Reflection & Realization
Reflection is when something is thrown back. We also call it pondering over whatever got reflected. In simple terms, it is careful thinking or looking at.
And what is being reflected? It could be energy, an object, our or others’ actions, reactions, or life in general. Basically, it is anything that has already happened or was there. No matter how we reflect, it is always immediately previous.
How? Why? Because there is a distance it has to travel to be detected, it takes time. That means we observe it over time. This means what we look at or ponder upon is the past. Any action can only be reflected on after it has happened; otherwise, it is contemplation. By this understanding, we can safely say we are never in the present. As the present moment is persistently our past. Yet here we are, believing in the present. When there is no such thing as present but the past or the future. The funny thing is, we still somehow understand what present is. Even when its definition is quite blurry.
Being aware of this enigma and simply existing is realization. Until then, you will always be reflecting or contemplating.
Is realization even possible? Let's understand by reading a quote from my book i$UBSCRIBE
"Reflection is the past. Something that images, therefore, it exists."
And so, reflecting tells us something was there. And that we are not alone. Here is another quote from the same book to mess up the understanding further.
“Mistake is not made but defined. When you analyze your past or future actions. Or when others do it for you. That’s when you establish it as a mistake. The act of judging puts you at fault, not the actual action. Contemplation is the culprit.”
Are we then to not contemplate? You tell me.
