It is a not yet published, and not yet finished, Penric tale. No title, nothing yet to say about it.
I prefer to read from things my audience won't have already read, when I can.
Ta, L.

Now I wish even more that I could make it to Dreamhaven.

Excellent! Anyone able to attend the event will be fascinated. The rest of us can look forward to the result when it's finished cooking.

Are there any plans to convey the reading electronically in some form? Streaming, recording?

Depends on what you mean by all ages. No porn, some medical grue. It's a not-quite murder mystery, what the ficcers are now calling a "casefic" and I would just call "a story".

Sandy, if your 11-year-old has already read some Penric stories, he should know what to expect. If not, I recommend it. Most of them are novellas and quite easy reading. The first of them, "Penric's Demon", introduces the world and the characters, although Penric is only 19 then; in the latest stories he's in his early 30s and married.

Yes, some. It takes place the following year, but entirely in Vilnoc, with a local issue.

Usually, it's whatever packaged cookies and sodas host Eric can afford to bring. And a bunch of mostly local fans standing/sitting around in a too-small space talking for a bit.
Yes, of course entry is free. It's a bookstore. They want people to come in and buy books...
:-), L.

...don't cell phones do that job these days...?
;-)

You all won't have that long to wait till the actual e-published story, so the long drive is possibly not worthwhile. I finished the first draft earlier this week, and Ron Miller is at work on an e-cover. 30k words before last revisions.
Still haven't finalized the title, though, a requirement for both Ron and me. Titles either come up and make themselves firmly known in the writing, or linger on elusively at the end. This is one of the latter. Current front runners are "Entanglements" or "Web of Sorrows", but something better may yet be lurking out there.

I ended up reading The Assassins of Thasalon over the weekend so I could attend without spoilers. I'm glad I did!
