Penric's Progress in Paperback Jan. 27th
Happy New Year, all!
I am pleased to note that the mass-market paperback edition of Penric's Progress, the novella collection from Baen Books containing the first Penric & Desdemona tales "Penric's Demon", "Penric and the Shaman", and "Penric's Fox", plus my short introduction, will be released January 27th.

for reference. There will also be signed copies available by mail order from Uncle Hugo's and Dreamhaven here in Minneapolis. And, with luck, general bookstore distribution, something I haven't had a lot of lately.
My carton of author's copies came the other day, fresh from the printer. Also received last week were the page proofs, what used to be called galley proofs, of the succeeding Penric's Travels mass-market paperback planned for May.
I'm very glad page proofs are now electronic -- I can enlarge the print to my eyes' content, most helpful for the tedious task of proofreading for errata. A good indoor project for this weather.

Out of curiosity, do electronic page proofs also let you use the "Change to a weird font as a typo-catcher" trick?

It might be a good trick to try with my earlier drafts, though.

No, apart from any typos or other errata we managed to comb out, the stories are the same. Might be one or two word dinks, don't remember, but nothing a reader would notice.
Apart, of course, for being on paper, a reading medium some people still prefer.
(If one wants larger type but still paper, I would point out the hardcover editions, still available but needing to be ordered. One won't find them still sitting out on brick-and-mortar bookstore shelves at this stage of their life cycle.)

I was delighted, the other day to see "Masquerade in Lodi" as a pre=order on Audible. I promptly signed up for it. And then read it for the third time this evening on the Kindle. (I'm losing my eyesight but can still make the print on Kindle large enough... Like the print !on the pre-primers my first grade classes used to start out with. 'D) A little late but Happy New Year!
Has anyone managed to get this from Amazon UK? I ordered it the day before it was due to come out and they haven't been able to get one yet.
