Masquerade in Lodi audio due February 27th

Aha...

Masquerade in Lodi has now acquired a release date from Blackstone Audiobooks -- February 27th. It's not yet listed on the Downpour or iTunes sites, but I see Audible had their page up --

https://www.amazon.com/Masquerade-Lod...

I look forward to seeing what they do with the cover.

Cool!

Although judging by my royalty reports, audio downloads are outselling physical media by about 100:1.

To my great benefit. The old physical media market had room for far, far fewer titles.

Jonathan Palfrey … and I have no more room in my house for paper books. Kindle books don't take up physical space: wonderful!

Kosigan Pre-ordered just now. 😁

Laureen Hart You have had some of the best (Sharing Knife) and worst (Vorkosigan) covers.

So far the Penric covers have been pretty OK, finger's crossed...

Jerri Cover art now visible on Audible. It appears to me to be very similar to the Kindle cover art, except squared off to look more like a CD cover.

Jerri I compared the Kindle art with the Audible art. It looks like the same thing, "cropped" to make a square. The major difference is that the full moon is gone, which makes the cover much darker looking.

It seems to be an earlier draft of the cover art from what I used -- I'd wanted a more moderate version of the feathers on the saint's mask, something I'd had a lot of trouble conveying to the artist. Other differences, if any, will be tiny.

(Artists often keep the rights to their images, and can resell them as opportunity arises. I like Ron's covers better than the more generic in-house ones Blackstone was using for the Penric series earlier, so I'm glad to see this here.)

Jerri Available on Audible as of today (Feb. 23rd, 2021)

I am about half way through listening and enjoying it greatly, as usual. I have read it 2 or 3 times already, but my experience is that I notice different things and get a somewhat different experience listening from what I had previously obtained reading. On the whole, I prefer to read a story/tale/book first and then listen.

Thank you for introducing me to Penric and Desdemona.
