on the road again
We are in Oregon. We will be camping at the beach and I won't have connectivity for awhile. At least not much, unless I find a starbucks and a cup of chai . . . May have to make a point of that, actually.
First couple of days of the drive have been fine. Well, nasty assed windy in WA. Going over the Columbia river there was quite a tricky thing. Not to mention the lack of fuel mileage, given the headwind. But we got to meet a net friend Amanda and her man, Orrin, and that was huge fun. Had dinner and I like them so much.
We went along a scenic route near Ranier and Mt. St. Helen's and it was lovely. Well, except for the roadwork. Did some geocaching, and stopped at Camping World and ended up in rush hour traffic in Portland. All in all, was fun, except for the roadwork and traffic, and occasional child bickering. But I did laugh a lot. Of course it helps that I'm easily amused.
I did wonder one thing. Perhaps you can help. Have you ever thought about how people went to the bathroom on the wagon trains? I mean, if they are supposed to be all careful about the other sex, did they have to try to hide their BMs? Did they go into the wagons and sit on a bucket? Did they go down in a gully? Dig a hole? Hide behind a bush? Whip up the dress and pop a squat? Or did everybody just accept that body function is necesasry and just ignore the doings of others? What do you think?
More ponderings to come, I'm sure. I did wonder some other things, but can't remember them at the moment.
