NOBLE AUTHOR'S BLOG TOUR-Interview With JUSTINE ELYOT
Hello again, everyone. I had so much fun here on Bianca's blog last month that I came back! She'll start charging me rent soon, except she's much too generous a hostess for that. Last time I was here I was talking about a story I wrote for Total E-Bound, but today I've got my Noble hat on, and a very fine hat it is too.
Bianca: That hat looks sexy on you, Justine, tilted to one side like that. You look like you're up to no good. And you've come to the perfect place.
So now for the questions:
What do you consider the most erotic fruit?
I like the look of a halved passion fruit, the texture of peaches and the scent and taste of mangoes. So mango-passionpeach for me. OH, and how could I forget figs? Actually, figs. That's my answer.
Name a historical figure you admire. Explain why.
All of the women involved in the Suffragette movement for their fearless and dogged pursuit of their principles.
What mythological creature would you want to be?
A lorelei. All those sailors. And you get to sing too.
Beer, wine or spirits?
One of my favourite sounds is the pop of a cork and the glug of wine from bottle to glass.
If you had to choose between an angel and a vampire, which would you choose? Why?
I'd choose the angel on that basis that he would be less likely to rip my throat out.
Most people would say uniforms are sexy. Do you agree? Which is the sexiest in your opinion?
Yes, I love a good uniform. My favourite is the Royal Navy Blue No. 1 Dress. (It isn't a dress. It's smart sailor gear, with shiny boots and badges.)
What's your favourite action movie? If you don't have a favourite, name one you didn't hate.
Die Hard, for one very compelling reason. Bearded, fake-German compelling reason.
Name your favourite cookie. No, seriously, tell us what it is and give it a new name.
I like Chocolate Hobnobs, which I shall henceforth know as SinBiscuits.
SinBiscuits! Love it! Make sure you get credit when Keebler slaps that name on their next creation.
All right, who's your favourite cartoon character? What do you like about them?
Sideshow Bob because he's evil and he likes Gilbert & Sullivan operas.
What songs would you use for the soundtrack of your life?
Great, great question. There are absolutely hundreds and most of them are very depressing. But at the moment, I'd go with Everybody's Happy Nowadays by The Buzzcocks.
Of all your characters, which one do you think would be best in a crisis?
Matthew in The Choirmaster. He's so calm, and also very, very organised. I also think he might have been a boy scout when younger, so he'd know all about knots and knives and things.
Thank you for this opportunity to visit – what excellent questions! I've had a lot of fun.
Any time, Justine-it's a pleasure to have you!

The Choirmaster
When Matthew auditions the waiflike Loveday for his prestigious choir, he does not realise that his controlled and ordered life is about to be turned upside down. In rescuing her from a chaotic lifestyle and brutal boyfriend, he also rescues himself from a future of repressed emotions and meaningless liaisons. Loveday uncovers his secret desires, and, rather than recoiling, she embraces them without reservation. Matthew, at last, can be master of more than his choir.
