NOBLE AUTHOR'S BLOG TOUR-Interview with INDIGO SKYE
Today I'd like to welcome my first guest for the much anticipated Noble Author's Blog Tour. Indigo Skye is a writer and photographer living in the American Southwest. Her first novel, Her Captive Muse, was released by Noble Romance Publishers in January. Her work has been widely published online. Last fall, her short story "True Confession" was published in the anthology Uniform Behavior.
For the tour, I thought we'd get to know Indigo a little better. So I had some questions for her…
First question-What's your favourite thing to watch on TV while being intimate? (And that questions only dirty if you want it to be)
Scary horror movies and suspenseful thrillers really get me in the mood. I'm addicted to Dexter! He gets my vote for sexiest serial killer ever.
Imagine a very ordinary situation and find a way to make it romantic (extra points for creativity)
Last summer, I had a naughty little adventure on a camping trip with my boyfriend. We had a raunchy rendezvous in a rowboat in the middle of a beautiful alpine lake. I don't know if you'd call it romantic, but we got very creative!
If you found a sexy man/woman tied up on your bed, what would you do with him/her?
I'd fuck him until he was begging for mercy, then write a story about it.
What do you consider the most erotic fruit?
Strawberries dipped in dark chocolate, eaten in bed with a lover.
Name a historical figure you admire. Explain why.
I admire Anaïs Nin- she was a pioneer in the field of erotica, and was extremely liberated for her time. Her love affair with Henry Miller is legend. She later became known as a fabulous writer, a celebrated diarist, and a woman of letters.
What mythical creature would you want to be?
I'd choose to become a mermaid, exploring the passions that dwell in underwater realms. I love having sex in the shower, and I can think of all sorts of naughty advantages to being able to breathe underwater!
Beer, wine, or spirits?
It depends on the occasion. When I got my contract for Her Captive Muse, I celebrated with a bottle of bubbly. If I'm out with my girlfriends, I'll order a dirty martini-or three. After a stressful day, I love to relax with a glass of good merlot.
If you had to choose between and angel and a vampire, which would you choose? Why?
My readers know I'm no angel! Vampires are so much sexier. They appeal to my dark side. I've even written some erotic poetry about vampires. They truly capture the imagination. Who wouldn't want to sleep all day, party all night, and have fang-tastic sex with a host of hot immortals?
Most people would say uniforms are sexy. Do you agree? Which is the sexiest in your opinion?
I definitely agree. There's nothing hotter than a man (or woman) in uniform. My short story, "True Confession," was recently published in Lucy Felthouse's anthology, Uniform Behavior. It's a collection of short erotic fiction about men and women in uniform- what a fantastic project! I was proud to participate. Part of our proceeds are being donated to the UK charity, Help for Heroes: http://www.helpforheroes.co.uk. A soldier in uniform is a very sexy sight, and their courage is an inspiration.
My story for Uniform Behavior features Father Matthew, a hot young priest who's questioning his faith. He's tempted by a naughty redhead who'll stop at nothing to get what she wants. I think my favourite uniform is a firefighter's gear- a guy with a big hose is always a turn-on!
What's your favourite action movie? If you don't have a favourite, name one you didn't hate.
I found a lot to like about Troy, with Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom. Hello, abs!
Name your favourite cookie. No, seriously, tell us what it is and give it a new name.
I'd like to revamp the traditional Chinese fortune cookie and write funny mis-fortunes instead, like: "Your boyfriend suffers from commitment-phobia." "Yes, he's cheating on you." "Beware of jerks bearing gifts." "Don't date a Virgo."
Who is your favourite cartoon character? What do you like about them?
I love Wonder Woman. She's got an invisible jet- no intrusive security probes necessary! Talk about travelling in style. She's all about the fabulous accessories- even her wristbands have secret powers. And who wouldn't want a golden lasso that would force people to tell the truth? Think of the power women could wield with a weapon like that. Finally, you'd have the answers to questions like, "Did you sleep with my best friend?" and "Where were you last night?" I can think of some interesting things you could do with that lasso in the bedroom, too…
What is the name of the last book you wanted to use as kindling?
I won't throw stones. (Never a good idea for those of us dwelling in glass houses.) I respect anyone who has the guts to put their writing out there- it takes hard work, determination, and a hell of a lot of discipline to get published. If I don't like a book, I'll pass it on to a friend. Everyone's tastes are different.
What songs would you choose for the soundtrack of your life?
Something down and dirty, beautiful and transcendent, in the key of the blues.
Of all your characters, which one do you think would be best in a crisis?
If I could choose one character to help me out during a crisis, I'd pick Brendan Delaney from Her Captive Muse. He's very street-smart, and he's got a lot of guts. Brendan's as lucky as Satan himself, and he's very experienced at getting into-and out of- trouble!
