Opening Scene: Ichabod Brooks & the Jester Flute
Slapping a few gold coins on the bar, Ichabod Brooks helps himself to a mug of ale and the last bowl of an old stew. He cautiously sniffs at the reheated meal a few times before taking a tiny bite, which he immediately spits out. With a sigh, the dark-skinned man tosses the dish into an empty sink and walks out from behind the bar. Pushing a pair of rainbow-tinted glasses back up his nose, the nervous adventurer takes a seat and tries to relax his aching muscles. Finding a jar of pretzels, he grabs a handful and does his best to eat the stale snacks. It requires several gulps of the decent ale to get the food down, his stomach complaining about the abuse after days of meager meals. He stares out the open window even though the streets are empty, except for stray animals. Watching a…

Avery by Ken Kratz
I agree. It seemed a vehicle for him to further his animosity towards the show, and also to excuse his personal behaviour.
And now, for some sour grapes and whining…
Avery: The Case Against Steven Avery and What “Making a Murderer” Gets Wrong by Ken Kratz
It’s time to set the record straight about Steven Avery.
The Netflix series Making a Murderer was a runaway hit, with over 19 million US viewers in the first 35 days. The series left many with the opinion that Steven Avery, a man falsely imprisoned for almost 20 years on a previous, unrelated assault charge, had been framed by a corrupt police force and district attorney’s office for the murder of a young photographer. Viewers were outraged, and hundreds of thousands demanded a pardon for Avery. The chief villain of the series? Ken Kratz, the special prosecutor who headed the investigation and trial. Kratz’s later misdeeds—prescription drug abuse and sexual harassment—only cemented belief in his corruption.
This book tells you what Making a Murderer didn’t.

On Gossamer Wings
On Gossamer Wings
https://julianfroment.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/on-gossamer-wings.wav
On gossamer wings,
On gossamer wings,
My heart it flies to you.
To be together,
‘till the end of days
Is all that’s left to do.
Flying high,
‘cross the ocean blue,
To where it now belongs.
Cradled within,
A soul so true,
Amidst angelic song.
And soon now,
Oh, so very soon,
The body will be along.
To join the heart,
To fill the void,
Back where I belong.
The book is available here and comes in both digital and paperback format.

Expecting to Die by Lisa Jackson
Five stars. High praise indeed!
Expecting to Die by Lisa Jackson
The menacing woods of Grizzly Falls, Montana, are not for the faint of heart. But for some, they’re the perfect setting for partying and pranks. They don’t know there’s a rapt audience amid the tangled trees, a killer with a different kind of game in mind, for whom the woods are dark and deep and perfectly deadly.
Some places earn their bad reputation through tall tales or chance. Grizzly Falls is different. Here, killers aren’t just the stuff of legends and campfire lore. Someone is in the night-time shadows, watching the local teens play around in the moonlit woods. Waiting for the right moment, the right victim. Waiting to take away a life.
Detective Regan Pescoli is counting the days until her maternity leave. Exhausted and emotional, the last thing she needs is another suspected serial killer. Especially when her daughter, Bianca, is swept…

Easter – April 16
I just thought that I would begin preparing early for Easter this year and wanted to share this book and these few thoughts with everyone.
So what do we think about when we think of Easter, religious connotations aside?
I guess the big one is the chocolate eggs that have been out on display in stores since the day after Christmas. How could we have missed them? They come in all manner of shapes, sizes and flavours. They fill entire aisles and carry a price tag, at least the brand name ones do, that would necessitate the taking out of a significant loan. In fact, I am pretty sure that I have even seen stands set up with all the requisite application forms next to the eggs at some stores. Come on! These are chocolate eggs, and I am pretty sure they were not designed by Faberge himself. Neither, I think, were these little guys.
Anyway, moving on from my minor rant there, what else do we think of? I guess the standards are bunnies, chicks and general cute, furry, cuddly stuff. There are decorated eggs, the poor man’s version of the Faberge egg, one supposes, and baskets. Baskets of decorated eggs.
What else is there? I would value your thoughts on this. Please let me know in the comments about what images Easter conjures up for you.
Easter always evokes images of Spring, of new birth and renewal. A time of hope for the future.
Well I hope that you will forgive me for the following, extremely shameless, unabashed and even brazen, plug for an Easter coloring book.
What could be more relaxing this Easter than coloring those iconic images of Easter?
Description
Coloring is not just for kids. It has been proven to be an excellent way for adults to destress, create mindfulness and slow down from daily life, all while enjoying an activity that you can truly make your own. Every effort has been made to ensure that this is an enjoyable way to spend your time, but paper quality is something we don’t have control over with this method of publishing, so please use the included sheet of paper behind your artwork to ensure that your chosen pens or markers do not bleed through to the next page. All pages are single sided to allow for framing and to help protect the next artwork.
There is no right or wrong way to color in the images in this book, and you are free to choose the tools you wish to work with. Markers, paint, colored pencils, pens – the choices are unlimited.
Sit back and unwind and let your stress melt away while you spread color across the pages. Relax and enjoy book seventeen, ‘Easter’ of this calming series.
Happy Coloring!
PS: Assuming that you have made it this far, I really should have put this first, but then it wouldn’t have been a postscript then, would it. I digress! So if you are reading this then why not hop on over to the J and I Publishing blog where you can find information on releases of all of our books. I know. I know. You just want to get on over there to read about the adventures of our C.P.O, Chief Pig Officer, Sir Bacon. Whatever your reason, we would love to see you there.

A personal enchantment
A Book of Shadows
Incense and Candles
Herbs and roots
Gods and Goddesses
Gaia the earth
The mother of all

The universe’s call
Turrets and towers
A city of spires

An angelic choir
As my soul trembles
With immeasurable desire

My Life Changed
You changed my life,
Or rather, me one gave,
From a bitter existence,
My heart thou didst save
Before was darkness,
But you gave me light,
Completing my soul,
Making everything right
Without direction,
All motivation lost,
I was all adrift,
At sea, to my cost
A blinding light,
A clarion call,
Thus began,
A future most full
Love and beauty,
Now rule my days,
Joy and happiness,
A euphoric haze
Where before there was pain,
Misery and grey,
Now is ecstasy,
Each and every day
Our story began,
A destiny great,
As my life,
Took a turn of fate
And in that book,
We have blank pages,
To record the perfection,
Of us through the ages
