Inventory Levels Provide Clues for 4Q
We examine the Manhattan real estate market for the third quarter. While it is apparent prices rose, recent headlines regarding the stock market and the economy may have some thinking this may change shortly. We don’t expect this to be the case.
The quarter, which spans the summer, is an important one. The nice weather and rush to move before the start of the new school season are on buyers’ minds. Although the past is not necessarily a prelude to the future, we cull the important data in order to predict where the heady borough’s real estate market is heading.

5 Reasons Why You Should Consider Buying in a Doorman Building
I live in a building with a full-time doorman, and admittedly, to some extent I’m spoiled. Not that I wouldn’t consider living in a non-doorman building if I found the right apartment for my lifestyle.
When I searched to buy an apartment in Manhattan, I did, in fact, look at many co-op apartments that lacked a doorman or had a part-time doorman. And, I made offers on a few of those co-ops, albeit unsuccessfully. However, the apartment in which I currently live was meant to be, and it just so happened to come with a 24-hour doorman, which was a real bonus.

Are Mortgages Available?
A great deal of the current discussion in the press and financial circles revolves around the level of mortgage rates. This is particularly true after the latest Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting, the arm of the Federal Reserve that decides monetary policy and what to do regarding short-term interest rates. We have discussed our thoughts on mortgage rates several times in the past.

Ralph Walker Tribeca
Located at 100 Barclay Street, this building has been an icon since 1927. And for residents who are lucky enough to secure one of the residences spread across 31 stories, Ralph Walker Tribeca will provide an excellent home.
History
Ralph Walker Tribeca has the distinction of being the building that set the standard for the Art Deco Movement in both New York and the rest of the world. What’s especially interesting about the design of this building is its beauty was inspired in part by the need for the structure to comply with zoning laws and have enough space to store all of the New York Telephone Exchange’s machinery.

Charming West Village Streets: Bedford, Perry, and Charles
Few neighborhoods exude the level of charm of the West Village. Overflowing with history, quaintness, and a relaxed vibe, this downtown neighborhood boasts some of the most picturesque streets in all of New York City.
I could stroll around this section of Greenwich Village for hours on end, probably get lost –– even after visiting dozens of times previously ––since the streets aren’t on a grid. Eventually, I’d collect myself and figure out which direction is north, south, east, and west, and then make my way to one of these gorgeous streets.
