UK Cover for STOLEN
Again, I retained digital rights (digital only…stores will be able to order the print books) for STOLEN in the UK. This time I was ahead of the game and I knew this was coming so I’ve been working on getting STOLEN formatted, cover done, etc, etc… I still need to get the blurb done, but I plan on having it ready for people the same day it releases here in the states… and look!
Cover!
snippet…
There was an ache in her chest—a dull one that had nothing to do with her still recovering body. Yeah, she knew Lorna hadn’t come to grips with the fact that her friend and her brother weren’t together anymore.
Shay still hadn’t come to grips with it.
She still thought about him all the time.
He’d been the first person she wanted to see when she woke up in the hospital. And she had almost called him, too. But he had told her he was done.
So she hadn’t called. Maybe he was done, but she wasn’t. She missed him, thought about him all the time.
She still dreamed about him.
She still wished she’d be working and hear the phone ring and just know it was him.
Not that many other people ever really called her.
There’d been a number of business-related calls, but those didn’t really count. Lorna. Shay’s assistant, Darcy, but that was about it. Hell, the only phone calls she really looked forward to anymore were Lorna’s. Guilt tugged at her, because there had been a time when she’d loved talking to Darcy, but lately…
Hell, you ought to be thankful you’ve got Darcy to talk to. Darcy and Lorna, both? You should dance. That’s two friends.
Yet neither of them did anything to ease the loneliness that had been a part of her life for as long as she could remember. Only Elliot had done that. But she hadn’t been able to keep him…
You won’t share any damn thing with me, Shay…how long are we supposed to keep this up?
He’d asked her that, and she hadn’t been able to answer.
Are you ever going to let me in?
That, she could have answered. The answer had been no. But she hadn’t wanted to hurt him, so she kept the answer trapped behind her teeth. He’d seen it anyway, in her eyes, in the way she watched him.
I guess that’s it, then.
They were over…just like that.
He hadn’t been unkind and he hadn’t tried to force anything out of her. But it was over just the same and her heart had been an aching, empty mess ever since. She missed him so much. There were times when she wanted to talk to him, wanted to see him so bad…
A shiver danced along her spine and she looked up, turned her head. Even before she saw him standing at the end of the aisle, staring at her, she knew.
Coming out the end of October…

I was pretty sick for close to ten days, then dealing with baby bratlet being sick. I think she’s on the mend now-missed a week a school, but hopefully the worst is over. Which means I’ve got serious time to make up for.
I may not be online as much while I’m making up for that lost time. When I’m not sick, I’m trying to spend less time online on the weekends, in the evenings anyway so I can spend more time with my family and while I’m making up for lost time, I may be scarce.

Saturday Snippets…from Night Blade
This is from NIGHT BLADE…
“Don’t go getting all carried away. We wouldn’t know normal if it bet it. But it might be nice to have something…well, nice.”
“Yeah.” Sleep was actually closer than I thought, I realized, but I forced my eyes opened, stared outside. “Nice… what’s nice and normal.”
“Christmas…you ever do Christmas, Kit?” His hand stroked my nape.
I snorted. “Hell, no. The aunts and Grandmother celebrated the solstice and I’d helped in the house, but I don’t think that’s the same as doing Christmas.” I rolled my head to peer up at him through my lashes. “What about you?”
“Yeah.” He stroked a finger along my cheek. “Me and the kid always did it, just me and him. Will be different this year, but…” His hand slid into my hair and tangled. “You’re going to do Christmas this year. With me.”
I lifted up a little to look at him. “I am, huh?”
“Yeah.” He lifted up onto one elbow and pressed his mouth to mine. “Nice, normal…it doesn’t get much more nice and normal than that.”
Christmas, huh? I lay my head back on his chest, smiling a little. “We going to get a tree?”
“Damn straight…a tree. I’ll buy you presents. You can buy something, too. I think something red and slinky, like all those lingerie things you look at and never buy.”
~*~
BTW…BLADE SONG is on sale for $2.99 but only for a few more days.
Amazon | BN | iBookstore | ARe/OmniLit | Kobo
Crossed Kobo and BN out… for some reason BN returned the price to normal before it was scheduled and although all etailers were supposed to drop the price, Kobo never did. If you read on a Kobo or Nook, you can get the epub, without DRM, via ARe.

Mini-snippet from Night Blade, other stuff
this is just a mini snippet…the rest is over at the J.C. blog…I’m working on merging the blogs into one, but need to wait for my web lady to help me figure that out.
I heard another grunt come across the line. ”This is a bad time. I’ll be quick.”
“Nah. Chang and Doyle are with me. We’re mostly done. This is the last of it and I’m letting Doyle handle a lot of it. Needs to get the shine off him.” There was another grunt, followed by a roar that hurt my ears even through the phone. “We’re just about done here. Only a few hours away. Have dinner with me tonight?”
“Can’t.” As I passed around the desk, I grabbed my sword and nudged the cooler with my foot. “I’m going to be out of town for a few days–courier thing to the Smokies. MacDonald with the wolves is paying me to deliver some heads.”
“Ah, gimme a second.”
I heard a roar–I recognized that one, a deep, barking sort of roar, unlike anything a lion or tiger would make. Damon’s creature was a leopard, a rare one, although very few realized just how rare he was. I knew. I had no idea if anybody else did. Chang might. But for all I knew, that was it.
A few seconds and one scream later, and he was back on the phone. “Did you just say you were delivering some heads?”
BLADE SONG is still one sale for a few more days… please note, I removed BN from the list because for some reason, the price went back up before it was supposed to, but you can get epub format from ARe. I’ve emailed my contact to see if they can get BN to readjust the price again but I don’t know if that will happen. I’m sorry… it’s been my week (season) for weird, crazy things to happen.
