Kale and Garlic

Planted Kale and garlic this afternoon after digging up the rest of the potatoes. Kale will be planted in three different spots, hopefully to thwart the bugs next year. And hopefully it will winter over!
Last night it rained, something that had not happened in a long while, so I decided it was a good day to plant the kale. The garden is winding down, but I still have to dig up the sweet potatoes (not until later) and the tomatoes are still growing.

Burlington

The second-to-last Burlington Antique Show was today, and I came home with a Swiss lateral treadle spinning wheel and a clock, the latter purchased from Dad. I also sold quite a lot of stuff, so it was a good day.
If I remember correctly, this is the only spinning wheel I've bought ALL YEAR. So. Even though I spent a lot of money, it's actually quite OK to do so.

Friday and Saturday were the last yard sales of the year, and I'm happy to report that I got rid of a lot of stuff! And my only purchases were an ankle length hooded gray wool cloak, a stainless steel tea kettle in the perfect size I've been looking for, a grater, and a individual slice (citrus) juicer for my "collection." (I have a small collection of interesting juicers.)
The weather was perfect, the crowd great, and whatever was left that couldn't go to Burlington ended up headed to the rum...

Two Months

It has been two months since I turned off my home Internet and went mobile. And I can--honestly--say that I've gotten so much done that needed to be done around the house without my desktop beckoning and then suddenly realizing half a day has passed and I'm still in my pajamas with nothing to show for it.
At least now, if I spend the morning in my pajamas, I'm writing, or reading (or even cleaning!) and I don't feel so bad. It's kind of freeing, actually. And I have no plans to go back. ...
