Bread!

Molasses Yogurt quick bread. Definitely will make this again.

Whole Wheat, from a new cookbook. I'll make this again, too, although I might add a bit of molasses next time.

Cookware

So last year for Christmas, I bought myself a Le Creuset 2.75qt. oval dutch oven to go with my vintage Mi-Pet 4qt. roaster/Dutch oven, since most of what I cook is for one person anyway, and I didn't need to make huge batches of soup, etc. all the time (I have stock pots for that.)
Also, from getting rid of my microwave and using the toaster oven more, I've been looking at smaller ones, and now have a 1.75qt. made by Staub that I got for a great price. It just arrived last week and I've...

A short rundown...

The craft show went well. It was a slightly above average year, so I wasn't complaining!
Thanksgiving was wonderful as usual; it was nice to have everyone together, although I did miss Elsa. She was with her Dad.
I have tons of leftovers, but I've been using them up. I made stock from the turkey carcass today and ended up with three gallons of stock! Yikes!
Some of that ended up in the turkey pot pies I made tonight (individual ones) with biscuits for the crusts. I will be making turkey no...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! I had a wonderful meal with my family, and brought home lots of leftovers (including the turkey carcass!) I couldn't have asked for a nicer day.

Craft Show!

The St. George craft show is this Saturday, so all of the crafty stuff I did last weekend was because of that. I'm feeling pretty good about what I have to bring this year. It's the first time in a while that I feel that way.
In other news, I found a local job to apply for, so wish me luck!

Joyous Labor.

A garden is a lot of work. Work I enjoy, yes, but still, it takes time. Especially if you are trying to reclaim garden beds from neglect.
Last weekend, I reclaimed the kitchen garden. This makes me very happy, because its been neglected for nearly three years! And now, it sleeps, waiting for spring.
This weekend, I rolled the smaller hay bale down the driveway and into the garden. I pulled up all the stakes, in preparation for a thick layer of mulch.
Next year, my goal is to honestly...

In the event of my unfortunate demise...

In the event of my unfortunate demise, Look kindly on my eccentricities. For I was raised on stories, and they nourished my soul.
Please do me the courtesy of telling the trees of my passing. They will ensure that the neighborhood knows and passes the word along.
Leave the contents of my house in place for two years and a day. If certain things vanish in that time, be assured that their former owners have returned to take them back.
The rest of my estate is yours; do as you s...
