What Science Can Teach Us About Goal Success!
I’m always excited when we can fuse scientific practice with manifesting our goals and dreams. One of the biggest barriers to achieving our goals we can encounter is the ‘f’ word – failure. Perhaps we were brought up in a household where we were told that if you didn’t achieve something the first time out you should give up. Or there could have been a great deal of fear around failing due to worrying about what other people may think. Very often we can start taking action towards our goal – be it learning a new skill, setting up our own business or finding that perfect partner – only for things to not work out quite the way we hoped. Maybe we even go back a second, third or fourth time – or more. But we still fail to reach our goal, master that activity, meet that person. In the end we resign ourselves not just to the fact we’re not destined to attain what we want – but we also tell ourselves that our experience has been a complete waste of time.
If any of this resonates with your journey or sounds familiar on any level then what I have to tell you is that almost any scientist out there would tell you that your perspective is completely wrong. We know our thoughts create our reality and this is formed by our point of view. Labelling attempts to reach our goals that do not achieve the desired outcome as ‘failures’ is not something a scientist would ever think of doing. In fact, science takes the entire concept of failure out of the equation! It works like this. Say you are a medical scientist looking to develop a new vaccine that will protect people against cancer. You have an idea of how such a vaccine might be developed. So, you set out to create it. The first batch of vaccines you develop however offer no protection at all. Now, from a scientists point of view, you have just tested out one hypothesis as to how such a vaccine might be created. This did not work but it has given you valuable information about how NOT to go about it. It is now time to come up with and test another one. You see the difference? To a scientific researcher you have merely explored one option. Just because you didn’t get the result you hoped for does not mean you have failed. Quite the contrary. Armed now with valuable information as to what is not going to work, you can begin to fine tune your process. If the second, third, fourth or even fifth attempts do not work out, our fearless scientist still continues but now has even more information to work with!
Suppose you now approach a goal not from the perspective of failing to get the result you want, but from a perspective of obtaining information about the best way to go about getting it? Not only would you now approach the process with an open mind, you would be set to enjoy it no matter what happened! You are information gathering – nothing more, or adding to your knowledge and skills. This applies to anything from studying to going on dates. When you take the concept of failure out of the equation, no matter what the outcome you walk away feeling you have gained something. This in turn fosters a positive attitude which merely boosts our ability to reach our goals in the long term.
Become the Quantum Physicist and Creator of your own life and see every step you take towards your goals as merely one more step towards proving that you are right – you are MEANT to live your dreams. And consign the ‘f’ word to the past!
Supercharge Soul-Mate Success!
Here’s the crazy paradox about love – or any other goal we may have for that matter. To get what you want you all ready have to have it. Huh?! I hear you saying. ‘How can that work and by the way I’ve not had a date since the Jurassic era and now you’re telling me I have to have love to get love?’ Okay, let me explain. Of course, you don’t actually have to be in your ideal relationship right now to attract it – you only have to believe you are.
Let me give you an example of how this works. Have you ever had a really scary nightmare and woken up with that sense of immense relief that it was ‘just a dream’? We all have, right? But the thing is while you are dreaming your brain doesn’t know it’s a dream. It feels absolutely real which is why when we wake and realise it was a dream we feel that intense rush of relief to find ourselves safe and warm in bed, right? Well, just like your brain can’t differential between a dream and reality when you are asleep, it can’t differentiate between you being in love for real and you feeling that you are in love – without actually having a partner – yet. This is the basis for all visualisation and Quantum Creating techniques. When we experience something emotionally it changes our energy. Another example would be something that most of us have also experienced when it comes to love. How many of you have been suddenly deluged by prospective lovers the moment you begin a serious relationship? I mean – where were these people all the time you were single? The reason so many of us become love magnets the moment someone comes into our lives is down to one thing – when it comes to energy like attracts like. If you want something in your life you must first have it – or broadcast the emotional frequency that you do.
It’s not as difficult as you may think to begin to send out those signals that tell not only your brain that you have the love you want in your life, but the universe too. Remember – it’s all about how you feel. So, unplug your phone and pick a time when you know you’re not going t be disturbed. Make yourself comfortable – you can sit or lie down i- whatever is best for you because don’t forget – we are about to create the ultimate feel-good emotions for you. Close your eyes and relax. You can start by imagining you are meeting your ideal lover for the first time. Most probably you all ready have a pretty good idea in your mind about how they might look and I really don’t want you to get too hung up on that. What you need to concentrate on is how you feel. You can make a note of where you are when you meet them. What are you wearing? Are you dressed differently or do you look different? Take note of these kinds of details for later. Now, when you catch your new lover’s eye and they smile at you how do you feel? That sense of excitement and anticipation that you may have made a significant new connection – the thrill as they come over and start talking to you – we all know those feelings and those are what you need to stay in touch with.
Now, fast forward a little. You and your new lover exchange numbers. Imagine they call you to arrange a date. Stay with the feeling of excitement this gives you. Visualise in as much detail as possible how the date goes and stay with your emotions. You can jump forward if you want to imagining your new lover saying ‘I love you’ and again, stay with how this makes you feel. When you are ready, you can leave the visualisation but stay with the emotions you felt – you feel amazing, alive and passionately loved-up. Practice accessing this emotional state throughout your day. You are now in your ideal love relationship and the thing is – your brain doesn’t know it’s not yet a reality. Don’t forget – if you saw yourself dressing or looking differently when you did this exercise then adopt this image as it will make it even easier for your brain to accept this new reality of yours.
As you keep connected to your feelings, your energy will shift – often quite quickly so don’t be surprised if those potential lovers suddenly appear out of nowhere! Use the feelings that come up as a compass – they are going to guide you towards the person who will make them 100% real for you and reflect back at you the love you have created inside that is just waiting to become a reality. If you can create it – and feel it – you will have it -believe it or not. That’s the true power of love that you can experience right now.

Five Easy Steps to a Soul Boosting Summer Solstice!
Summer is here and even if you are in the Southern Hemisphere, recent evidence shows there are five simple steps we can take to boost our wellbeing, intuition and creativity no matter what time of year it is.
1: Reach out. Connections are essential for our overall wellbeing both physical and mental. If your social life needs an upgrade there’s nothing like the summer to get involved in a new activity. If making new friends seems daunting the fact is we are all often guilty of letting friendships slide. Why not pick up the phone or drop an email to that friend you’ve been feeling guilty about not contacting for so long? Chances are they are feeling as guilty as you are and what’s more are happy to hear from you. Reach out and let other people expand your world and wellbeing.
2: Don’t just dream it – do it. Get on the move – whether its taking exercise or taking action towards your goals. Either one will get your brain releasing endorphins. Obviously the benefits of exercise are well documented but action of any kind brings its own high. Taking action towards our goals and even completing a small step makes us feel good about ourselves. Whether you want to be fitter or set a personal or professional goal – break your goals down into short term, medium and long term. As you scratch them off you’ll have the encouragement to go on to the next one so get that feel good factor happening for you!
3: Expand your awareness. Look for synchronicities. Become aware of coincidences and hidden meanings. What’s your intuition telling you? Paying more attention to everyday things boosts our intuition and creativity as we begin to see beyond the obvious. Magic is everywhere!
4: Keep learning. When we learn something new we boost our confidence and self-worth as well as gain a sense of achievement. Whether it’s taking up a new activity such as sailing, horse riding or walking this summer or learning the Tarot or taking a IT class, learning expands our potential and brings us new possibilities. Learning is where we begin to create a new future for ourselves.
5: Pay it forward: Don’t associate giving with only money. No matter how broke we are we all have something to give. We can give our time to a friend who needs help with a project or moving house. We can volunteer at a local charity. W can give someone the present of our presence. Of course, there’s nothing like giving money to a good cause especially if we believe in it. But also the feel-good factor of being able to help someone out is the gift that gives to both parties and whose effects we can relive long afterwards. It sends a signal to the universe we can afford to give – even if it is just our time or expertise. And in turn the universe sends us more to give. That’s a win/win scenario on a karmic scale!
Feeling great at any time of year or expanding the possibilities in our lives doesn’t have to be difficult. It’s always the Season of the Soul after all!

Global Consciousness: Is Science Set To Prove We Are All One?
By now most of us are familiar with concept such as our thoughts and energy affect our reality and quantum theory points to a holographic or inter-connected universe. Jung spoke of the ‘collective unconscious’ and from this the appearance of synchronicities. However, science is now showing us that we are all connected on a global, conscious level whether we are aware of this or not. Not only are we connected with each other, we are connected with the Earth as well and major events in one part of the globe ripple out and impact on people on the other side of it.
Princeton University and the Institute of Noetic Sciences have been running the Global Consciousness Project since 1998. It collects data from random number generators (RNG’s) based on quantum tunnelling, which are located at 70 sites around the globe. Now, under normal circumstances these RNG’s just produce completely unpredictable sequences of zeros and ones. But what the scientists have discovered in the 16 years the project has been running is that when an event occurs which synchronises the feelings of a large number of people, the numbers that are generated cease to become random but assume a subtle structure. The scientists estimate there is a one in a trillion odds that this is purely due to chance. In other words, when enough people become focussed on something, the machines and therefore the nature of the universe itself is effected. This has happened on too many occasions for the researchers to ignore this. Events such as 9/11, the 2004 tsunami, Hurricane Katrina and presidential elections have been shown to have a massive impact on the RNG’s. This would seem to indicate that we are all unconsciously tapped into and even influencing, a unified field of consciousness and the sudden synchronising of the numbers generated reflects this.
From this research we can see that collectively we have the ability to change our world as it is not just what we think individually that affects our reality but what we think collectively too. Taking this one step further and tapping into my research into memes and how they influence us, we can see how important it is for us to choose our thoughts and beliefs carefully as both individuals and as societies but this also gives us the opportunity to be the catalysts for positive change and transformation if enough of us agree on the beliefs we hold and also where we direct our attention. Where attention goes, energy flows. When it comes to showing us all we have the ability to become master-creators of positive change in the world, the researchers at the project have found that when events occur they are greater when emotions such as compassion and empathy are collectively triggered than when negative emotions such as fear or anger are the result. Proof perhaps of what the mystics and holy teachings have always told us – love is not only the answer but the most powerful force in our universe (and possibly all the parallel ones as well!).
Think about it this way – compassion and love are interpersonal, connecting emotions, while fear and anger drive us towards personal survival; it separates us. But when we collectively feel compassion and empathy what this project seems to be saying echoes in the quantum – we really can change our world.

Quantum Success Techniques: Science Proves You Are What You Think!
So many times we’ve discussed how your thoughts create your reality. Now, let me clarify this right off. By this I don’t for one second believe that the terrible tragedies that occur in so many people’s lives are ‘self created’ – as clearly they are not. What I am talking about is how our brains are basically wired – in the words of Henry Ford who I am also fond of quoting: Whether you believe you can, or whether you believe you can’t – you are right. The world reflects our beliefs back at us. And now the latest research backs this up. According to Stanford psychologist Dr. Carol Dweck, it’s all in our minds. Dr. Dweck has identified two basic brain types – the fixed and the growth mindsets. These two brain types hold the keys as to whether we are successful or unsuccessful as they govern our beliefs and our behaviours.
Successful people fall into the growth mindset. They focus on problem solving and self-improvement. They believe that their intelligence isn’t something which is ‘fixed’ but can grow. This in turn stimulates a desire to gain more knowledge. When they encounter setbacks they persist but learn from the experience. They embrace challenges and also know that they cannot achieve their goals without making an effort – and they see this effort as adding to their skills. They also learn from and are inspired by others. Dr. Dweck points out this gives them a greater sense of empowerment and free will and as a result are able to reach higher levels of achievement when it comes to attaining their goals.
Those who fall into the fixed mindset however, have a very different view. They believe their intelligence, their characters, their behaviours, their creativity or any abilities they have are ‘fixed’ and cannot be changed. Success – or the lack of it – is therefore seen as an affirmation of the hand they have been dealt. As Dr. Dweck explains: “Believing that your qualities are carved in stone — the fixed mindset — creates an urgency to prove yourself over and over. If you have only a certain amount of intelligence, a certain personality, and a certain moral character — well, then you’d better prove that you have a healthy dose of them. It simply wouldn’t do to look or feel deficient in these most basic characteristics.”
The trouble with the need to ‘prove yourself over and over’ – is that doing the same thing all the time and expecting a different result gets us nowhere! Fixed mindset people avoid challenges, give up easily and see repeated effort as a waste of time. In other words – they become a self-limiting prophecy.
So, you are what you think you are. But what if you want to change your mind – quite literally? Perhaps this has resonated with you and you feel you may be operating from a fixed mindset in certain areas of your life. Dr. Dweck has concluded that those people who remain in a fixed mind set achieve less and are less successful than those with a growth mindset. We all want to grow and experience all we are capable of and what we need to understand is that it is only ever a thought we need to change. Neuroplasticity has proved we can grow new neural pathways in the brain. So, looked at this way – anyone can quite literally change their minds. If you think you are being too fixed and want to open your mind to new possibilities and ways of thinking, try shifting your focus ever so slightly. See not getting the result you were expecting not as a failure but as an opportunity to learn something -about yourself if nothing else! Become your own experiment. If you would normally shy away from a new way of doing something or a challenge ask yourself ‘What if?’ – what will happen if you do try it? Then find out. Again, let go of judging your actions – and be prepared to surprise yourself – even if it’s just by attempting it in the first place! Praise yourself for trying even if you didn’t get the outcome you expected this time. The more you do this the more you will be willing to attempt doing more.
Our brains are not carved out of stone. Neither are our personalities, talents and skills. If you are indeed what you think as this research suggests, and if your success is determined by this, then success is just a question of a new way of thinking – and we all have the ability to do that.
