Robot Man
Recent work for a client – non strictly origami, but fun to do ;)
Money (that’s what I want)
Just had an offer for a 96 page book, £500. Some companies must think I live off thin air ;(

There’s a Rat in my dungeon….
Had a request from the London Dungeon to produce instructions for a “rat” to go inside their new booklet “Fearsome Facts and Gruesome Tales”. I adapted a mouse of mine from way back when and it takes pride of place on page 18. If you manage to fold it, you are encouraged to share your creations by tweeting to #TheLondonDungeon.
I’m actually starting to understand how twitter works, although I’m hugely wary of wasting too much time on it!

Up on the road again
I had several pieces of delicate work to post to a client, so I took the expedient route and drove over the moors to Lancashire, the sleepy town of Wilmslow to be precise. I recently altered my satnav settings to be less obsessed with motorways and speed, so it took me a nice back route along some winding country lanes, like this one.

Lion on the dock of the bay
Working in an office by the Thames, I had to come up with a stylised lion design within an unfeasibly short space of time. However, an hour later, we had this. They printed “fur” texture paper with the appropriate colours on either side. I think it turned out quite well.

Tweety-pie
Have bit the bullet and signed up for twitter, so look forward to losing even more time to online distractions. However, I guess it needs to be done from a commercial point of view.
Enjoy my prattle here https://twitter.com/nickorigami
Here’s another model from a recent job, my elephant.

Origami Didactics in Sheffield?
I am organising an origami didactics one day event, to introduce basic folding skills to Sheffield teachers. Does anyone know a good way to send a message to all schools? There used to be an internal mailing list, but now, apparently, I have to mail each school individually. I can’t find a facebook group or any local teaching forums.
Ideas welcomed!

Pork Scratching
I’m working on some designs requested by a client, one of which it Quentin Trollip’s pig. I’ve not made this before, but it’s full of character. You can find both videos and diagrams on the web, much to Quentin’s chagrin.
Below is a test fold, made using my favourite mi-tientes paper. Of course, I’ve agreed this with Quentin first. He is a genuine talent and a nice guy as well. Several female BOS members I know were quite dismayed when he left the UK – talented? Good looking? Bah ;)
