This portrait of Rizal [Left] signed by Telesforo Sucgang in Madrid on November 1, 1891[Upper Right] is the most unflattering, and is said to be the best likeness painted from life rather than a photo. It presently hangs in the Rizal Shrine Fort Santiago. On the back [Lower Right] are the names of friends who presented it to Rizal as a gift: E. Ruiz, T. Arriola, O, Rienzares, and T. Sucgang.

My first time in the Manila Hotel Macarhur Suite
My first time in the Manila Hotel Macarhur Suite.
The original suite occupied an entire floor and was luxuriously furnished for Douglas MacArthur. When he was billed, MacArthur reported it to Manuel Luis Quezon who solved the problem by getting MacArthur appointed Honorary General Manager of the Manila Hotel.
An Amorsolo portrait of the general on the wall behind me. Thanks to Emil Yap and Marvin Kim Tan for access.
