I forgot to post this photo last Saturday. Jaime Cardinal Sin was one of the main players of EDSA 1986. As you can see he does not resemble the horrible statue infront of the Manila Hotel. Im glad that caricature has been taken down and replaced with something that captures the Cardinal's likeness.

This sign is self=explanatory, customers just have to try the food to know if the sign is true or false. We can try the food but not the kitchen :)

This photo is quite rare because Rizal isnt in a coat or overcoat but in fencing attire. It is not a left to right stiff photo but an action shot of Rizal and Juan Luna showing off their fencing moves in Paris.

Murder in Cabanatuan
opinion.inquirer.net
Cabanatuan today is a first-class urban city that for a time was designated as the capital of Nueva Ecija. Its present claim to fame, if Wikipedia is to be trusted, is that it is the "Tricycle Capital of the Philippines," which probably puts it in the running as one of the noisiest and most polluted...

Tintin is now part of my favorite nephew's childhood as he is mine. I re-discovered Tintin in the original French when I was in college and it was a great way to learn a new language.

Long before we associated the name Ayala with Makati and upscale shopping malls, they founded in 1834 a company that made prize-winning spirits. They had a factory in Manila, Capiz, and Pampanga that bottled their products in distinctive bottles.

Textbook history tells us that Emilio Aguinaldo was captured in Palanan, Isabela by Frederick Funston in 1901. We are not told that their sons Frederick Jr. and Emilio Jr. came across each other in Westpoint and were made to shake hands. This photo from the collection of Edward de los Santos.
