The U.S. broke the tie by evacuating Marcos from Malacañang to Hawaii and recognizing Cory as the rightful president. But then even if the U.S. chose Marcos how could he govern in the face of People Power?

One of the rare issues of La Solidaridad that has a photograph is from September 15, 1894. Ferdinand Blumentritt is on the front page. This is one of the interesting items in the Blumentritt papers, State Archives of Bohemia, Ceske Budejovice. I had only two days to rush through the boxes. I hope to return someday and go through every item in the collection at leisure. Many thanks to the Czech Embassy in Manila and Ambassador Jarodlsv Olsa for arranging a two week trip to trace Filipiniana in CZ...

I bump into Makati Mayor Abby Binay often at the Sunday Legazpi Market. Today, [Bottom] we chatted over a Sharon Cuneta record at the vinyl stall.I told her it's good to see the mayor walking about her city because I used to see Lito Atienza (Manila Mayor 1998-2007) walking on Sundays at the then Legazpi open Carpark.
