Deadly Puzzles is Live in Audio

Deadly Puzzles Audiobook is Live!

Deadly Puzzles Audiobook

I’m excited to let you know that Deadly Puzzles, Book 3 in my Mapleton Mystery series, is now live in audio at Amazon, Audible, and iTunes.

Narrator Steve “Captain” Marvel is the narrator once again, and once again he did a wonderful job. But don’t take my word for it.

The first review is in, and I’m thrilled! “Six” Stars out of Five.

Here’s what reviewer Victoria J Mejia-Gewe had to say:

I loved this book! I loved the previous two books in the series, but t...

What’s Cooking Wednesday – Spice Rub

Spice Rub

I made this spice rub for a slab of baby back ribs, but it would work for any meat you might want to grill. (It would probably work for slow roasting or a crock pot as well.) Adjust the spices for your own heat preferences.

Draft 1, Chapter 1. Who’s it For?

Draft 1, Chapter 1. Who’s it for? The author or the reader?

slow down sign

Readers are impatient these days. When they open a book, they want it to suck them in from the very first page. First paragraph. First sentence. This can pose a problem for the author who wants to get everything out there to hook the reader as soon as possible. Oftentimes, it’s too much, too soon.

My first “rule” of openings is “Don’t assume your reader knows anything about the book.” This holds true whether it’s your first book, or...

Guess the Release Date for Deadly Puzzles in Audiobook

Deadly Puzzles in Audiobook

Deadly Puzzles Audiobook According to ACX, there were no uploading issues with the  Deadly Puzzles audiobook narration, so it’s now in the queue for ACX’s Quality Assurance team, where they make sure all the files meet their standards. After that, it goes to the retail team to be uploaded to Audible, iBooks, and Amazon. Unlike with my ebooks and print books, I can’t set a specific release date.

So, while I’m waiting (and I hope you are, too), how about some fun. As I mentioned Monday, I ha...

What’s Cooking Wednesday – Mom’s Easy Marinade

Hubster said, “Get something to grill” when I was leaving for the store. I found some top blade steaks on sale, and since grilling isn’t the first choice for this cut, I opted to marinate them first. Mom’s had this recipe for an easy marinade around for much of my life, I think. She used to use it on flank steak. When our son was a Boy Scout, I “suggested” to his leader that hot dogs, often eaten cold right out of the package, wasn’t teaching these boys anything about cooking, which was one o...
