Reshaping the American Dream
Dear Friends,
The day after Thanksgiving is the perfect day for the Dayton Daily News to run my article, Reshaping the American Dream. The holidays are typically the time we reflect on our lives, our loved ones, and the year that’s too quickly gone by as we wonder what the new year will bring.
Yet, there is so much we can do to affect our lives and the lives of others simply by examining our values. Might your New Year’s resolution include a few hours in service to others outside of your family? Our lives are so busy, but I promise you the rewards for the time spent far exceeds any costs. If you can get your family involved, even the better!
I’d love to hear about what’s happening in your life and the life of your community.
Love,
Christine

What if every child knew their worth?
Dear Friends,
Last night we watched the documentary, Salt of the Earth, in the comfort of our warm home. William noted that human life is not valued in much of the world as we watched 50K men navigate a harrowing gold mine pit in Brazil risking life and limb in hopes of discovering anything that might eek out an existence while those they sold the gold to would profit greatly.
What if every child knew their worth was much more than all the gold in the Earth? If each child knew they had a special purpose, would we allow ourselves to be exploited or be the exploiter? Let us begin by teaching children their value and purpose in life so that we can leave survivalism behind and finally begin to thrive.
We are… The Salt of the Earth.
Love,
Christine

“In the past, it seemed the choice was to sit under the Bodhi Tree…”
“In the past, it seemed the choice was to sit under the Bodhi Tree in a state of rapturous bliss, living hand to mouth… or to work for a living. We thought it was one or the other–choose God or choose a house of sand. The lesson here is that it’s all the Bodhi Tree. You no longer have to choose because all of life is the Bodhi Tree. Make all that you do communion with God, joyous, and abundant.” ~ Christine Horner

Wondrous Willow Garners Readers’ Favorite 5 Star Review
“Horner’s debut story has action and adventure as well as nature lore as the animals have to contend with the ramifications of events created by people, but the story really shines in the bucolic meadows by the river where Willow and her friends live. Wondrous Willow is highly recommended.” ~ Jack Magnus for Readers’ Favorite

Unlocking Your Authentic Self Through Mindfulness
“It’s not about raising the bar by expecting more out of yourself, your family life, or the world you live in. It’s about totally removing the bar, setting yourself free to live a more joy-filled and satisfying life.”
Dear Friends,
Truly, finding peace amidst the chaos of your family, much less the world,
can be very challenging. My latest blog on Huffington Post offers these seven ways…
1. Slow life down each day…
2. Thoughts are linear…
3. Give your imagination a break…
4. Say “I don’t know,” often…
5. Higher truth arises from within mindfulness…
6. Your thoughts are not who you are…
7. You are enough…
Please read the entire article for more information. What do you do to remain
true to your authentic self?
Love,
Christine
