Hands-Free Driving

Last winter, on the far left passing lane, I hit black ice under an overpass in a large city on the way to Children’s Hospital during the height of traffic.  All three lanes were full and moving quickly.  Traffic was slowing down in front of me, except for me, a foot on the brake, still going full speed!

I watched as cars to my rear and to my side quickly understood my predicament and began to distance themselves from the woman tapping the breaks, slipping all over her lane, seeming to be launching like a rocket ship out of control.

blog-bicycleMy first thought was how my car was going to slam into the much smaller car in front of me and that this was going to mess a lot of people’s day up. Then came a profound peace that filled me as I surrendered to the situation.  I can’t even say that “I” surrendered, but rather surrender was always present and I just noticed.

A slow deliberateness became part of the story as I emptied of thoughts, as if the story was playing out under its own accord – which is was.  As I moved nearly into crash time, I was “prepared”.  It was what it was.  I nearly let go of the wheel, allowing the situation to run its course.

In a state of full acceptance, it arose to let my car drift left, into the wall of the extended underpass.  At least if I used the cement to slow me down as I scraped down the side of it, I could create space around me so that I wouldn’t crash into the person in front of me and everyone else could shoot around me (reminding me of my days of roller skating when I was a kid).

I began my drift to the left.  Suddenly…  my tires hit dry road and I full regained control of the car and it was over.  Ha!  I know, anti-climatic, right?  (This all happened in a matter of seconds.)

Impersonal Nature of Life

Many of us have experienced unconsciously moving through life at warp speed, lost in the conditioning and routine of the personal self only to witness an unmistakable experience that reveals the deeper truth that we are Life Itself.  It is in contractual awareness that we believe the thoughts that come into our field of awareness to be our own and that we are the author of content.

Yet Life is happening utterly impersonally, from the morning commute to the hawk flying overhead looking for its breakfast.  Why is it impersonal?  When viewed from a state of expanded wholeness, Life is not subjective.  It isn’t even objective.  Life is more like Awareness moving over movie stills that exist eternally, giving it the appearance that life is a moving object in space.  We call life by different names, yet it is made of the same “stuff”.

Hands Free

Most importantly, gained from that experience, was that out of seeming chaos, came a place of rest.  Just like the metaphor of “rest areas” off the freeway of life, I came to an awareness in that I literally could take my hands off of the steering wheel and fully let go.  It only appeared that I was driving the car.  It only appeared that there was an “I”.   It was through this experience that I could glimpse what I  AM – no-thing, appearing as everything.  The Divine Paradox.  What was, what is, and what ever shall be exists eternally.  I can rest knowing that Life IS and that I AM and that there is nothing I need to do.

SERIES: What is God? (Part 2 of 3) Merging Science and Spirituality

OM Times Magazine[As Featured in OMTimes Magazine Online]  In a previous blog post, I opened with an excerpt from the introduction of my newly published book, What Is God? Rolling Back the Veil“Human behavior has reached the height of ridiculousness…there is very little in the world that is of practical value.”

Such is the nature of human behavior as we attempt to navigate the hostile environment of our own thoughts.  For the world, unto itself, is nothing but a lush, supportive and giving environment when we remain connected to it.  Life is but ineffable beauty when we remain connected to each other and our true nature as part of the Infinite.

Thus, it is always a thrill when we do find like-minded souls to join with, have fun and maybe get a little ridiculous!  For ridiculousness has its positive qualities as it begets inspiration and imagination, opening the door to higher consciousness and new possibility.

HISTORY AND THE NOW MOMENT

The Now TestamentMy good friend, Stu Zimmerman, in his personal quest to go deeper, has found the ridiculousness in many old, limiting beliefs, launching a global portal toward re-opening the dialog in a playful and loving way on a global scale.  His project is THE NOW TESTAMENT (www.thenowtestament.com).  Here’s his mission (not impossible):  The Now Testament is on a mission to awaken and empower our inherent freedom, joy, innocence and playfulness!  We do this by sharing entertaining, practical content from many scientific and spiritual sources for us to directly experience more love of life, and ultimately the truth of our infinite being.

And it is time.  It is time for the fusion of science (materialism) with spirituality (non-material) in recognition of the indivisible interconnectedness of the two, as the ONE, known as the Divine Paradox.  In reality, science and spirituality are the outputs of the left and right hemispheres of the brain.  Rather than argue which hemisphere of the brain is more useful, let us come together in appreciation for the significance and relevance of both.  It is both halves of the brain joining together via the cables of the corpus callosum that generate the 3D images we see with our eyes, imagination the spark of Creation.

The first stages of an accepted unified point of view seem to have been received  by the scientific community with the historical announcement of the “discovery” of the Higgs Boson particle in July, 2012; what scientists are calling, the “God Particle”.  Few details have been revealed as scientists continue to study the “data”, but empirical proof has come about to underscore what esoterics have long since understood–form comes from formlessness.

It won’t be much longer until science proves that formlessness is not “empty”, in the context that infinite possibility is “floating” out in space just waiting to couple

with consciousness to beget form.  It is human

consciousness that is the bridge between the material and non-material world.

Can the religious community accept the validity of the scientific study of God–as Creation–from the left half of the brain?  After all, both are ultimately pursuing the same end.

Let us all join together in acknowledgement that we are the authors of our own human suffering and by that end, also the authors of creating an abundant, free, and joy-filled existence when we let go of out-dated, ridiculous beliefs and resultant behavior that no longer serve us. Let us create a global dialogue asking, “What is God?” and “What does The Now Testament mean to me?” Heaven on Earth is not just a dream. Let’s play!

What Is God?

WHAT IS GOD? Rolling Back the Veil WHAT IS GOD?
Rolling Back the Veil
The human race is exhausted.  Human behavior has reached the height of ridiculousness.  The only thing left seems unfathomable.  Yet, the abyss looms large and tangible enough in the corner of our eye to keep us moving away from it, toward something… anything that is better than THIS.

Look out your window and see there is very little in the world that has been created by man that is of practical value.  In spite of documents signed and millennium goals set, we are still mired in the age-old constructs that perpetuate conflict and human suffering.

Whether you are gazing out into your own backyard or the world at large, it seems that much of humanity is still grid-locked in a state of survivalism and competition for access to basic necessities such as food, water, shelter, healthcare and education–even in the industrialized nations.

When we expand our gaze, we see that the Earth is abundant enough to feed, house and even nurture a population of this size.  We see our own capacity to mirror nature through working together cooperatively to create a renewable and sustainable way of existence, in harmony with all of Life around us that is inclusionary rather than exclusionary.

Further, something does appear to be happening.  In addition to the announcement of one of the most important scientific discoveries in recent history, human consciousness is undergoing a shift so profound; the proof can be seen with the naked eye.

THE END OF HOPE
The intent is not to bring you hope.  Hope is the last thing humanity needs at this, “the hour of our death.”  The intent is to dash every hope you’ve ever had so that you may finally be able to move beyond the idea of hope into something more substantial, something more powerful, NOW; though no more physical.

With half the world still mired in war and poverty and the “good” half amidst economic collapse, you may find yourself down on your knees pleading for miracles on your behalf or the behalf of those you love.

Perhaps instead, in a collapse of faith, you find yourself looking skyward with tears in your eyes in hurt and confusion.  How could He continue to allow such suffering in the world?  In fact, is it not getting worse?

No doubt you have begun to ask questions–perhaps for the first time in your life.  If you were raised under the flag that blind faith rather than inquiry is the path to Heaven, now is the time to ask yourself, “Can I absolutely be sure of that?”

For this is no ordinary inquiry.  This inquiry will turn you upside down and inside out.  You will be asked to question everything you hold dear and think you know to be true–even who you are relative to the world.  Even… GOD.

Freedom: An Inside Job

True Story:  A woman walks out from an appointment to discover she has a flat tire.  She could have called roadside service, but it would take one to two hours to reach her and she doesn't want to wait-she's in another suburb far from home.  Instead, the woman decides to just see what happens.
free The woman, in a white skirt with heels, slowly gets out the spare tire, the jack... with no expectations or even thoughts of what's going to happen next, despite the 93 degree heat on hot pavement.
Out of seemingly nowhere, no less than the CEO/Owner of Grismer Tire (huge chain) appears, "Ma'am, do you need some help?"
Jackpot!  He places a call to the closest store to send over a truck to get her vehicle to the store up the street.
A short while later in the store, the manager advises she'll need a new tire, "...there's been a puncture to the sidewall which can't be patched."
The woman smiles, "Don't you have a used one lying around I can have?"
She receives a free used tire and the store waives all mounting fees!
TRUE FREEDOM really is freePerhaps you're been beginning to notice you are expanding beyond all seeming "rules" of the 3D world as you let go of the limitations found in culture and conditioning.  The next stage of human evolution-as BEing is already this-is consciously working together cooperatively to create a gift economy where all joyfully contribute toward literally creating Heaven on Earth; a monetary system being a mark of a primitive society and foundation for creating enslavement and exploitation when misused.
Next, we explore the fear of asking for assistance.  We’ve been incorrectly taught that asking is a sign of weakness, when as WE ARE ONE, it is within perfect alignment of the harmony and balance of the Universe.  It is POWER at your fingertips.  The tire story was not a one-way exchange, but was a balanced transaction in that the store had a tire and service they needed to give away, thus appeared the woman to give it to.  This was understood and visible not only on the physical but on the metaphysical levels.
In Brazilian author Paulo Coelho's book Aleph, (author of The Alchemist), Paulo, amidst a spiritual crisis, is traveling in a Trans-Siberian train across Russia on a book tour accompanied by his spiritual mentor.  As they walk the streets of a Russian city, Paulo remarks to his mentor of the magnificent beauty all around him.  His mentor hands him a cup, inviting him to to stand on a street corner and beg, "Come, give back to the city you love so much.  It wishes to give." *

nothing is ever lostSeldom do we recognize to give is to receive and to receive is the giving of Self to Self; the Circle of Life.  It is the lack of understanding of the larger picture that we become fearful and withhold either giving or receiving and sometimes both!
Imagine if I hadn't been afraid to ask for four new tires for free with that same smile on my face.  As energy is never destroyed but merely changes form, I intellectually understand no one would have suffered a loss by providing those tires.  Yet, my culture and conditioning held back the request as I watched myself let the opportunity go by.  Still, I joyfully received the used tire and service they offered for free.  (I did send out thank you cards to all involved.)
The Universe has demonstrated time and time again there is plenty to go around and that it operates "free-ly".  This week alone, I received a tire/service, a used laptop is on its way, a one-hour deep tissue massage, a couple of breakfasts and a friend offered the use of her pool anytime I'd like-all for free!
LET GO OF THE FEAR AND SET YOURSELF FREE!

The Art of Making Love

lovers We secretly desire to speak of IT.  The sensuality IT evokes is the sensuality of Life itself, yet as far as the consciousness revolution goes, we have yet to move IT beyond the bedroom, whispers and the titters of laughter of private jokes.

But, oh, when we do...

An insatiable longing resides deep within. It is the unquenchable desire for the intangible called intimacy. You seek not to find yourself, but rather, to lose yourself in another. Are you truly willing to fully let go; to be open and vulnerable?

Intuitively, you know that making love is the reconnection to life itself as the experience of the life force you carry within that is your very nature. It is through the mind, the body, and then the letting go of the mind and the body, that we reconnect with Spirit, the three merging as the One. Let's Dance

We are ready now to emerge under a new (more accurately: return to) state of expression of Wholeness.  This happens when we see ourselves as the expression of Love itself.  Not separate from IT, we are complete within.  We then come together as the expression of this Self-fulfilled Love, the two already whole - rather than in fear-based lack and need.

Relationships and even the way you relate in life are transformed right before your very eyes. The Art of Making Love is about making love every minute of conscious existence, not just grabbing a few moments in the bedroom or seeking love outside yourself. ALL of Life is making love.  How we desire to talk about this... the sensuality all around us!

Intrinsically, we sense the expression of the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine is the Dance of Creation beyond the obviousness of procreation. It is perpetual, alive in every moment, not just in the bedroom, but beyond, if only we but pay attention. It is this noticing that is The Art of Making Love.

ad-contest-amlTo begin to raise the vibration of lovers around the world and open the door toward expansion in The Art of Making Love, I am making His and Her Secrets available before the release of my upcoming book, The Art of Making Love, scheduled for publication Valentine's Day, 2013.  What I am offering you is the outward expression of this way of living that can even be applied down to the level of the physical toward a more fulfilling and joyful life.

A few come to know these Secrets in later years, many never at all. What if you knew these Secrets now?

I promise - you won't be disappointed.  Receive a free copy of The Art of Making Love for your e-reader when you support this web site.  Click here for more details.

Hands-Free Driving

Last winter, on the far left passing lane, I hit black ice under an overpass in a large city on the way to Children's Hospital during the height of traffic.  All three lanes were full and moving quickly.  Traffic was slowing down in front of me, except for me, a foot on the brake, still going full speed!

look-maI watched as cars to my rear and to my side quickly understood my predicament and began to distance themselves from the woman tapping the breaks, slipping all over her lane, seeming to be launching like a rocket ship out of control.

My first thought was how my car was going to slam into the much smaller car in front of me and that this was going to mess a lot of people's day up. Then came a profound peace that filled me as I surrendered to the situation.  I can't even say that "I" surrendered, but rather surrender was always present and I just noticed.

A slow deliberateness became part of the story as I emptied of thoughts, as if the story was playing out under its own accord - which is was.  As I moved nearly into crash time, I was "prepared".  It was what it was.  I nearly let go of the wheel, allowing the situation to run its course.

In a state of full acceptance, it arose to let my car drift left, into the wall of the extended underpass.  At least if I used the cement to slow me down as I scraped down the side of it, I could create space around me so that I wouldn't crash into the person in front of me and everyone else could shoot around me (reminding me of my days of roller skating when I was a kid).

I began my drift to the left.  Suddenly...  my tires hit dry road and I full regained control of the car and it was over.

It isn't even objective.  Life is more like Awareness moving over movie stills that exist eternally, giving it the appearance that life is a moving object in space.  We call life by different names, yet it is made of the same "stuff".

HANDS FREE

Most importantly, gained from that experience, was that out of seeming chaos, came a place of rest.  Just like the metaphor of "rest areas" off the freeway of life, I came to an awareness in that I literally could take my hands off of the steering wheel and fully let go.  It only appeared that I was driving the car.  It only appeared that there was an "I".   It was through this experience that I could glimpse what I  AM - no-thing, appearing as everything.  The Divine Paradox.  What was, what is, and what ever shall be exists eternally.  I can rest knowing that Life IS and that I AM and that there is nothing I need to do.

The Transparency of Now

We have entered a new transparency. Recognizing ego in its role as "perception", rather than identifying with it, we observe ego playing out as drama in others and most alarmingly, in ourselves, nearly instantly. This is making for some very interesting moments.

transp As the Seer, Awareness may lead us to believe we are the author of content or to allow the "I" to see beyond content to the fullness and perfection of the I AM, which is your true nature - translated, rather than the objects in the story, you are the spaciousness surrounding them as Pure Awareness.

If you are still bound by "story", this newfound "power" can be used by ego to destroy as judgment calls forth angry words or by Love to heal what is appearing by just witnessing it without judgment.

To ego, it appears we have a choice in all these matters, but the reality is, it all just IS.  All of Creation is complete.  No thought is required to further generate more Creation nor more or less story.  Past/Present/Future are not occurring simultaneously in the now, infinite possibility exists AS the Eternal Now.  As Ramesh Balsakar says, "It's already in the can."  What an amazing shift in perception when contemplated upon!

For those of you experiencing great losses in your individuated corner of the Universe, the consolation is that with every loss, an exquisite Gift awaits you, to be received when you are ready. But, it is not until the loss is let go of that the Gift can be received.

Meet Vicki Woodyard, writer and author of "LIFE WITH A HOLE IN IT:  That’s How The Light Gets In".  I've been enjoying Vicki's heartfelt Notes on Facebook as she takes us along with her on her spiritual journey.  Vicki lost the love of her life recently, her husband of many years.  Despite the grief-filled tears of sorrow, Vicki manages to hold fast her gaze on the perfection in Life itself and to the Light she holds within.  My gratitude to Vicki for joining us under the Bodhi tree to share a slice of her Heaven on Earth.  ♥

Woodyard False Hope by Vicki Woodyard

I woke up this morning after a nightmare, the third one in a row. Many of you sent me love last night. Thank you. Love has a way of pushing its way in through the ego’s defenses,  just as fear and negativity do. None of us are safe in our flimsy little structures of separation. We will be loved and hated no matter what we do.

As I said, I do not write for money. It is only my ego that wants my book to sell. I do not need donations; I really don’t. My ego tries to tell me that other writers get paid, why not me. Don’t listen to it, I say. Just keep writing. And I am choiceless in this matter.

I love getting comments, as all writers of Notes do. I especially like the honest ones; the ones where you say how human you are. For all of this neoadvaita crap is like eating piles of sugar with no salt. It has no savor. The savior arrives when we see this. “There is none good, no, not one.”

I wish you could see me. Sitting here in my black robe with its leopard collar. Furry slippers and my aging face. I ordered some Oil of Olay Definity from Amazon because I vowed to take better care of myself. I use Pond’s as a moisturizer. I wear no eye makeup and refuse to give up my bifocals. However,  I do need to get trifocals for the computer screen. Ah, the wonders of being 69, such a rude age to be :)

I am one powerful old broad, all things considered. I have bent remarkably but never broken. Never made it to the funny farm stage. There is such an overwhelming sense of loss with me that it gives my readers hope that they, too, can overcome anything. The tears behind these eyes are real. Lately I know my daughter is desperate to reassure me that she is always with me.

What matters to me is these hints of heaven that are coming in through the grace of others. They are bent on helping me through this part of my life. A life that looks like one of increasing solitude; it is this I have chosen and therefore must embrace. For I have no interest in cultivating a social life. Never have, never will. I find myself the happiest when I am doing what I am doing now. Letting the light shine through fingers that know they are about their Father’s business.
