Award-winning and bestselling speculative fiction author and artist Raven Oak is best known for Amaskan’s Blood (2016 Ozma Fantasy Award Winner, Epic Awards Finalist, 2019 Reader's Favorite Award Winner), Amaskan's War (2019 UK Wishing Shelf Award Finalist), and Class-M Exile. She also has several published short stories in anthologies such as Untethered: A Magic iPhone Anthology, Magic Unveiled, and Swords, Sorcery, & Self-Rescuing Damsels. Raven spent most of her K-12 education doodling stories and 500 page monstrosities that are forever locked away in a filing cabinet.

When she’s not writing, she’s getting her game on with tabletop games, indulging in cartography, or staring at the ocean. She lives in the Seattle area with her husband, an

Day 171

Welcome to Day 171 of quarantine…at least for me and my partner.

That’s 5 ½ months of isolation as we haven’t left our house expect to drive the car and recharge its battery every few weeks. Not even to grocery shop. Everything is done via delivery for us.

"2.5/5 stars

Alright, I think I'm awake enough to explain the rating now. Odd that I've never really felt the need to explain myself before, but for this book, I am? Nothing makes sense.

I want to preface this by saying I am a long-time 'Try Guys' fan. " Read more of this review »

Making Connections: 3559. AMASKAN'S BLOOD by Raven Oak 8 61 Mar 19, 2015 07:56AM
Andrew Boyd
“Compassion hurts. When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything. And you cannot turn away. Your destiny is bound with the destinies of others. You must either learn to carry the Universe or be crushed by it. You must grow strong enough to love the world, yet empty enough to sit down at the same table with its worst horrors.”

Somehow I totally missed this question! Eek!
Writing is going well! Amaskan's Blood is coming out in January and I've got a sci-fi novel coming out in the summer of 2015. How about you?
Are you talking about the ECWC or Emerald City Comicon?
