Running with the Devil Expanded Edition
To those of you who have reached out asking when my contribution to the Aged to Perfection box set will be released on its own and if it will end up being a full-length novel, the answer is…..
I’ll get it released as soon as it’s all done being expanded to full length. This means there will be substantial changes to the story but not the overall plot. The couple will remain the same but the events will be drawn out and additional scenes will be included. It will go from a novella to a full length.
I’m offering it on preorder for only $3.99 since the novella version was included in the box set. It will go to full price upon release.

A: Put the time in to learn and study the genre. Understand the key elements of the genre. And then have fun!

A: It's a story about redemption and a second chance at love.

A: Joy, magic, and laughter felt like a valuable and necessary direction to go in with everything we've gone through over the past few years.
Q: What is something you hope the readers take away from your story?
A: If readers can glean joy from it, if they get that magical feeling, if they laugh out loud at least once, I'll be happy. And if reading Mandi's story makes them happy too, even just for a little while, I'll have thoroughly accomplished what I set out to do.

Author Q&AQ: Tell us about your experience writing a book for the Aged to Perfection Anthology.
A: It was a bit wild. I had a story in mind and was several pages deep before I realized that story wasn't ready to be told (it will be, just not now). Instead, Edwina Gale (who is one of my favorite characters) kept showing up with her witchy self, telling me I needed to write HER story. So I gave in and did what she wanted. Once I did that, the words just flowed like melted chocolate being poured over a hot donut.
Q: Tell us a bit about your story.
A: Edwina Gale is used to tracking down supernatural bad guys, but when her romantic weekend is interrupted by the murder of a drag queen, she's determined to solve the crime before an innocent person is convicted.
Q: Why was this story important for you to tell?
A: I guess Edwina Gale is the sort of person I'd like to be in 15 years. She isn't sitting in her chair, watching Judge Judy and waiting for the end. She's out there following her calling, using her magic, and living life to the fullest.

Author Q&AQ: What was your favorite part of writing Paranormal Women's Fiction?
A: Growing older is a part of life and we want to celebrate and demystify some of those parts through fiction. Women in midlife face our own set of issues and challenges—empty nests, widows, divorce, menopause, health, etc.–and these issues deserve to be addressed and embraced in literature. I wanted to write about women my age having adventures, finding magic and friendships, while entering that next natural chapter in life. Clearly readers wanted it too because they cannot get enough of this genre. The support has been overwhelmingly positive.
Q: What words of advice would you give to new writers who are just starting in the genre of Paranormal Women's Fiction?
A: If you’re 40+, tell your truth. There is no ‘one’ midlife experience. If you’re not yet of that age, talk to women who are and listen to their experiences, their joys and pains. I love to listen and learn from the women who have gone before me.
Q: Tell us a bit about your story.
A: Tamara is a character I’ve been wanting to write for a long time. She’s the only “normal” unmagical one in her family, and she proves you don’t have to have superpowers to save the day.

Author Q&AQ: What's a misconception about midlife that you'd like to clear up?
A: That your value is less. This is absolutely not true. Experience, and knowing yourself is such a rewarding place to be.
Q: Tell us a bit about your story.
A: This short story follows an empath, a sorcerer of the mind, traveling to a small town to research a curious case involving a curse. But the town isn't as welcoming, except for one of the local magic wielding men. Is he a friend, foe, or lover?
Q: Do you have a personal connection with any of the characters in your story? Does one resonate with you more than the others?
A: I was told early in life that I was too sensitive. So I wanted to create a character where that sensitivity wasn't a liability, but an asset. By taking it to a paranormal level, it became a power for our heroine.
