Q: What's a misconception about midlife that you'd like to clear up?

A: That it's all bad! I have actually never felt more self-assured, happy or confident (despite the hot flashes, hip pain, and gray hair lol!)

Q: Tell us about your experience writing a book for the Aged to Perfection Anthology.

A: It's been such a great experience. All the ladies (and gentleman) in this anthology are great writers, and bring so much creativity to the table. I am as excited to read the other stories as I was to write mine!

Q: Tell us a bit about your story.

A: Let's see...so I'd say it's a modern twist on the Rumpelstiltskin trope. My heroine is faced with losing her granddaughter to a terminal illness and in that desperate moment, she makes a terrible bargain that changes the course of her entire life. It's part urban fantasy, with lots of werewolves and vampires and battle scenes, but part love story, with a heavy dollop of humor.

Robyn Peterman: My Big Fat Hairy Wedding

Aged to Perfection Author Spotlight:  Robyn PetermanTitle: My Big Fat Hairy Wedding About Robyn Peterman

Q: Do you have a writing routine?

A: I pants and write late at night. Iced coffee with a healthy squirt of chocolate syrup in a Yeti cup is my best friend.

Q: Do you have a personal connection with any of the characters in your story? Does one resonate with you more than the others?

A: There is a little part of me in every character I write. And with some of them, I stress the word little. However, picking one character is like Sophie's Choice for me. I love all of them.

Q: Tell us a bit about your story.

A: A forty-something Shifter supermodel, five supernaturally screwed-up bridesmaids, and a demonic mother of the groom determined to ruin the wedding. This marriage is going to Hell. Literally.

ATP ChariseAuthor Q&A

Q: What's a misconception about midlife that you'd like to clear up?

A: We are not obsolete or past our prime. We are the precise opposite of that, smarter, wiser, focused, practiced, resolute, innovative, seasoned. The idea that beauty and desirability are traits that belong solely to women under 40 is the most preposterous and damaging offshoot of Madison Avenue modern advertising tropes there has ever been. I look around at my friends who are over 40, and I am awestruck at the everything-ness that they encompass. One friend just turned 70 this year, and she is the most vibrant, brilliant, beautiful human I know...still writing, editing, dating, and falling in love. We didn't grow up knowing that was a possibility. But now we are creating a new paradigm for ourselves, and the women who will come along after us. Also, sex after 40 is way hotter and more fun than anyone ever told us. We know ourselves, our likes and dislikes, our bodies. It's honestly the best kept secret of midlife.

Q: What was your favorite part of writing Paranormal Women's Fiction?

A: The relationship between the sisters. While the main story revolves around two sisters in their forties, there are three generations of sisters in this story. While I was writing it, I was missing my own sister. She lives in Louisville, KY, while I live in Los Angeles. My heart has ached all through the pandemic that I couldn't just hug her. Writing this story brought the spirit of our being reunited back to my mind and heart. We have had to work at our relationship. But no matter the bumps in the road, we are one another's fiercest allies and protectors. And there is no one who can make us laugh like we do with each other. Our kids always know when we are talking, because we sound like we are 16-years-old, giggling as we tell our secrets. Writing this story brought all of that into play for me.

Q: Tell us a bit about your story.

A: The story is ultimately about family, the sacred bond that sisters can have with one another, and the ancestral traditions and ties that bind us to each other. But it is also about the possibility that romantic love is out there for each of us, simply waiting for the right time to make its arrival into our lives.

Stubborn Scottish Shifter and Impatient French Vampire

Blaise has jumped spots in the Ops reading and release order. He will release PRIOR to Striker. I know everyone is excited for Striker but he’s being exceptionally Scottish right now (aka stubborn).

And, can I just say Blaise is living up to his fiery name (rawr!), much like his book title, he’s coming like a Bat Out of Hell VERY SOON!

My hope is to have Bat Out of Hell release before the end of Nov (sooner if possible). As for Act of Freedom, as soon as Striker behaves, I’ll have a clearer idea of his release date. Expect it to be the start of 2022. In the meantime, ignore the emails from the vendor about date changes. He’ll release when he’s all set to release. I’m sure you’d expect nothing less from him since he’s well known for being difficult.

Paranormal Security and Intelligence operative and lion-shifter Malik “Tut” Nasser’s past is about to catch up to the ancient Egyptian.

When he agreed to help test a drug that could help supernaturals with control issues, he never thought it would have the opposite effect on him. So when he finds himself fighting the urge to lay claim to a human woman he’s far from prepared for what happens next.

Winning an all-expense paid trip to Egypt felt like a dream come true for Brooke Larner. Everything in her life is lining up perfectly—even the handsome new man she’s found herself attracted to. Before long she’s handing over more than just her heart, thinking it just might be for keeps. When it doesn’t go as planned, Brooke finds herself running right into the hands of madmen bent on creating super soldiers. And she soon realizes that creatures from stories and nightmares are altogether too real.

After five years of searching for Brooke, Malik has finally reached his breaking point. Already the obsession to find her left him shifting into a lion in a very public place before being forced on mandatory leave. Still, he can’t get her out his mind. The suppression drugs have been out of his system for years. The burning desire for Brooke should have gone with them.

It didn’t.

So when chance leaves their paths crossing once more, he realizes destiny is at play. The only problem is, she doesn’t trust him and she has a secret she’s willing to die to protect.

As demons of their past resurface, they find themselves in a battle to save everything they hold dear.
