Seeking a Thriving World (Part A)
What lack of cleanliness and disease did to Europe in the middle ages -- so was done to the world with aggression and torture in the last century. Mechanized genocide had become too easy.
It is though metaphorically we are fighting injustice and death with crude sabres and clumsy knives. Instead, we need to be precisely accurate while using the skill of a delicate surgeon with finely made scalpels. The cancerous growth of carnage needs to be explicitly cut from the existence of the human race.
Specifically all of our finely tuned surgeons need to be clear historians and accurate wordsmiths. We need a language that will describe any death completely, any suffering honestly, as well as, illuminate the true meanings of empathy and sympathy.
We need to show that we understand differences including the acceptance of varying thoughts and feelings amidst cultures.
It seems that the words survival, violence, torture and extinction all play roles for members of the human race. Most definitely violence and torture describe ways in which people exert their will when there is no other hope for survival. Survival is only wished for because if you die -- then you are gone. To some it does not matter if the rest of your compatriots live or leave this earth -- because for some they only care about extinction for themselves. Nothing else matters to this the self-centered person.
For spiritual (and sometimes religious) bodies or races and people, the survival of others is of definite importance. [That is the essence of what Jesus Christ acted upon.] In fact, all martyrs for all causes, religions, and societies have been known to die for others. Their suffering proves that they truly die for their friends and family members. This is altruism at its greatest. Heroes are certain in any culture -- as long as hopes are believed and sacrifices are made.
To become a martyr -- or to sacrifice oneself -- does not always mean that one is fighting evil. In a natural setting such as in a body of water a lifeguard could heroically die while saving a drowning victim. Though tragic, the natural setting does demand that evil would not have to be present. Instead an individual's fight against the 'randomness' of the system may be enough to produce a hero.
You may also witness Saint Francis as he volunteered to travel to join the Crusades. He was captured by an opposing Sultan and led to the leaders who freed him only so he would return to his home in Assisi. Somewhere someone showed mercy and forgiveness. I say this to show that evil is not always evil, especially when it is understood that it can be forgiven. In Francis' case it was a man of a different culture than his who showed him mercy and let him go home.
There is a time and place for every culture to have its moment in the sun. When this happens each person must be valued and all worlds need to be made special. We will need to identify and isolate the negative and thereby accentuate the positive. The many and varied virtuous people will then be able to thrive more fully in the world. [There will be more in Part B.]

The Choices for Our Human Species
Admittedly, answers can be difficult to come by. For me it is necessary to look at the negative so that I may move towards the positive and find solutions. Specifically for the sake of all humans we all have to find workable answers together. In the end, it is the "survival of the human species" which we seek. We will need to find a true niche for us in the universe. In the essay after this one I will offer a more positive viewpoint -- for now, however, we have to consider the more difficult 'tracks'.
I have witnessed on film a large snake swallow and consume a full grown crocodile -- but this is not the worst of it. The most feared and ruthless killer in Africa is a vegetarian -- the hippopotamus. I ask you -- why do animals kill? Do we all know that to lose just one fight means that one will be eaten? What should we expect from man?
Certain small cats, such as the bobcat, the lynx and the domesticated kitty, kill more than they can eat -- indiscriminately. The Stigma of the Mentally Ill: Bob Does Everything Backwards
Notice that the 'big cats' and the wolves both use an almost 'humane' way of killing, by quickly cutting off the neck (windpipe) to suffocate their prey. Most all animals do not overkill -- none that I know actually torture. It is my humble opinion that hippos kill for their territory out of fear they are being infringed upon. Many good watering holes are being dried up these days.
What is man's excuse? Why do members of our species kill in excess as well as use torture while harming others? Why are there annihilists who just want to destroy?
The answer could be in our make-up. Humans focus with senses, limbs and fingers quite directly facing the front -- for analysis and concentration. Potential for both good and evil is great. But why are we evil enough to advertise and cause great pain before death? What goes on in our brains?
Take four examples:(1) ISIS who have factions that burn and behead people. (2) Witness the Vice-president of South Viet Nam years ago who passed judgement on a man and on the street shot him in the head (LIFE magazine -- 1969).(3) See the U.S.A.'s executive branch be implicated in torture by 'water-boarding' political prisoners. (4) Finally see the ultimate of modern horror with the Nazi's who made lampshades out of human skin (Dachau).
All of these tortures together beg the question -- what is left? Does violence with the aftermath of torture guarantee that people will be on your side? Why do there have to be "sides" at all? What happens to the witnesses of torture? Do people assume that torture will guarantee extinction of another people? Or set of behaviors? Did early tribal primates eat their enemies after the killing was done? It goes to show that mankind has not evolved out of this survival mode because even with technological growth grave atrocities still occur. Just look at Nazi Germany (or any modern day genocide for that matter).
Once when I was in a psychotic state of mind I believed that aliens were coming to earth to eat the 'inner' brains of humans. I had thought that the aliens would enjoy the "high" provided by biting into our exotic brain chemicals. Though this did not pan out to be a true thought -- our brains do have something to do with torture.
Torture is a way of getting attention and instilling fear. Some people in fear become malleable -- others fight the foe. In short torture is a rallying cry for a people. For the group who is doing the torturing -- they seem to be testing their God (or gods) to see if they should survive or become extinct. They also seem to have the mistaken belief that from their 'righteousness' they can do anything without consequence. In their eyes no rules apply to them.
For the group that is being tortured; they are being told that their presence in the world threatens weaker people. These victims fear extinction and are boxed into a corner. It is this group -- the ones that the torture is being directed towards who determine just how the fight will be won. Does an entire race have to suffer or is this a war of ideas? To show that mankind can evolve at all from the monstrosity of torture then certainly strong quick decisions have to be made. In the end, to make sure mankind is positively evolving, all ideas must be discussed in peace. Guns, swords and plows notwithstanding, we need to talk. True questions of tolerance need to be discussed.
Anger erupts when dealing with others who have a psychological need to hurt other living beings. Good and evil may play roles but definitely the negative may also be attributed to some sort of disease. Although swift action many times must be taken, it should be known that admittedly or not, the core of all of this hate is centered around fear. Why should the mere presence of a group cause so much ill feeling that others want them obliterated? If we are going to hate that much then really why should any man ever really gain, "The keys to any kingdom" at all? Will we never admit that we are weak with fear instead of strong with hate? Therefore it becomes necessary to decently supervise the ill until the innocent are spared or until the healing comes. We really only know how to relate to others in this world once a positive trial can be witnessed. No amount of ostracizing others will solve the problem.
When an animal loses a fight many times it is eaten. Remember that love will mean nothing until we get the notion out of our brains that just by losing one fight we will be obliterated, become extinct or consumed. Too much adrenaline goes into our arguments and games. Never do we consistently act with the wisdom that there will always be another chance. Too often do we see ourselves on a life and death battlefield instead of using the thoughts of an athlete with the knowledge that the next season is just around the corner.[Parenthetically, the ebb and flow of a democracy also means that a new government can peacefully be just around the corner.] Finally -- the last finality -- creates the legacies we want ourselves to live by. Yes, a man should not be known for how he dies; but more for how he has lived. Together we can live and create a joint legacy -- a true good history -- with all of us having a part worthy of a strong and essential review.
In the next posting I will attempt to show our healthy differences as we celebrate our lives as unique beings. Please travel with care -- live with passion -- and do not become indifferent to the lives around you.

I have no vagrant's "pipe-dream" that will go up in smoke. This is a view that I have held for years -- this is what I feel. It is time to say why I believe that I would make an excellent United States Congessional House Representative from the State of Delaware.
First I have to say that I have the ideal personality. I can go for days on a project (or a variety of projects) without hardly sleeping at all and with the intensity of a honeybee and the focus of a beaver. In college, I went for years working on my studies and not focusing on a love interest simply by sublimating and by not letting diversions waylay me. Now I can still do this but it is much easier with a long-term relationship as I have with my loving wife because we each know each other well. In other words, our love includes the work we do instead of competing for affections. In seeing the other partner we accept 'en totale.'
Second, I know that at this time I would make a better representative than administrator. I shuttle information to people, explain concepts, take consensus, handle finances all while keeping a strong moral fiber. I am able to be in a variety of groups -- some which have opposing views -- and still maintain my strength of commitment. I am able to have independent views and still hold true to my integrity. I am also able to respect the writings in the Bible and still believe in evolution and a "Big Bang" causation of the universe. In fact I love to keep open to new thought as long as it can be based on precedent and only if respect is present.
Third, although I handle and save what money I can -- and parenthetically have definite success oriented views on the global benefits of micro-banking -- it must be known that I am a humanist too. As a social work intern at a VA hospital in Elsmere, Delaware, I counseled sick patients. I have taught 3 to 12 year-old children how to swim for many years, as well as studied human services and social work at the collegiate level for two years. For over a year I was a Co-Director for a center for the mentally ill. My own experience in therapy led me to learn more about myself and become very effective in life. My experience with other people's addictions has led me to find ample work, worthy answers, and ways to deal with grief.
Personally, I have quit smoking, drinking, and have accounted for every dollar spent in our household for many years. My wife and I live modestly and consider ourselves spiritual. We can attend more than one church and many days find value in different services. All in all, we look at church-going as a way of asking for help -- not 'knowing what is best' -- and a way to reach out to other people with needs.
Fourth, I am a leader out of my survival instinct. Many people are surprised that I am still here. As a friend once put it, "All you do, Bob, is just make it. You just barely make it and then, just keep making it. God bless you!"
I graduated Cum Laude in chemistry from a four year liberal arts school in Los Angeles -- Occidental College. This is the same college U.S. Representative and Vice-presidential candidate Jack Kemp graduated from and President Barack Obama attended. As one might see -- the college encouraged diversity.
Working at a small research chemical company I moved to a multinational chemical firm in Wilmington, Delaware. At one time I audited the night shift on a drilling rig. At another time I worked packing research chemicals to be shipped from a warehouse and then as a salesperson for the same research chemical firm. I do not consider my work in chemistry concerns as rewarding because I studied organic chemistry and not chemical engineering. Specifically by this I mean that through discussions with other chemists I am able to understand concretely what is happening in chemistry, but left to my own devices I do not claim to be an end-all expert. I am more like a chemical manager. At least I know that other chemists are needed.
Personally, I needed to take an inventory of myself -- I was young and mentally scattered -- I needed to mature and learn about people and life in general. Unprepared, young, and lonely, I gravitated about with only 'book knowledge.' If I would have been in a war I would have been a casualty. By living here in this Mid Atlantic region I was able to survive. I appreciate and and identify with the difficulties of many -- for I have solved many of those same difficulties in my life. Experiences have made me stronger and my life is basically very good now. Thank you !!
Finally, certain crimes that had previously been perpetuated onto me in my early twenties resulted in a personality changing infirmity which took decades to heal. I spent years healing from what others did to me and my own personal sensitivity. Now I am ready to face life. Now -- with these experiences behind me -- I want to move to make a true meaning in my life. Now I want to give to others and help society. To begin I have to write. Honest writing helped me begin to get well. Please see my early eBook -- Bob Does Everything Backwards: Writing Out of an Illness
Then compare it to the paperback -- The Stigma of the Mentally Ill: Bob Does Everything Backwards
These writings are a documented account of my mind adjusting to get well. It is a healing -- a spiritual healing that works. Finally, it is a letting go of 'baggage' -- something that I never should have had in the first place. The problem solving I have shown in these books is essential for you to know me -- simply because I have become a man who has not only survived, but who has matured and grown as well.
In the recent and now coming posts I will write about subjects which should be considered by a United States Representative. Please consider my writings and communicate with me about them. Thank you.
Sincerely written, and
Respectfully submitted,
Robert N. Franz

Quit Trying To Fool Me 'Feds'!
[The following letter was written at the end of July in 2015. Since that time I have noticed a greater police sensitivity when the media reports on curbing violent activity in dealing with the criminally insane. I am saying that now there may be more police training on how to handle violence from insane people. This is not to say that all shootings have diminished -- but that as reported there seems to be less killing of mentally ill persons.]
Here shown is the letter:
To the 'Sheriffs' of the World:
I had first written an eBook on Mental Illness -- Bob Does Everything Backwards: Writing Out of an Illness
and you have tried to test me if I would be violent -- or even 'jihad' violent. Give Me A Break Will You!?
You sent me a Pakistani girl via the Internet to see if I would fall for 'Taliban jihad' stuff. You thought you were tempting me. You made me talk about violence and ask why people shoot up others in schools, churches, playgrounds, movie theaters and public places. Why do you do this? How long are you going to be tempting the very ones that need help? Someone should make 'You' the example.
I'll tell you why these things happen. Your whole system is based on isolation. Isolation is the first step towards stigmatization which happens over & over in our society. Certainly I am not impressed with cops, feds, society or anyone else who is bias towards those with social needs. These are the tendencies and even tactics which you use to probe "unstable" people who, in fact, just need to grow and learn. Why do you make people move towards the bad? Where is your compassion?
At least I've got a strong backbone to put up with your crap. Others not so strong buckle and lose their lives -- or buckle in other ways and pick up weapons like guns. Then where are you? Yes you are saying "Tsk,Tsk -- poor souls" or much worse you jump into your 'rescue fantasies' and with uniforms become nothing more than vigilantes.
I am sick of how business and justice are 'accomplished' in this country. All you do is act to isolate then wait until the stigmatized person acts out only to be arrested or shot. When you have waited long enough your 'rescue fantasy' will be too late as well. Then you will hear your own "Wailing", and then will all of us hear those always failing words,"It was unfortunate, but...."
Okay let's all calm down -- I will too!
Look, I have written a book about mental illness. It says a lot -- it reads well. Why are you so afraid of telling me that I write clearly and well? This book needs to be read by many. Here is the title: Robert N. Franz"The Stigma of the Mentally Ill". You need to buy it and review it as I need reviews. I get sick of your empty promises and "to-reads" which I see too often on Goodreads.com. I now have added the book to this blog post. The Stigma of the Mentally Ill: Bob Does Everything Backwards
Finally, I am able to show you the reader my title and cover. I am relieved that once again this work can be considered as highly readable nonfiction. Thank you.
Perhaps I get too involved in the emotion of the argument. Perhaps I feel strongly that leading the vulnerable and unstable to commit crimes is so very unjust. Actually, I only hope that people will learn a better way before making a personal dramatic permanent blunder -- costing a life when such lives do not have to be lost.
I am bound and determined to continue onward. If I have to I'll talk to everyone I may meet and sell each a copy of my book "mano a mano".
Who am I fighting? Those who do not want to see vulnerable people get their due chances.
So much could be accomplished in this country if only we could accept everybody -- have all of us take on decent roles -- and act in the public's interest. Let's get to it. Here is the link to obtain my book -- amzn.to/1R1Oayq. Please go to it!!
[On May 3, 2016 I witnessed KYW CBS 11:00pm News, Philadelphia, PA report on the new training that the Philadelphia police were implementing which dealt with high stress situations. Not only were police body cameras used but actual scenarios were played out and rehearsed. This all was done to save the lives of everyone! You cannot ask for a better response from those who desire to truly keep the peace! This first sign could mean that with more community work our cities and society may get to a better place!]

To the 'Sheriffs' of the World:
I had first written an eBook on Mental Illness -- Bob Does Everything Backwards: Writing Out of an Illness

Sincerely written, and
Respectfully submitted,

Faith: Religious versus Scientific
For many reasons -- we value all people:
Whereas women and men's brains may be more similar than previously thought the structure of their bodies is vastly different. Women are made for 'nurturing' and men -- who in ancient times were more warrior-like -- have been made to be more 'protecting'. The Stigma of the Mentally Ill: Bob Does Everything Backwards
[Please check book link: amzn.to/1R1Oayq]
Even in current Chinese society it is hoped more so that a boy will be born into the family than a girl. Apparently a potential 'protector' is desired over a 'nurturer' because of the over seeing watch power the younger male would have in the responsibility for the care of the older couple. The girls -- who are 'given' to other families in marriage -- are meant for raising new children and making an early home. The young men therefore would be the primary caretakers of the parents in their old age. All of this begs the question of whether society's norms [religion] or social biology [science] brings the values for how mankind cares for individuals.
Values are present in both religion and science. The question is whether which one -- religious or scientific thought -- is more convincing. Perhaps they both could even work in tandem.
In religion we can be scientific because it means that we can study, qualify and quantify to the point that science serves religion. Basic science may be used as a tool by religion.
Consider the friar Gregor Johann Mendel's patient studies of peas in his monastery garden. ["Experiments in Plant Hybridization"(1865)]. Through his early work the study of heredity and genetics had begun. In this case Mendel's theories did not challenge religious thought. We should note that most people knew a little about genetics to begin with -- family members could look similar and also have similar mannerisms and traits. Mendel's laborious work then did explain the other anomalies and differences within families. Soon after his death he was known as "The Founder of the Science of Genetics" -- a title that could only come posthumously because others had to analyze all of his life's work. In this case religion used science and it benefited many.
On the other hand look at how the church treated Galileo Galilei (1600's) when they felt that he purported that 'man was not the center of the universe'. See: "Sidereus Nuncius" and "Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems". The church as state had him locked up and degraded. Religious egotists did much harm not only by promulgating that man 'owns the earth' but that man is not really part of the earth. It took years for the brilliant Galileo to recover to any degree to write more science literature.
The examples of Mendel and Galileo are different but they bring up a train of thought that can be quite disturbing. It does not matter if one is religious OR scientific if one believes that we are here just to use the earth. Simply put, were we just put on this earth by some entity just to plunder and rape? Or are we here to meld in and add to life?
Look further:
See our atmospheric chemicals we put into the stratosphere. Before this time some scientists had claimed that if we could get away with the spewing of chemicals into our airspace then it certainly could be done safely. But now almost all scientists admit that we really do not know the science of the skies as we should and caution should be observed before we keep pumping molecules into the air.
This is one case where we 'lumber' onward perhaps haphazardly plundering our atmosphere. We have got to know that mankind acted first by burning blackness into the sky before seeing what would happen. This occurred back when man first learned how to use fire. Don't you think that we should know more about the constituents of our air at this time? Or at least respect them? Either we have failed to study our air, or our 'science' has failed us.
All peoples and countries basically share our 'Air'. Densely populated countries, richly industrialized countries and poorer agriculturally concentrated ones all use the same 'Air'. A Christian Monarchy like Britain, a Muslim Iran, a Jewish Israel, a Communist Russia and China, a Hindu (& other faithed) India, an Existential U.S.A. and so many more fine countries share the 'Air' -- either good 'Air' or bad -- either healthy or unhealthy. We all must agree on this!!
Personally I want you to consider what I believe. I believe in slow growth with thoughtful discipline including knowledge that comes from both science and religion. Change must come from conservative thought. Action can only be taken when we know what to do and what the consequences will be. This means that we must move with cautious strength.
Finally, realize that 'Air' is always in the state of change -- or state of flux. It is like ectoderm is to the body -- it covers the earth and changes as it is affected. If we were to inhabit the moon or Mars we would have to set up machines or mechanisms where basic chemicals would generate oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and carbon combinations so that we could have gasses and water to live on. Slowly as the atmosphere changes -- we could continue to learn from earth's 'Air'!
Good science can only come in totality when we look at the complete world. In our garden we must place our feet only on firm stepping stones. Our values and progress are determined by educated theory.
Sincerely written, and
Respectfully submitted,
Robert N. Franz

The Visible & the Invisible
In the Catholic Mass -- in a prayer denoting belief -- the people say that they "believe in the visible and the invisible." In this context I feel that the participants are referring to angels, spirits and forces which are not visible to the eye. Whereas believers know this; nonbelievers may assume that these concepts are silly.
But are they? Look at our world right now. We have had 'leaders' like Richard Nixon, George H. Bush and Dick Cheney who basically want to seem practical and not want to admit that there really is the "invisible" which will detrimentally affect our nation's people. Self-centered, condescending politicians do this while 'scientifically' to them the public has the 'wool pulled over their eyes.' These leaders are lawyers and not scientists. Specifically speaking many current leaders fail to mention and ignore the basic facts about the "invisible." Just look at our atmosphere.
Trainload after trainload of black coal is burned into the colorless gasses of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide for our energy. Our ozone layer is now depleted due to the fluorocarbons put into the atmosphere in the 20th century. Now not only are skin cancer rates going sky high, but the carbon 'layers' in our atmosphere are causing carbon dioxide heat 'domes' which greatly affect our weather. Where have our 'leaders' led us? Were they really looking out for us? Or were they looking for their own aggrandizement? Just how much were the O.S.S., C.I.A. and the "oil men" in the same wallet?
Who really cares for our future now? I am not certain what I would do should the United States be under attack -- but the U.S.A. notwithstanding, I would definitely do something. If the "survival of the species" were at stake -- something must be done to ensure a future for humans!
Threesomes are popular in our time. "Jimmy, Bill & Barack" each had to 'make up' for the presidents before them. "'Tricky Dick' Nixon, George H., & 'W'," became story tellers in their own right -- each were immersed in their own self-made issues. A threesome affected the Mideast with "'W', Cheney & Rumsfeld". Then again see "Manny, Moe & Jack" or even yet, "Moe, Curly & Larry". Is this what we want in leadership?
The "survival of the species" is more important than "Big Oil", the "Almighty Dollar", or "Sex in Hollywood". Leaders must now learn to use conglomerates and not be slaves to corporations. Is man going to survive? With what quality of life? With what divergence? In what families? Leaders must be able to show us how to live in this new world. Sustenance & peace are what we need.
I'd rather pray with the Christians (or others) than vote for crafty politicians who misinterpret scientific fact from theory. I'd rather believe in angels, spirits and forces than face suffocating gasses. Finally, I'd rather do something positive for earth than promulgate a mess of trash in this world. Driven to 'Not' Laugh!
When I am driven to not laugh it can elicit a time when I laugh most inappropriately. Sometimes I worry about brothers and sisters who never come out with a big "Gafauw!" Other times I wonder what others think about while laughing.
Expelling air with frequent shortness of breath makes for a laugh. Sometimes one expends energy and becomes sore when dramatically moving the gut. The entire physiological reflex can exhaust, but in the end calm breathing returns and nerves become relaxed. On many occasions I laugh harder out of need rather than knowing if the subject is worthy or not of the attention. It is a reflex that the body and mind need -- sometimes more than what the subject is worth. I have also often wondered if honesty plays a role in laughter -- but right now I just want to look at the phenomena.
I laugh because I feel above the situation. Or I laugh out of stupid ignorance especially when something new is shown or described. When identifying with a character I can laugh in embarrassing situations. I laugh because of powerlessness especially when realizing that, hey, we are all screwed in one way or the other. You may find many reasons for laughter (lol) -- but these mentioned will suffice for now.
My friend Michael hates the fact that some people have mercy on polar bears. He does not believe that northern ice caps are melting and further makes no bones about it that polar bear rehabilitation to him is just another liberal conservation plot made to extort Americans into feeling guilty. Although Michael does have many good character traits, I feel that he is over extended in his hatred for any dwindling species. In some ways I see a man in denial -- hen-pecked by the TV news of the world. Things have become so hopeless as well as we all are so helpless that every one of us is made guilty about our own personal 'carbon footprint'. When things are this bad -- well -- we're all screwed. Laughter comes to me out of the helpless, hopeless nature of where we are all guided with our emotions.
I also find humor when I see ISIS dudes go into a "Cradle of Civilization" museum and like wild banshees attack statues with sledge hammers. When I saw this on television I wondered just how powerful 5,000 year old art is to us. I guess it is threatening to certain self-righteously angry Muslims. Instead of learning just where mankind had come from we actually see movement akin to that of the "Three Stooges". Heck, where is modern man going? -- Now we're all screwed.
Even our ISIS enemies have reason to laugh. Witness Dick Cheney direct bombs that also ruin Iraq's "Cradle of Civilization" artwork. Witness Dick Cheney's love to burn oil all the while scoffing at the 'carbon footprint' made by anyone at all. Why in these two instances he actually agrees with the same values of ISIS!! The laugh is with them.
We must remember that to do the "dirty work" Dick Cheney & Donald Rumsfeld used 'Blackwater Contractors' and not U.S. Marines. Does that give the contractors some sort of credit? More likely other devious means were used. Just what are U.S. Marines expected to do now? If it becomes necessary to 'think like the enemy' does that mean that we have to 'Be' like the enemy and have the same "killing" values? You be the judge!
But let us go further -- see Dick Cheney not know how to swim and build an entire new torture -- "water-boarding" based on his own fears. Again with the use of torture he becomes like his enemies. But now look at the irony. Dick Cheney does not have a heart. In fact he is looking for someone to give him a heart. Dick Cheney does not have 'heart' at all. Yet we know that if Dick Cheney is screwed then we all are. It seems like the Muslim people see all Americans as believing in the same views. We all need to watch out.
We need to send Mr. Cheney to Dr. Oz -- maybe a mark or silly badge will help the world take him -- or perhaps Dick cannot handle a real heart at all. It is all so ridiculous.
It is also odd to me -- yet a little more understandable -- why people would want to go on a one way journey to the planet Mars. In the summertime on a balmy day the temperature on Mars is minus 10 degrees Celsius. Even Elton John knows from the lyrics of his song 'Rocket Man' that "Mars is cold as hell," and that "Who would raise your kids there anyhow?" I suspect that Elton knows we're screwed as well because of all the over sized sunglasses and feathers he has worn over the years. Perhaps someone wants to purchase a one way ticket to Mars for Mr. Cheney and Mr. Rumsfeld. Somewhere someone may want to do this. It seems that all we can hope for now is some honest dialogue after a fair fight. We need to find answers -- not more perplexing problems!
To be honest -- I laugh when I can relax and face my fears. When I worry and fret I do not give myself a fair chance at maintaining a sober calm. So I pray that the parts of my brain are in concert with each other and peace results. I'd rather relax into solutions and not fight with the negative. For me, it is important to help the human race even just a little and do something good for home and homeland. "Do a good turn daily"!

'My God, My God - Furnish Me With Faith'
I have heard of CEO's grabbing a hold of parachutes so they may land softly only to be picked up at some point in the future for new or more accepting positions. Frankly, I want to end my current 'free-fall' and land safely. Right now I don't know if I am a 'ripe cherry' to be harvested or whether the end is coming. I only want hope to see what life will bring.
My experiences lead me to thoughts that I have talents, intelligence and the willingness to communicate. Definitely I want to offer certain people exemplary representation and help communities in urban, suburban and rural traditions. I was raised in Walnut Creek, California which was close to large cities as well as the fertile central valley of California. Our suburbia had apricot and walnut orchards interspersed in the housing. Here in Delaware, our large green trees along with cornfields and deer thickets remind me of the city and country of my youth. From these basic lands come the hard working values of the people. Both conservative and liberal views are found in these parts. Whereas I am not here to meld them together -- I do appreciate the strong values of all the people.
Critics will say that I am an outsider with no way of helping Delawareans move to the future. Others will call me 'green', and still others believe that the strength in me will not last. In particular, these are the very reasons that I would be good as a representative. The 'old ways' do not stand -- 'new blood' has to be shed for our people. Secretly, I really am an "insider".
I want to hold the position of Representative to the United States Congress from the State of Delaware. I recognize that it may take some time to become recognized -- but I honestly feel that my goal is attainable. You need to know that I graduated Cum Laude in chemistry from a college that Representative Jack Kemp graduated from and President Barack Obama attended for his first two years before transferring to Columbia University. That college is Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. It remains a diverse and highly selective institution.
My first public cause has already been faced. I have formulated a 'Twelve Point Consideration Plan' of what a government should do in the case of a community or state emergency. Some years ago -- immediately before the hurricane 'Sandy'-- I recommended this plan to others. Both F.E.M.A. and D.E.M.A. had said that this plan was helpful and made good sense. The public needs help and with emergency planning does not need divisions from our political parties. Did not Chris Christie also need help? I remain a 'conservative democrat', however, but it would not be foreign to me to help a republican when necessary.
Here are some of my views:

When I have been okayed medically(by consensus probably), I want to go to work in an effective and efficient manner. It would be nice to work at a location where people can work out, perhaps at a non-profit where there are programs for families which include all ages, and united to this but not essentially, I could be exposed to managing, marketing, administrative and representative assignments. It would also be possible for me to work at the Delaware Department of Labor or Delaware Department of Corrections -- some work may even be volunteer.
All of this could be a beginning -- a new beginning. Since the future never seems to pan out to what I envision it to be -- I'll just have to accept what comes.
Things are changing."Do the next right thing." "Do what is in front of you." Have faith in others while believing in yourself. "My God, my God -- please furnish me with faith."

I do not care for abortion at all, but I don't mind if a gay couple raises children.

May God Be Praised!
Dear ISIS Members:
"My children, I am writing this to you
so that you may not commit sin.
But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father,
Jesus Christ the righteous one.
He is expiation for our sins,
and not for our sins only but for those of the whole world." [1 John 2:1-3a]
God must speak to us now. If we cannot get along with others in this world then perhaps we do not deserve to live here.
Instead of 'building' you continue to 'tear down'. You may have a sickness or disease that does not make you worthy of this earth. Wanton destruction is for animals -- not men. We must ask, "What are we? What will happen to us? After all, why are we 'stuck' in a sterile desert? Do we know of any better worlds? [There are better ones.] What will happen to all of our descendants?"
Is it true that they may be sent into space to live on Mars? The God of War is on that planet and not on our Mother Earth. Things are not pretty. Any of us can die a meaningless death -- so please be careful. Therefore now repent.
"Now I know, brothers,
that you acted out of ignorance, just as your leaders did;
but God has thus brought to fulfillment what he had announced beforehand through the mouth of all the prophets,
that his Christ would suffer.
Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away."
[Acts of the Apostles 3: 17-19]
"...we now turn to the Gentiles.
For so the Lord has commanded us,
'I have made you a light to the Gentiles,
that you may be an instrument of salvation
to the ends of the earth'."
[Acts -- Isaiah]
"These are the ones who have survived the time of great distress;
they have washed their robes...
They will not hunger or thirst anymore,
nor will the sun or any heat strike them.
For the Lamb...will shepherd them
and lead them to springs of life-giving water,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
[Revelation]
God is bountiful in mercy for those who ask!
You as well! Peace!!
May God Be Praised!

The Question Is How to Communicate With "Annihilists"
As I began reading Does Santa Exist?: A Philosophical Investigation
I thought of the birth of the discipline of logic -- as Eric Kaplan suggests. His was the first book I have read that discussed the inception of "Logic". I have found it inspiring and worth the while to think and meditate on the ability to work for 'good gifts' in my life. Many times I need to look at the negative to approach the positive.
For me, in particular, I think of those people who want to destroy and make void that which has been built by various societies in this world. Those people I call 'Annihilists'. They could be extremists, fundamentalists, jihadists as well as the mentally ill, all the way to you and me. We all express ourselves in society. Sometimes we add to life. Other times almost everybody wants for some reason to make void or destroy something -- either to just plain finish off or perhaps to erase just to start anew in some new way. I have wanted to start anew in my life with The Stigma of the Mentally Ill: Bob Does Everything Backwards
and to be honest I have had to lose some of the past to gain a future.
For this I am fascinated with the birth of the discipline of logic. It has been attributed to origins nearby to early religions such as those that came about in China, India and Greece thousands of years ago. It's main function was to communicate values between sets of beliefs so that people could function in a just sort of way. Many religions interfacing meant that values had to be described so others would understand differences. Individuals and groups could have meaning, knowledge and understanding of the 'people' world about them. Things could be for the positive.
Now we wonder why some groups use atrocities and want to be inordinately cruel to others -- even ostensibly to complete strangers. We wonder why or how an individual would take automatic weapons into a post office, place of worship, transportation hub, or school and use them. We wonder why simple, yet powerful bombs are made to explode in the public arena. The reasons for war seem incomprehensible. Finally, we wonder, "Just what have we done to deserve this?"
Just as sure as the violence being random so can we see an opening to begin to solve the problem. We need to discuss with values a new way of communicating and quit acting innocently as though we are descending from a lofty perch. Were we not taught as children that within Iraq is included "The Cradle of Civilization" where mankind made an early turn to be truly 'homo sapiens'. Why have we bombed their land and desecrated their museums, relics and history? Do we not honor the history of man? Why does the Western world only care for the resource of oil and ignore the history of a people? Do WE have to be so ethnocentric?
Who gave Western comics the gall to make fun of Muhammad and the Moslem faith as they forced a less media sophisticated society to "eat crow"? Once again instead of understanding -- the West put it's values first. Now, can these affronts ever be forgiven? By putting Western values first more enemies have surfaced. Our responsibility lies in our own lack of understanding.
In the simplest of terms I'll say it understandably. "Wasn't one of the wise men who went to see Jesus at his birth from the Middle East?" Because of our search for oil and powerful need to be the 'policeman' for the world we actually end up like the old Roman Empire at the time of Christ. I now know why Pontius Pilate washed his hands before he sent Christ to his cross-trip -- Pilate knew that as mobs and societies go -- only a few could stop the momentum of the usury. To negotiate we have to act above this. It is impossible just to "Stamp Out" beliefs especially when genocide can never be an answer.
As for the mentally ill -- look what we do -- we pump them up with pills instead of just talking to them. No one seems to know the meaning of friendship when the isolated are in need, much less care to live as a friendly neighbor. It just seems that in every ugly instance someone wants "justice" as a means of satisfying themselves by witnessing punishment. It reminds me of the stern teacher who has to 'CORRECT' the child before understanding him. Doesn't the teacher know that he really is doing this out of his own needs instead of those of the child?
In a gesture of mercy Pope Francis has housed families of Moslem exiles in the Vatican. What can be learned from this action? I must ask myself -- What can I do to tolerate others? What in the future will be understood? In all events for us respect for others should be the key!!
If we are going to stop the 'Annihilists' -- any of them -- we are going to have to come up with a new language, a new logic, and a new way of communication which defines everyone's position. We will need to find value and fill the void with substance. We will have to listen closely and not be afraid of being honest in a just manner. A new logic is on the rise. All of us need to explore new ways of communicating.
The inception of 'barristers' [attorneys] in early modern England helped prevent physical altercations. Now we need even more than 'Just' negotiators to prevent strife in America. There needs to grow a new, up-to-date way of logic in our society. Cool heads must prevail before hands and fists come up in arms. Godspeed -- or if you don't believe that, then may the gods be with you.
