Letting the Money Supply Induce Productivity

I don't want to lose you. Please understand that I have been trained in chemistry and I am about to use a chemical model in an economic consideration. Specifically I want to show that the supply of money (money supply) should equal or even lead the productivity of a community or city or county or state or country or even the global economy. It is important to start small and then grow paying attention to detail. Let me start by giving you this description:

A balloon is filled with many molecules of a gas and the molecules apply a pressure to the wall (membrane)of the balloon. Let us say that each molecule can be represented instead of oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen or helium, but by a dollar. Pretend that the dollars are in a bank account and the borders of the account (the wall or membrane) show how much you have. Actually if one adds to the account the balloon will expand and if you let some out it will contract. The pressure you see is the tendency for inflation or deflation -- both visible in the economic world.

There can be different types of containers just as there can be different holdings of money. One small balloon could represent your son's lawn-mowing business while a weather balloon could represent a corporation of some sort. A hot air balloon could represent a government agency and a blimp could represent an entire state or country. A tank -- like an oxygen tank that does not expand -- would be like your young daughter's piggybank for once its full there is no interest or inflation. This would be akin to our grandparents hiding money in a mattress.

Gaining interest in these cases would be like having someone put more molecules into your balloon. Inflation is not the same thing as it would be represented by having more pressure applied to the wall or membrane. Deflation -- like what happened to Germany which started both world wars -- would be like letting air out or freezing(making cold) the molecules so that the balloon would lose a certain original volume. At this point we should look at the results of inflation and deflation for if either become rampant grave consequences occur.

If inflation becomes rampant, then prices go up almost daily and it is necessary to buy your goods quickly because if you wait you will be spending more money at a later date. The money you receive today is less than what you have tomorrow. Usually at a slow rate this can be preferable but at a high rate of inflation over a long period of time changes occur. Look at the American nickel compared to the 60,000 (aluminum) lire of Italy. Don't you think that these two equal coins have changed since the Roman Empire left the globe? Adjustments have to be made both by business and labor when inflation strikes.

Deflation occurs when saving money is more valuable than spending it. Usually it is good to have a discriminating public -- one that knows value and spends intelligently, but if too many people hold onto their cash too long then the savings (profit to business and government) can not be used for investment or research. Advancement in society ceases to exist. People do not have the money to look for options. Not only do we not have a variety of goods but that disease which is making your beloved grandmother ill does not have a scientist able to do research to stop it. Everything slows down -- this is why deflation can be more treacherous than inflation.

If we agree that money is an agreement of means and power then we can determine how to look at it and how to use it. On the books are laws concerning transfers of money, bankruptcy and what happens when people die. Each of these can be represented by what happens with a dollar filled balloon. For example, if a balloon bursts there are bankruptcy laws. You don't think that any self-respecting government would not allow free dollars carrying about in the atmosphere without strings attached. There are balloons within balloons and each country seems to handle theirs differently. What I want to express here is how a government can induce productivity.

I have always believed that productivity is measurable and that it is related to the 'flationary concerns. We want to have slight inflation because it shows that we are growing and that we are adding to our value of society. With deflation productivity is totally stymied and wars are started. With a little growth it shows that we are moving in the right direction. With exaggerated inflation it means that we have been putting our money more into fashion and not towards the solutions of our species or even towards the elimination of disease.

How do we measure this and how do we calculate our calculus? Simply put, there is an answer:

With chemistry's gas laws. Yes that shows an answer.

PV=nRT

Pressure times Volume equals a constant times Rate times Time

(P)x(V)=[constant]x(Rate)x(Time)

If the pressure is the number of dollars and the rate has something to do with the Federal Reserve Rate while Time is just that, surely someone can find the parameters of what a volume would be. Someone has got to define this. Right at this moment I do not have the answer.

Let me think:

First I have to say that I was wrong about the pressure. Pressure is the number of molecules and the force it exerts on an area. An area is an unknown unit squared. The volume therefore would be that same unit cubed. But what is that unit?

In a closed system we would be able to figure out that unit so for right now I have to forget global terms. Let us think small.

What would the total amount of dollars be if I started with a closed system of $100 and a FED's Rate of 10%? To do this I need to find a limit as would be the case in a calculus problem. The answer would be [100 + 10 + 1 + 0.1 + 0.01 + 0.001 + 0.0001 + etc.] Therefore using this limit the total amount $111.12 is generated in this bank.

To use this bank I choose an African village where a number of women have varying skills. (Parenthetically speaking this has been already done by a Nobel laureate who received his award in economics -- I am embarrassed that I cannot remember his name) Anyways, each woman had a different skill that was of value to others and each borrowed a little cash to go into business for herself. One made cloth, one made pots, another candles and another sandals. The micro-bank in this case provided any and all services that a full service bank would provide for these women. Each business was encouraged to thrive and survive in the village. One could pretend they were in a small town in the U.S.A. where personal service to business was promoted. On the whole all the participants became more self-sufficient and the entire community benefited. So, does that answer my question? What is the mystery unit which when cubed will make up the volume? I need a mathematician. Perhaps it could be a simple as the number of borrowers from the total sum. I do not know and I cannot guess anymore.

[At this new writing I can now offer the reader the names of four economists who have won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences having to do with poor African villages. They are: James Tobin, Esther Duflo, William R. Easterly and Dambisa Moyo. The World Bank and it's members have also worked diligently in Africa as well.]

What is beneficial to know is that we can apply models such as these to economic problems. It shows that micro-banking can and does work. Some things are never really known -- that is why sometimes they can be considered constants. At this point each science may be influenced by other outside logical examples. The fact that there is a money supply at all demonstrates that in reality there is productivity to be measured. Please consider that answers lead to more answerable questions.

Thank you,
my best,

A Case for Economic Regulations

Some governments -- mostly totalitarian -- have tried to control their economies. More realistically, leaders now are realizing that this does not work and instead try to simply influence and gain favors for the economies of their homelands. Not until the 20th century did we realize that all countries are involved in a global economy. Unfortunately we had to learn this at the cost of countless wars -- two of which were world wars.

President Nixon, when he was in office tried to control the market with price controls. These failed dramatically. Supply and demand curves became skewed, shortages of goods were observed and 'black' markets developed. Some years later President Carter was faced with a supply problem with gas and oil products. Gasoline was rationed and demand was inordinate. In both of these cases "controls" were a problem. These are fundamentally different from the regulations I speak of in this essay. These have to do with supply and demand of goods and not 'the supply of money' or "money supply" as I mention here. Let me show some examples here:

If you and I live on separate islands and meet to trade we each have certain offerings. I have two home grown pineapples and you have two fish. By mutual benefit -- assuming that we agree -- we can trade one pineapple for one fish and both end up with a good meal. Each of us end up with one pineapple and one fish. This trade does us both good as long as we enjoy variety in our diets. We do assume that a home grown pineapple is worth one fish. All's well until we realize that we are eating up what we are worth. Our profits are being eaten up.

That's where the concept of 'money' comes in. What if we had something -- an agreement of sorts -- that would last through time and we did not have to "eat our products." Say that we were each given two "fartlings" which were made of shiny metal and each represented our wealth. I would have 2 fartlings and 2 pineapples and you would have 2 fartlings and 2 fish. As long as we still viewed that one fish equaled one pineapple our trade would be equal. We could charge a certain amount of fartlings for each item of food.

Let's say that up until now we have been charging each other one fartling for each piece of food. As we have met over the weeks to make trades sometimes we buy more or less of each item but we always have been generally spending one fartling for one pineapple or one fish. There are days that I would spend more and days that you would spend more but we always get back to each of us having 2 fartlings (plus some food items). Soon, though a forlorn pirate comes to both our islands and gives us each 2 more fartlings. We each have our food items and 4 fartlings apiece. What happens then?

At first as astute businessmen we wonder just how many fartlings the other could have. Then the bargaining begins. At first we want to spend 1 fartling for one food item but soon find that the other person is willing to spend more just to get the food he wants. The expense goes up. The food items become more and more expensive. In fact you will find that eventually each consumer will be spending the same percentage of their wealth for the same amount of pineapple or fish that they first spent it on. What does this mean? The price of one pineapple or one fish now becomes 2 fartlings apiece and not 1 fartling. In short, the cost of one pineapple or one fish goes up in monetary terms but always remains 50% of the total wealth of the individual. No matter how many fartlings one has the cost of a food item is one half of his total wealth. This example should be kept in mind as we look at banking regulation.

Please notice that the actual prices increase even when everyone in the system receives an equal increase in their personal money supply. If just one person (or entity) receives an increase just imagine what could happen to prices. The result would be worse than a bad game of Monopoly. Prices would peak and strife to many would result. Most leaders of humanitarian governments know this and try to place safeguards for the vulnerable or very poor.(Yet we know that more opportunities should be able to be found for these marginalized.)But on the other end, what about those who make gains by pulling others much higher in wealth than the wealthy higher middle class? Is not now a time where the middle class is being divided into the "haves" and the "have-nots"?

After (or rather while) the poorest of the poor are getting help, we need to look at what is happening to the intelligent lower middle class. No longer do we want to see the demise of people into helplessness, but we should be aware that just because a person is clever, that quality alone should not make him a mill-billionaire. Just what is the reasoning of today's 'pirates' as to who is going to be wealthy in the future. Where is the disposable income going to be spent? Whose children are going to go to the 'best' schools?

I want to say that I am not ready to support something like F.D.R.'s exploits into Keynesian economics. Vastly he fooled people -- foreign and domestic -- by pulling out all stops and increasing the money supply in many ways. Not only did he "borrow on the future" -- but he seemed to print extra cash all as FED rates were greatly increased. We had a "Guns and Butter" economy during WWII. Strangely, our hopes went higher as "the only thing we had to fear -- was fear itself." Complex times where simple concepts were pushed.

I also question what was done by President Obama in 2008 -- (but I reserve the right to be wrong) -- for I feel something quickly needed to be done in the markets. Saving the banking and auto industries most likely was the right thing to do, yet in his haste the President seemed to ignore the backs of the middle class. Safeguarding the value of the middle class did not occur. Many advantages and much cash went to saving the largest of firms. In other cases penalties for unjust firms hardly seemed enforced. It was not until 2013 that our citizens became protected from much of the the "small print" advantages that the banks were enjoying. Not until 2013 when the U.S. Senate took action to protect the individual did any action result that would help banking for the middle class.

Robin Hood and pirates capture my imagination. For the most part I do not concern myself with the very wealthy or the upper middle class. Instead I concern myself with the middle class, the lower middle class, the vulnerable and the ill. Specifically, it is important to see advantages come to all.

For the middle class I look to improving education and health concerns. For the lower middle class I look to study the effects of a Negative Income Tax where benefits could come from an honest trial at life. This negative tax means that at a specific low level a payment of money would be given to help the individual reach a "living wage". Some of these people could work part time and receive payment, but not as much payment as those who would be completely disabled. It would be supplemental however. In a sense we have some of this system now, but I have to caution that other programs such as those in housing or food stamps may have to be adjusted. Each community could have variations. With the Negative Income Tax, education and health costs would come as with the middle class. The key here is that we give the capability to the lower middle class to improve their situations.

For the most needy group of citizens -- the vulnerable and ill -- actual sustainable goods are needed. Domiciles from the night cold, food and clothing are needed. Emotionally generous social workers and nurses need to be able to reach out to help those who for the most part cannot help themselves. No one should be left alone to die without meaning. No one should not have the ability to dream -- even a simple dream.

Whereas you cannot legislate love, you can set up a system of government which allows for it. Certain regulations are needed to prevent the callous selfishness that comes from being an astute businessman ALL of the time. Controls on the flow on tendencies such as the supply and demand curves are ill advised due to the natural pressures that well-up, but regulations to guide or rather prevent inequities would certainly help in preventing loss that would cause poverty in a variety of ways. Entrepreneurs are able to do business and care for others at the same time. Responsible regulations insure that we all can be cared for with decency. Bob Does Everything Backwards: Writing Out of an Illness Bob Does Everything Backwards Writing Out of an Illness by Robert N. Franz

In a democratic government that works it becomes essential that in our victories we must really let the minority have the right of free speech and expression as long as that in itself intrinsically does not cause a widespread violence. Then peace and prosperity can work hand in hand.

Sincerely,

Robert N. Franz

Human Rights in the View of Worldly Electronic Information

We need to look closer at the types (qualities) of information which are being spontaneously and rapidly passed around the world. When some people become alarmed there is violence and death. All of us do not seem to know what we are doing. The parameters necessary to consider are seven qualities and seven subjects. The seven qualities are types of people who either offend or are offended. The seven subjects are the usual subjects or topics that people find offense about. The question is just how much information should be widely offered on the world internet. Should there be censorship or at least a "blunting" of offensive communication?

Each quality is made up of an aggregate of people: (1) Groups. These can be made up of children, youth, elders, professions and almost any conglomerate of people. (2) Families. Who we relate to or call our own.(3) Religions. Who we believe in and trust for faith.(4) Political Parties. Who we associate with as compatriots or compadres.(5) Countries. What populations and land we call our own.(6) Races. Who we look to be similar. (7) Conditional Concerns. Certain conditions such as mentally challenged or some type of chronic, ancestral disease. Sex and LGBT considerations. DNA status -- but not as in race.

Each of the seven subjects are issues in which there is a strong inclination for people to think compulsively and obsessively about. When another group complains about these issues many groups actually physically 'get up in arms'. Here they are: (1)Sex -- libido influenced. (2) Drugs -- as differentiated from poisons. Alcohol is a drug in this case. Used in hazings it can be very dangerous. (3) Gatherings -- flash mobs, fight mobs, protests, riots, even tailgating parties. (4) Weapons -- anything that is meant to hurt, maim or kill even if it could have another use. (5) Politics -- the action of individuals or groups influencing other individuals or groups including the protection or 'shielding' of others by withholding or the giving of false information. Politics many times is accentuation of facts but in reality makes an impression on those who make up the 'public'. (6) Hate notes. Blatant foolish criticism meant to demean or irritate. [Letting people hear slurs just to irritate. (the n-word or r-word to those who cannot help to hear it.)] Demanding that people see their religious deities portrayed as fools. (7) Hurting others. Inciting people or calling on them to kill or injure others by force, weapons or poison. This includes date rape drugs and hazing rituals which can bring danger to potential victims. Even dangerous "play" which can lead to injury.

We must see that freedom bears responsibility. Please follow me with this logic. Human rights in an electronic world means that we have to consider parts of the world where people think differently. Certain 'pockets' of individuals in groups think differently -- including us. What may be good or humorous for some may mean that only certain circles should be included in the view. Forcing the issues not only could cause sexual misconduct in some areas but deaths over religion. Why should what we do cause strife? What are we trying to prove? How important is it?

I have divided up into three types of expression that which can offend others. (A) Just plain expression -- that is the art of nudes and erotic descriptions of love making. Belly dancing and some politics is allowed. There are some recipes and drinks for the gluttonous. Tailgating parties that may have loud music and flash mobs which can dance are two examples. All in all there is no flirtation with offending others. If there is umbrage, then the politics of countries should bear pressure on the other countries controlling politicos at a later date.

(B) Offensive expression. Keep pornography away from the children and kids. Reduce the amount of four letter words. Do not use the f-word amongst sensitive people. Do not publish how to make bombs or where to find automatic weapons unless there is a way to go to a specific site mandated and controlled on the Internet. Let all individuals and groups know they have value and that they play an important role in this society -- or world if you will. Appeal to the higher senses instead of demanding obedience and then I really believe that responsibility will be adopted. Many of these persons already know that they will have to supervise those others who we see use the third category in this list. Which is:

(C) When expression is used specifically to hurt someone else. Why should we have recipes for poison and date rape drugs immediately at our disposal? Why should we have portrayals ridiculing whom some consider 'holy' immediately all over the globe at the same time? Do we hold anyone in regard? Why does there always have to be a confrontation? Should it be easy to find out how to build a bomb? How difficult is it to make a flash mob violent? -- (Don't ask)."Hey, did you hear the one about the two cannibals who....?" Remember there may be a cannibal in your midst -- because you tear human flesh from the bone someone might assume you are a cannibal. [Don't you know that when you assume you make an "ASS out of U and ME".]

Realize that many times your ridiculous is understood as another person's sublime. And at that point, no one can guarantee their actions once the initial offense has been viewed. Neither can you.

The framework here is simple. There is a good case for limited access to certain information. Circles of individuals should be in groups and should be able to pass information to each other. We know from the malicious use of the Internet, from the 'Arab Spring' and from law enforcement that information has sprung like wildfire in the electronic age and there have to be 'bubbles' of groups who can share but not tear the framework of our society by keeping certain information safeguarded. Don't people confide in others anymore before taking action? Are not 'wiser' individuals consulted before one offends an entire race or religion? Or are we so entirely self-centered that we really just do not care? If we don't care then why are we in the business of influencing people at all? Who cares? What the hell are you doing? There are races of people in the world that you don't even know and all you can do is mouth off in your 'sophisticated' disdain. Learn how to be part of the world and stop throwing satiric rocks at it. It's your responsibility.

It seems -- for an informed, sophisticated society -- that we have to interface from level to level.

Please see levels in my eBook,Bob Does Everything Backwards: Writing Out of an Illness Only by feeding information at a slower rate will people learn to digest more carefully, safely and sanely.

Very truly yours,

Robert N. Franz

My Service to this Country

[Originally written January 17, 2015]

I have no vagrant's "pipe-dream" that will go up in smoke. This is a view that I have held for years -- this is what I feel. It is time to say why I believe that I would make an excellent United States House Representative from the State of Delaware.

First I have to say that I have the ideal personality. I can go for days on a project (or a variety of projects) without hardly sleeping at all and with the intensity of a honeybee and the focus of a beaver. In college, I went for years working on my studies and not focusing on a love interest simply by sublimating and by not letting diversions waylay me. Now I can still do this but it is much easier with a long-term relationship as I have with my loving wife because we each know each other well. In other words, our love includes the work we do instead of competing for affections. In seeing the other partner we accept in total.

Second, I know that at this time I would make a better representative than administrator. I shuttle information to people, explain concepts, take consensus, handle finances all while keeping a strong moral fiber. I am able to be in a variety of groups -- some which have opposing views -- and still maintain my strength of commitment. I am able to be a conservative democrat and hold true to my integrity. I am also able to respect the writings in the Bible and still believe in evolution and a "Big Bang" causation of the universe. In fact I love to keep open to new thought as long as it can be based on precedent and only if respect is present.

Third, although I handle and save what money I can -- and parenthetically have definite success oriented views on the global benefits of micro-banking -- it must be known that I am a humanist too. As a social work intern at a VA hospital I counseled sick patients. I have taught 3 to 12 year-old children how to swim for many years, as well as studied human services and social work at the collegiate level for two years. For over a year I was a Co-Director for a center for the mentally ill. My own experience in therapy led me to learn more about myself and become very effective in life. My experience with other people's addictions has led me to find ample work, worthy answers, and ways to deal with grief. Personally, I have quit smoking, and drinking and account for every dollar spent in our household. My wife and I live modestly and consider ourselves spiritual. We can attend more than one church and many days find value in different services. All in all, we look at church-going as a way of asking for help -- not 'knowing what is best' -- and a way to reach out to people with needs.

Fourth, I am a leader out of my survival instinct. Many people are surprised that I am still here. As a friend once put it, "All you do Bob, is just make it. You just barely make it and then, just keep making it. God bless you!"

I graduated Cum Laude in chemistry from a four year liberal arts school in Los Angeles -- Occidental College. The same college Representative Jack Kemp graduated from and President Barack Obama attended. As one might see the college encouraged diversity.

Working at a small research chemical company I moved to a multinational chemical firm in Wilmington, Delaware. At one time I audited the night shift on a drilling rig. At another time I worked packing chemicals to be shipped from a warehouse and then as a salesperson for a research chemical company. I do not consider my work in chemistry concerns as rewarding because I studied organic chemistry and not chemical engineering. Specifically by this I mean that through discussions with other chemists I am able to understand concretely what is happening in chemistry, but left to my own devices I do not claim to be an end all expert. I am more like a chemical manager. At least I know that other chemists are needed.

Personally, I needed to take an inventory of myself -- I was young and mentally scattered -- I needed to mature and learn about people and life in general. Unprepared and lonely I gravitated about with only 'book knowledge'. If I would have been in a war I would have been a casualty. By living here in this Mid Atlantic region I was able to survive.

Certain crimes that had previously been perpetuated onto me in my early twenties resulted in a personality changing infirmity which took decades to heal. I spent years healing from what others did to me and my own personal sensitivity. Now I am ready to face life. Now -- with these experiences behind me -- I want to move to make a true meaning in my life. Now I want to give to others and help society. To begin I have to write. Honest writing helped me begin to get well. Please see my early eBook -- Bob Does Everything Backwards: Writing Out of an Illness Bob Does Everything Backwards Writing Out of an Illness by Robert N. Franz Then compare it to the paperback -- The Stigma of the Mentally Ill: Bob Does Everything Backwards The Stigma of the Mentally Ill Bob Does Everything Backwards by Robert N. Franz These writings are a documented account of my mind adjusting to get well. It is a healing -- a spiritual healing that works. Finally, it is a letting go of 'baggage' -- something that I never should have had in the first place. The problem solving I have shown in these books is essential for you to know me!

In the recent and now coming posts I will write about subjects which should be considered by a United States Representative. Please consider my writings and communicate with me about them. Thank you.

Sincerely written, and
Respectfully submitted,

The Question Is How to Communicate With "Annihilists"

As I begin reading Does Santa Exist?: A Philosophical Investigation Does Santa Exist? A Philosophical Investigation by Eric Kaplan I think of the birth of the discipline of logic -- as Eric Kaplan suggests. His was the first book I have read that discussed the inception of "Logic". I have found it inspiring and worth the while to think and meditate on the ability to work for 'good gifts' in my life. Many times I need to look at the negative to approach the positive.

For me, in particular, I think of those people who want to destroy and make void that which has been built by various societies in this world. Those people I call 'Annihilists'. They could be extremists, fundamentalists, jihadists as well as the mentally ill, all the way to you and me. We all express ourselves in society. Sometimes we add to life. Other times almost everybody wants for some reason to make void or destroy something -- either to just plain finish off or perhaps to erase just to start anew in some new way. I have wanted to start anew in my life with The Stigma of the Mentally Ill: Bob Does Everything Backwards The Stigma of the Mentally Ill Bob Does Everything Backwards by Robert N. Franz and to be honest I have had to lose some of the past to gain a future.

For this I am fascinated with the birth of the discipline of logic. It has been attributed to origins nearby to early religions such as those that came about in China, India and Greece thousands of years ago. It's main function was to communicate values between sets of beliefs so that people could function in a just sort of way. Many religions interfacing meant that values had to be described so others would understand differences. Individuals and groups could have meaning, knowledge and understanding of the 'people' world about them. Things could be for the positive.

Now we wonder why some groups use atrocities and want to be inordinately cruel to others -- even ostensibly to complete strangers. We wonder why or how an individual would take automatic weapons into a post office, place of worship, transportation hub, or school and use them. We wonder why simple, yet powerful bombs are made to explode in the public arena. The reasons for war seem incomprehensible. Finally, we wonder, "Just what have we done to deserve this?"

Just as sure as the violence being random so can we see an opening to begin to solve the problem. We need to discuss with values a new way of communicating and quit acting innocently as though we are descending from a lofty perch. Were we not taught as children that within Iraq is included "The Cradle of Civilization" where mankind made an early turn to be truly 'homo sapiens'. Why have we bombed their land and desecrated their museums, relics and history? Do we not honor the history of man? Why does the Western world only care for the resource of oil and ignore the history of a people? Do WE have to be so ethnocentric?

Who gave Western comics the gall to make fun of Muhammad and the Moslem faith as they forced a less media sophisticated society to "eat crow"? Once again instead of understanding -- the West put it's values first. Now, can these affronts ever be forgiven? By putting Western values first more enemies have surfaced. Our responsibility lies in our own lack of understanding.

In the simplest of terms I'll say it understandably. "Wasn't one of the wise men who went to see Jesus at his birth from the Middle East?" Because of our search for oil and powerful need to be the 'policeman' for the world we actually end up like the old Roman Empire at the time of Christ. I now know why Pontius Pilate washed his hands before he sent Christ to his cross-trip -- Pilate knew that as mobs and societies go -- only a few could stop the momentum of the usury. To negotiate we have to act above this. It is impossible just to "Stamp Out" beliefs especially when genocide can never be an answer.

As for the mentally ill -- look what we do -- we pump them up with pills instead of just talking to them. No one seems to know the meaning of friendship when the isolated are in need, much less care to live as a friendly neighbor. It just seems that in every ugly instance someone wants "justice" as a means of satisfying themselves by witnessing punishment. It reminds me of the stern teacher who has to 'CORRECT' the child before understanding him. Doesn't the teacher know that he really is doing this out of his own needs instead of those of the child?

In a gesture of mercy Pope Francis has housed families of Moslem exiles in the Vatican. What can be learned from this action? I must ask myself -- What can I do to tolerate others? What in the future will be understood? In all events for us respect for others should be the key!!

If we are going to stop the 'Annihilists' -- any of them -- we are going to have to come up with a new language, a new logic, and a new way of communication which defines everyone's position. We will need to find value and fill the void with substance. We will have to listen closely and not be afraid of being honest in a just manner. A new logic is on the rise. All of us need to explore new ways of communicating.

The inception of 'barristers' [attorneys] in early modern England helped prevent physical altercations. Now we need even more than 'Just' negotiators to prevent strife in America. There needs to grow a new, up-to-date way of logic in our society. Cool heads must prevail before hands and fists come up in arms. Godspeed -- or if you don't believe that, then may the gods be with you.

Sincerely written, and
Respectfully submitted,

Robert N. Franz

The Visible and the Invisible

In the Catholic Mass -- in a prayer denoting belief -- the people say that they "believe in the visible and the invisible." In this context I feel that the participants are referring to angels, spirits and forces which are not visible to the eye. Whereas believers know this; nonbelievers may assume that these concepts are silly.

But are they? Look at our world right now. We have had 'leaders' like Richard Nixon, George H. Bush and Dick Cheney who basically want to be pragmatic and not want to admit that there really is the "invisible" which will detrimentally affect our nation's people. Self-centered, condescending politicians do this while 'scientifically' to them the public has the 'wool pulled over their eyes.' These leaders are lawyers and not scientists. Specifically speaking many current leaders fail to mention and ignore the basic facts about the "invisible." Just look at our atmosphere.

Trainload after trainload of black coal is burned into the colorless gasses of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide for our energy. Our ozone layer is now depleted due to the fluorocarbons put into the atmosphere in the 20th century. Now not only are skin cancer rates going sky high, but the carbon 'layers' in our atmosphere are causing heat 'domes' which greatly affect our weather. Where have our 'leaders' led us? Were they really looking out for us? Or were they looking for their own aggrandizement? Just how much were the O.S.S., C.I.A. and the "oil men" in the same wallet?
Who really cares for our future?

I'd rather pray with the Christians (or others) than vote for crafty politicians who misinterpret scientific fact from theory. I'd rather believe in angels, spirits and forces than face suffocating gasses. Finally, I'd rather do something positive for earth than promulgate a mess of trash in this world.Bob Does Everything Backwards: Writing Out of an Illness Bob Does Everything Backwards Writing Out of an Illness by Robert N. The Learning Curve Is Real

I've needed to learn how to write as well as how to use the computer. A pen with paper still seems preferable, but the gods know that this is how I go.

A Goodreads Expert has advised me not to offer complimentary copies of my work to readers who have decided to place my eBook as a "to-read" to them. Since I have no sense of protocol mistakes like this have been made. The learning curve must be quickly understood and I apologize for any and all obvious blunders.

Please know that I feel that the true meaning of my eBook,"Bob Does Everything Backwards Writing Out of an Illness" needs to be shown to society. The sense of family, sanity, peace, love and humor which is described in this book about mental illness is important to all of us.

Until February 14th, 2015 -- if anyone wants a complimentary electronic copy of "Bob Does Everything Backwards Writing Out of an Illness" please email me at franz.robert12@gmail.com and tell me if I should send it to you in Kindle, Nook, I-Pad, PC or Mac form. At that time I will send you a copy of my work.

Thank you for your time and patience and your interest in these important and current questions. Here's to hoping that we can all benefit. -- Robert N. Franz

"Tight as a Drum."

I think that I am missing the point. For so very long it has been hoped by me to create something -- a book -- that other people would want to read and learn from; something with written value. Something with humor and passion -- something that would help the hopeless.

I've been trying to do this all by myself, without ostensible help from anyone. Yet for so long I've depended on others to help me in ways that I cannot even say. The 'computerists,'-- the hot tea and iced coffee from my wife, Leslie. The love of others which I need so badly comes to me just when I need it. I become 'tight' in concentration and ignore life around me. I even miss the cute conversations between Leslie and our kitty, Misty. My head becomes like an exploding rocket, losing its direction in a ball of flaming anger.

So I am going to do something different. I am actually going to purchase the recent books of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. I am going to read them. I am going to devour them. They are windmills I have to go through to find my 'Dulcinea.' Life will be better when I see it differently -- for I cannot go on as is. There are other people in this world.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Our protagonist is committed to a mental institution. He meets other patients who are needy but have in actuality committed themselves to the hospital. Surprised at this he sociologically creates organized havoc and a rebellion of sorts in the institution. For a short time others enjoy his actions and use him as a model for leadership.

The doctor, head nurse and staff then use Machiavellian methods and perform a lobotomy on our protagonist. Order is restored in the eyes of most characters until the end when the quietly stern, sober and caring Native American patient suffocates the protagonist and then escapes.

Besides making me wary of motives in those who are trusted with authority, this story just plain frightens me.
