Making Remote Work Actually Work

Making Remote Work Actually Work

The prevalence of Internet access and broadband WiFi technology has made it increasingly convenient to work from home or virtually anywhere (no pun intended). More and more U.S. companies are giving employees the opportunity to work from home. In fact, my team at Selling Energy includes multiple fantastic remote employees and thrives as a result. Incorporating flextime and remote work arrangements into a company culture is attractive to both longtime employees as well as new hires.

Sell Like a Doctor

Sell Like a Doctor

Closing a sale can be viewed as something with a Machiavellian spin to it.  There’s the stereotype of a salesman whose mindset is very fixed: “I'm going to close you.  I’m going to get you to make a decision out of sheer will.”  That is not a great way to approach sales.

Risk vs. Certainty

Risk vs. Certainty

It may sound simple, but one of the best strategies for determining the ideal sales approach for a given prospect is to step into their shoes. There is no universal sales strategy that works across the board, so you need to figure out exactly what each prospect cares most about and work that angle into your proposal. So, how do you do this? Talk to people. Talk to store owners, building managers, hoteliers, manufacturers. Ask them, “What would make your life easier?”

How Most Successful People Start Every Day

How do you start your day? Maybe you’re sleeping in because you were up late finishing up that proposal that’s due?
