To My Star (2021)

 I think To My Star had some big holes in the story (if you are an actor who does not want to be seen, you don't go playing waiter in a restaurant, even with a mask...) but overall, it was quite nice. I have a fond for the thrope of the famous lead versus the common man, and even if here is not played till the end as I like (public declaration and all), it's still very nice how Kang Seo Joon is willing to risk everything for his love. As often happens, I also like that the common man, Han Ji Woo, is indeed the steady figure in the love story, even a little bit stoic. Season 2 seemed to ruin a little bit my liking, but I tried to reprime my desire to kick them and went on, and they managed to save it a little bit, at least we have a lot more of interaction between Kang Seo Joon and Han Ji Woo, and the evolution of their feelings. Like in the Movies (2020)

 Like in the Movies was pretty much simple as story, two guys, from what I understand one is gay, one has just no past experiences, start to live together and a love story develops. It's mostly set in their apartment, a very small apartment, so they are basically always together, and the progression from strangers to lovers is slow but steady. There is really no drama, no conflicts, and there are some nice supporting roles, like Vlad's sister, if she continues to say "I'm an ally", I will start wondering if she is not really hiding something. Light on Me (2021)

 Light on Me was real cute, and sweet, with two male leads that are perfect for their role; Tae Kyung is sort of aloof, but he is not rude, he seems just to understand at one point, lucky for him not too late, that he has to interact with the outside world. I like his character, but I really love instead Shin Woo, the gay kid who was bullied in middle school, and therefore is trying to go through high school without being singled out for him being gay, but when he sees Tae Kyung he is lost. I know that many will say Da On was a best option for Tae Kyung, but if I have to be true, I don't like how Da On arrives to admit his feelings a little to late, I'm team Shin Woo, who was always honest with himself. I like how in this drama there is not really a huge conflict or a villain, even the usual spurned woman at the end is quite a nice character. HEA. You can see it on Viki. Heat Level: 3/6.

Life: Love on the Line (2020)

 Life: Love on the Line was all about how you can ruin a romance... I didn't remove it from my list cause, well, it has an happy ending and the actors are very good, but gosh, Ito was so stupid I wanted for Nishi to grow his balls and kick him instead of forgiving him. The story is basically about Ito falling in love with Nishi. I think Nishi loves him too, but he is sort of naivee, almost detached, it's like physical love is not something he even considered. It's Ito that push him, and in the end Nishi trust him enough. Than Ito decides he doesn't want a gay relationship, he want to marry a woman and have children, he arrives to say to Nishi their relationship is barren and therefore not real. Years after is again Ito that decides Nishi is actually his real love and he wants him back. So yes, you have an HEA, but really, Ito is the most egotistical man alive. You can see it on Viki. Kiseki: Dear to Me (2023)

 Kiseki: Dear to Me was probably one of the first I saw, but it's still among the favorites. I don't really like the fighting/mafia setting, and it got a little bit on the unrealistic side at the end, but at least it wasn't a massacre... Anyway there are at least three couples I like, and thier story were all very good. My favorite couple is Chen Yi and Ai Di, from the very first scene when Chen Yi drags Ai Di, firefighter style, to the car. Be careful to that scene, it will say basically all the story in just few seconds. Anyway, yes, I prefer the side couple, but that doesn't mean Bai Zong Yi and Fan Ze Rui are not good together, they are, and it was also a nice twist that the supposed bad boy, Fan Ze Rui, was the uke of the story. And in the end, also Chen Dong Yang and Zhou Ming Lei, the boss and his right hand, were good together, and I just hope theirs is not a bitterweet ending. I liked this series, in comparison to other similar themed series, cause it was actually more comedy than thriller, and even the tragedies (and there are many), resolved mostly in a good way. So yes, sort of unrealistic, but good anyway. HEA. You can see it on GagaOOLala and Viki. Heat Level: 4/6.

The Middleman's Love (2023)

 The Middleman's Love was a pleasant surprise; sure, there are some faults, but all in all, it was way better than many other series I have seen lately, therefore not sure why it's rated so love in the ranking of 2023. Anyway, starting from the faults, yes Jade was a little too much something, and some of his expressions, instead of being cute, were putting me off the mood, especially when they were during the intimate moments with Mai. But Mai, OMG, he was so sexy, and yet so tender; he was this sort of mix of sex on legs demon with an angelic face, and want me to start when he put on Jade's glasses? he was even more sexy. Anyway the sex scenes (two of them), I think they mixed up somewhat filming for sex scene 1 with sex scene 2: the feeling was they wanted to have just one sex scene, but then they decide a second one right at the end, so basically they tried to cut the footage in two. And in sex scene 1, what happened at first? without going into too much technical details, I think they wanted to imply that at first they limited to kisses (and maybe something more), but not full intercourse, and then Jade decided to go for it... but here the awkardness is not actor's fault, it's the screenwriter that I think messed up the dialogue. Anyway, as I said, better than expected. Tutor Koraphat Lamnoi is plenty worthy watching (those lips are XXX rated, he is not kissing Jade, he is eating him), and lucky us, he is in almost all the scenes. HEA. My Love Mix-Up! (2021)

 My Love Mix-Up! was very cute and sweet; the slow burning love story between Aoki and Ida may discourage some of the viewers, but I have to say that, even if Ida is not yet convinced of his feelings for Aoki, he is nevertheless caring and gentle with him, and also a little bit physical, so that, even those that like their series to be a little more sexy will not be disappointed, you can clearly see the evolution of their feelings even without the actual kiss happening. HEA. You can see it on Viki. Heat level: 1/6.

I Told Sunset about You (2020) and I Promised You the Moon (2021)

 I Told Sunset about You and its sequel I Promise You the Moon are both on the same level of A Tale of Thousand Stars for me: beautiful cinematography, very respectful of the country traditions (and therefore a little too far from my standard), good actors. But I couldn't fall into the story. The first kiss between Teh and Oh-aew is beautiful, and again fantastic cinematography, and I really think this is probably a series that goes beyond the BL genre. This last comment is valid for the first part, I Told Sunset about You, I think I Promise You the Moon ruined a little bit my liking of Teh and Oh-aew. HEA. You can see it on Viki. Heat Level: 4/6.

HIStory3: Trapped (2019)

History3: Trapped delivers probably once of the sexiest love scene between the main characters, Tang Yi and Meng Shao Fei, but this is probably the only apex of the story (no pun intended) that is, for most part, a little bit unbelievable: if a detective behaves like Meng Shao Fei, he would have been killed in action long ago. I actually found the side couple, Jack and Zhao Li An, way more interesting, I would have totally switched the center of the story to them. HEA. You can see it on Viki. Heat level: 4/6.
