Sing My Crush (2023)

 If not for the fact I have seen too many series, I would have probably given Sing My Crush a higher rank in my favorite list. Thinking about it I cannot really find huge faults, the main male leads are cute, they love and support each other, they are right for each other... Sure, there is the usual thrope about the friendship that is bordering on relationship, and they both need to grasp this new reality. And there is the villain, who in this case is really evil (on personality more than actions) even if his exterior his angelic. Overall it was a nice series, and the singing was good. HEA. Love Tractor (2023)

 Love Tractor was sweet and cute. Truth be told, I think they made the actor doing Ye Chan appear way less attractive on a physical level than how he is in real life, or maybe it's a proof of how good Ye Chan is. With this I'm making a compliment, cause if Ye Chan was this perfect guilty fantasy of man, the story would have been too standard to be interesting. Instead Seon Yul falls for a quite ordinary man, living a quite ordinary life, in a quite ordinary village... basically all the opposite about his life in Seoul. I like the story, even if, up until the end, I have this feeling like there is a huge distance between Seon Yul and Ye Chan, also in their personality development, it felt like Seon Yul was an adult, and Ye Chan a teenager, even if in reality there is no such age difference between them. Love in Translation (2023)

 I think Love in Translation should come with a warning: do not think the loan shark are good people after all... The series is mostly a romantic comedy, a theme I usually like, but in the end it was just average, not bad, not good. The budget and actors are good, the plot is maybe a little bit unrealistic (for example the big brother doesn't want to come out to his family, I suppose cause they fear the reaction, but in the end, both of their sons are gay, and there is basically no reaction at all? yes, I suppose it's a dream come true to find such an understanding family, but still, I felt there was something missing in the plot). Indeed the actors are good looking, especially Yang Yan Feng. HEA. You can see it on iQIYI. Heat Level: 4/6.

Love Class Season 2 (2023)

 Love Class 2 (no relation to Love Class 1), is about three couples with completely different moods: a Friends to Lovers, quite sweet and funny, no drama, just good feelings, a Teacher/Student, the one I found more sexy, but not in a creepy way, we are talking about almost same age men and the teacher is not teaching to the student, and a Unrequited love who has not been forgotten. They were all mostly good, but sincerely I got confused by the intermixing of the stories, some time I didn't understand what I was seeing and to which couple I had to relate the scene to. For example there is a scene where the Teacher is helping the unrequited lover... I was trying to understand if there was something between them! It was good, but did not spark much, if I want to be naughty, the only spark was the sexy scene between the teacher and the student, probably cause they are the more adult of the couples. HEA. Wait for Me at Udagawachou (2015)

 Wait for Me at Udagawachou was a sweet love story about a transgender male to female high school student and the boy who falls in love with them. I said transgender and not cross-dresser cause, at the end of the movie, it's the same Yashiro saying that, one day, that is their ultimate desire. Now to Momose. I read some review saying he is creepy, that he is forcing Yashiro... I think Momose is just very unexperienced, it's the first time he is feeling something for someone, and he has his own issue grasping the reality that he is in love with Yashiro. But I loved when he said that he liked Yashiro, always, in male or female attire, I loved that he never questioned why Yashiro felt the need to dress as a female, and I loved even more, in his naiveté, Momose understands that Yashiro is the real Yashiro when they are dressing as a girl. Sure, Momose almost arrives to rape Yashiro, but he did not, he stopped when Yashiro said no, even if it was Yashiro starting their intimacy. And remember we are talking of teenagers, so for me Momose proved to be really in love with Yashiro. HEA. Heat Level: 2/6.

Laws of Attraction (2023)

 I know that Laws of Attraction ranked high in the most favorite BL of 2023, but for me it was average, really didn't spark any Wow. I almost believed at the very beginning that it was heading in a different way, I really loved the bickering between Charn and Tinn, and how Charn was this mix of sexy and funny, but that's it, it didn't evolve from that, and, truth be told, I wasn't really interested in the plot. But it's also true I prefer comedy to thriller, and even I can admit this was a good budget, good actors production. HEA. You can see it on iQIYI. Heat Level: 4/6.

I Can't Reach You (2023)

 I Can't Reach You played the high school romance thrope in an ordinary but well acted way. Yamato and Kakeru are childhood friends, and from what I gathered, their relationship was close, and from Yamato's side, maybe there was even a love interest from the start (or at least near there, they are really young when they met). But Yamato is also the star in this couple, handsome and clever, where else Kakeru is more ordinary, and he plays the role of the clown to not let transpire his insecurity. Yamato doesn't see Kakeru in that way, and he really does not understand why Kakeru thinks to be inferior to him, for Yamato, Kakeru is the most perfect being in his world. This is where they got me, the role of the shy and reserved male lead is one of my favorite characters. Anyway, sweet and tender, with HEA. You can see it on Netflix. Heat Level: 2/6.

Jack o' Frost (2023)

 Jack O'Frost was more lyrical than physical, but overall it was a sweet romance. I was weary at first cause the plot of the amnesiac lover didn't really appeal to me, but they played it with a light hand, and at the end, I almost forgot this wasn't a couple getting to know each other for the first time. The nice twist at the end about Ritsu was unexpected but fitting, it let you read their love story in a completely different way. Mostly played by the two main lead, this was a warming and nice series. HEA. You can see it on GagaOOLala and Viki. Heat Level: 4/6.

Dark Blue Kiss (2019)

 Before going into Dark Blue Kiss I would suggest to see Kiss Me Again, or at least the compilation about Pete-Kao that is available on Youtube, it helps better understaing their dynamics. I mostly liked Dark Blue Kiss, maybe what I don't like is that they are hiding their relationship, even if they have the support of Pete's father. Actually I don't understand why they have to hide it at school, where I suppose no one of their friends will be against it. Anyway the thrope of the series is Pete being jealous of Kao, and in his naivite, Kao is basically fueling this jealousy instead of trying to make Pete understand it's not necessary. There is also the side couple of Sun and Mork, they are cute, their story is not bad, but I was more invested in Pete and Kao, and sort of didn't pay attention to them. HEA. Dangerous Romance (2023)

 I utterly disliked the character of Kanghan in Dangerous Romance, and considering he has to be a bully, I think the actor did a good job. But he was so evil at first that it was difficult for me to like him after that, so the romance between Kanghan and Sailom was a little bit subdue for me. But I can understand this was a good budget production, the actors, main and supporting roles, were mostly good and the plot, even if ordinary, was well played. Not a huge impact on me, but I liked it. HEA. You can see it on Youtube. Heat Level: 5/6.
