Semantic Error (2022)

 Semantic Error is one of my favorites, I really liked the evolution of Chu Sang Woo, from introvert to being able to express is feelings for Jang Jae Young. The strange "courtship" of Jang Jae Young was also nice, I'm not sure when he realized his interest for Chu Sang Woo, but for sure he was pursuing the guy in a very persistent way. His red looks made him stand out in the crowd, but more than his clothes, it was his imposing persona. HEA. You can see it on Viki. Heat Level: 3/6.

Only Friends (2023)

 Only Friends was the third bl series I saw, and I think it set a standard: I like imperfect characters. Truth be told there is no one in this drama that pass the test as good (in the meaning of positive role), they are all flawed, even Mew. They are all basically unhealthy relationships that need to find a balance to let their protagonists grew within it instead of being destroyed by it. Mew and Top is apparently the most sane of them, but I found the mean streak of Mew quite interesting, and do not let forget that Top is a cheater, a big NO NO in a relationship for me. But still I wanted for them to find a way to work together. Actually, my preferred couple is Sand and Ray, and they grew on me surpassing my interest for Mew and Top. Nick and Boston is also good but maybe too much toxic. HEA (mostly). You can see it on Youtube. Heat Level: 5/6.

Nitiman (2021)

 I'm not sure why Nitiman ranked so low in the list of favorites BL (so low that no one recommended it), but to me it was a very nice surprise. My only complaint is that Jin is very restrained and poor BBomb has to contain his feelings, but other than that, I really loved how BBomb, since the very first time he officially meets Jin is on the track to win him as a boyfriend. He is constant, attentive and sweet, autorative but not a bully (like when Jin wants to skip lunch, and BBomb basically does not listen to him, it's for Jin's health); even after Jin accepts to be his boyfriend, he is not forcing Jin to go over his limits, he asks but he does not impose, not even when Jin is drunk (like in so many other series I have seen). Basically BBomb is a saint, and his perseverance will lead him to victory. HEA. You can see it on Youtube. Heat Level: 3/6.

Not Me (2021)

 I delayed a lot to see Not Me cause everyone was saying it was good, but it didn't really appeal me. And yes, it's good (aside from some exageration on the plot) but in the end, it's not my cup of tea. I really liked the private moments between White and Sean, but that is where it stops for me. My School President (2022)

 I know that My School President has all the points to be good, a series that is not overly dramatic, actors playing a role that is right for them, a light comedy mood that does not ridiculized the plot... but again, I cannot really fall for it. It was good, I really cannot pinpoint what I didn't like, it's just that it did not stand out for me. HEA. You can see it on Viki. Heat Level: 2/6.

My Only 12% (2022)

 My Only 12% is, per se, a good high school/college romance. But I really cannot stand of Eiw, he should be cute and instead it appears to be always wining. I quite like Cake, and how he was so open in his relationship with Eiw, once it started. This is probably just my feeling, because, all in all, I cannot find a big fault in this series, if not how I personally reacted to the characters. HEA. You can see it on iQIYI. Heat Level: 4/6.

Moonlight Chicken (2023)

 All right, now I know I will go against the majority of viewers, but I didn't get into Moonlight Chicken. Again I liked the setting, I liked the characters and their first interaction (the chemistry between Jim and Wen is undeniable, and that first night, walking around the neighborhood, was probably the best of the whole series), but then it felt like they didn't want to push the story into being spicy (as the premises suggested) and they just remained on the level where there are a lot of repressed feelings, repressed actions, I want but I don't want... Again I prefer the side couple of Heart and Liming, to the main couple. Their love story is sweet and tender (proving the fact I don't need smeshy to be happy). HEA. You can see it on Youtube. Love Mechanics (2022)

 Love Mechanics was an hit and miss for me: it started with a bang, really, really like the premises and the fact they got intimate at the very beginning, cause I wanted to see how they moved from being enemies, but having had sex, to be lovers, without having sex to smooth the path. But I don't really like how Vee dragged his story with the girlfriend, while at the same time actively pursuing Mark... man, you have to take a decision at one point. I also like the fact that, despite being a college romance, not one character is actually a top model coming out from a magazine cover, they are all ordinary guys, with mostly ordinary life. Some holes in the story, nothing big (for example, how come Vee and his father comes to help Mark and his parents? how did they know they were in danger?). HEA. You can see it on WeTv. To My Star (2021)

 I think To My Star had some big holes in the story (if you are an actor who does not want to be seen, you don't go playing waiter in a restaurant, even with a mask...) but overall, it was quite nice. I have a fond for the thrope of the famous lead versus the common man, and even if here is not played till the end as I like (public declaration and all), it's still very nice how Kang Seo Joon is willing to risk everything for his love. As often happens, I also like that the common man, Han Ji Woo, is indeed the steady figure in the love story, even a little bit stoic. Season 2 seemed to ruin a little bit my liking, but I tried to reprime my desire to kick them and went on, and they managed to save it a little bit, at least we have a lot more of interaction between Kang Seo Joon and Han Ji Woo, and the evolution of their feelings. HEA. You can see it on GagaOOLala and Viki. Heat Level: 3/6. Pet peeve: being italian I can assure you that you do not put parsley in the carbonara...

Like in the Movies (2020)

 Like in the Movies was pretty much simple as story, two guys, from what I understand one is gay, one has just no past experiences, start to live together and a love story develops. It's mostly set in their apartment, a very small apartment, so they are basically always together, and the progression from strangers to lovers is slow but steady. There is really no drama, no conflicts, and there are some nice supporting roles, like Vlad's sister, if she continues to say "I'm an ally", I will start wondering if she is not really hiding something. HEA. Heat Level: 3/6.
