Gameboys (2020)

 Gameboys is all centered around the COVID-19 pandemia and how it changed our lives. The love story between Cairo and Gavreel in season 1 is mostly built through video chat, at first between them and after a bit, including also their friends. They went through all the typical steps of a relationship, starting from dating to even kissing, remotely (yes also the kiss) and it was quite tender. They are not particular young, late teenagers, and Gavreel is also living alone, so for me it was sort of endearing looking at them, in their innocent looks, but knowing they are indeed living an experience that is bigger than them. Love in the Air (2022)

When I was still discovering BL series, I got hooked by Love in the Air, Payu and Rain mainly (actually Boss Chaikamon 100%). I'm hoping they will do a season 2, even if Mame has not a novel. The teasing of Payu towards Rain is perfect, and when they finally got together, it was even more perfect. At this moment, I didn't find another BL series with the same level of hotness paired with a perfect romance. HEA. You can see it on iQIYI and Viki. Heat level: 6/6.

His (2019)

While His, the series, was somewhat tender and sweet, not probably among my favorites, but still moving and sincere, I found the movie that is the sequel, completely destroyed what I liked about these two guys. I completely hate Nagisa, and sincerely I couldn't understand how Shun can even think to forgive him. I didn't ban completely this title, just because, if you limit your viewing experience to the 2019 drama, it could be worth your time. HEA. You can see it on Viki. Heat level: 1/6.

He's Coming to Me (2019)

I avoided for a long time He's Coming to Me because I couldn't imagine an happy ending for them. Let's say they found a way, similar to Doctor, I'm Coming for Soul, you can wonder if it's really an happy ending, but at least for them it's. The story is very charming, even if there is a mystery, it's not too much dark, and yes, it made me feel for Med, for the fact he wasn't able to enjoy life when he was alive. But the bond he forms with Thun, and how he is able to experience all those things through the other boy is endearing. HEA. Heat level: 3/6.

Our Dining Table (2023)

 Our Dining Table was nice, and I saw it appearing on the top list for 2023 Japanese drama, but sincerely, if compared to other dramas, even those centering around food (that I understand is a plus), I found it a little bit too emotionless for my taste. The moment I prefer is that with Yukata's brother, and the revelation about his feelings towards its adoptive brother (brotherly feelings, I'm not reading anything more). The love story between Yukata and Minoru didn't spark in me emotion.

I Became the Main Role of a BL Drama (2023)

 I Became the Main Role of a BL Drama was good on so many level. For the first time, I actually was a little bit sad it wasn't longer, even if, truth be told, I don't feel like we are missing something. The love story between Akafuji and Aoyagi is cute, sweet and, despite these being adult characters, remains to an almost innocent level. It's funny because, the role they are playing the in the BL Drama have more heat between them than the real Akafuji and Aoyagi, at one point I thought I wouldn't mind to see also "that" drama. Anyway, even if there wasn't much intimacy between the main characters, I still think this is one of the nicer series for 2023. HEA. You can see it on GagaOOLala.

Dear Doctor, I'm Coming for Soul (2022)

 Dear Doctor, I'm Coming for Soul was surprising on so many level, that I'm even sure if I loved it of hated it, or basically being completely unable to say what I feel. First of all, it's not dark at all, actually it has a comedy undercurrent that was the first surprise. Second, the love story between the Doctor, Prakan, and the Soul Reaper, Tua, was well played, and I actually felt the sexy vibes between them, and when the love story finally developed, it was very nice. The link between Prakan and Tua is easy to understand, and that is another point that will leave you a little bit shocked, because, well, it's quite creepy, but again, as a viewer, I had this double thinking, that yes, I should have felt horrified, and instead I was actually swooning on how sweet that was. Also the ending was sort of double feelings, I was both happy and sad, and I was wondering, is it really an HEA? but that was not enough, because after their love story ended, there was another twist, and again I was not expecting that (SPOILER: wasn't easier for both of them to be reincarnated?). Anyway I have to say, this series was a complete surprise to me, surprise cause I actually like it a lot. You can see it on iQIYI.

Blueming (2022)

 I think I can identify in Bleuming, the story of Cha Si Won, a guy who has always struggled with his body, and that, in College, like a butterfly, starts a new life in a completely new persona, well liked and admired by his schoolmates. His nemesis/lover is Hyeong Da Un, someone who has always had that, money, looks, and he is even a nice guy. The conflict between Cha Si Won and Hyeong Da Un is not really a conflict, even if I can understand Cha Si Won's grudge, especially listening to Hyeong Da Un's mother's words. But alas, this drama has basically all the elements I like, and yes, maybe it didn't really spark a WOW moment in me, but I nevertheless still left me with a smile and a satisfied feeling. HEA. Between Us (2022)

 When I saw Team and Win in Until We Meet Again, I didn't care much for them, actually I found Win even a little bit annoying. So it was a pleasure to actually love them basically since the beginning in Between Us. Maybe this is against the popular opinion, but I even liked that they had that first night together, even before their feelings were on the board, because, yes, we are talking of college guys, away from home, living independently... It's totally believeable that hormones got in the way. But I liked also how protective Win was of Team, how is caring persona was so mismatched with his bad boy looks. I also love how, in a way, he never bertrayed his interest in Team, not with his family or with his friends. HEA. You can see it on iQIYI.

Bad Buddy (2021)

Bad Buddy is the usual enemies to lovers thrope, and Pran and Pat are playing full into the role. True, the reasons why they are enemies is not really a big obstacle to overcome, and they have even insider supporter pushing them one toward the other. My main issue is that, I didn't really see the reason why they fell in love, the vibes, at least for me, was always more friendship than love. But if you want a college series without much drama, this is a good one. HEA.
