Cosmetic Playlover (2024)

 For me Cosmetic Playlover, as a drama, was cute. I enjoyed it a lot and the 4 hours lenght made it possible to see it in one session. Both main charaters are sweet, sort of being on the brink between young and adult, at least with their emotions. They were true to their feelings, Natsume is gay, even if I think to understand he is also a virgin, and Sahashi is bisexual, at least this is what other people say to Natsume. Why I'm not sure about it? because as in many Japanese drama, they do but they don't tell. Japanese tends to be reserved. And this is also in the sexy part of this drama: the Manga is very erotic, they have sex in the first chapter, when I read it I was actually pretty much surprise because even for a Yaoi Manga that was quite soon. In the drama I think they have sex towards the middle of the story, but we see them kiss then closed door till the morning when they wake up embraced in the same bed (and that is the only skin we see). Said that, it's not that the lack of sex scene made this drama less good, as I said at the beginning it was sweet and cute, interesting enough to let me enjoy 4 hours without skipping or doing something else. Yoh Yukinaga is a hair stylist dedicated to his craft. So when his scissors start to dull, it's only natural that he'd call a professional to get them sharpened. Finding a sharpener that meets his criteria is tough... until his coworker recommends that he sends his scissors in to the mysterious "Chiyo."

Though they only correspond through letters, Yoh finds himself getting more and more interested in the polite and diligent sharpener. He agrees to bring his scissors to them in person one day... only to be met by a sharp-tongued young man who does not match the image portrayed in the letters at all!

Yoh is a Highly Sensitive Person, so getting closer with the blunt sharpener may be more of a challenge than he ever imagined...

My Love Mix-Up! (2024)

 The Thai version of My Love Mix-Up! is not so different from the original Japanese, therefore it's good. If I have to find a difference, it's less edgy, Japanese have always this feeling of being a little bit extreme in mood, even when the story is sweet, like My Love Mix-Up! So I would say it does not add much, but the actors are sweet, the feeling is naive and innocent, sort of breathing fresh air with some "Awww" moment. And the instory ad is that of a cat food (so the dog of Kongthap becomes a cat that Atom rescues and Kongthap adopts. HEA (with final kiss that we don't have in the Japanese version). Heat Level: 2/6.
