I Hear the Sunspot (2024)

 Already in Silhouette of Your Voice, the Japanese movie that was made out of this manga, you could understand this was not your typical BL drama. I Hear the Sunspot is 12 episodes, and I think the first two, more or less, are the same timeline of the movie, and then it's all new material. It's the tale of a friendship between Kohei and Taichi; you can easily understand that Kohei has deeper feelings for Taichi, but Taichi needs time, a LOT of time, to understand that those feelings are reciprocated. I like that, despite the fact there is not physical intimacy between them, the feelings are plenty conveyed and you can clearly see them. There is not even a kiss between them, even if there is a declaration... it could be seen as strange, but it's indeed in line with the mood of the story. Sweet, sweet story, strangely for a Japanese drama it has 12 episode (indeed the manga is a multivolume opera). HEA. You can see it on GagaOOLala. Heat Level: 1/6.

The Rebound (2024)

 Meen and Ping are usually good together, whatever and whoever they are playing. So I cannot say The Rebound is not good, but 12 episodes are really too long! Moreover Ryu and Zen, aka Meen and Ping, have good chemistry together, also on the sweet and sexy scene, but for almost 11.99 episodes there is almost no intimacy between them (aside a shower sexy scene, where we are told more than shown) and then for 1 minute we have an awkard sexy scene, they wanted to be funny, but sincerely, at that point I didn't need it. If they wanted to give us a fanservice/lip service, than make it sweet and romantic at least. Said that, Meen and Ping plays the usual role, where Meen is the aloof and cool characters with a dark secret, while Ping is the naive boy, believing that bad things do not exist in in this world. At least the third wheel in the series, Atom, who should be an antagonist of Meen in conquering Ping, is this time a positive character, without faults... only that he is not sexy like Meen to Ping's eyes. There is also to be said that Ping's interest in Meen apparently started in high school, therefore Atom is too late in the race. SPOILER: The dark secret is sort of unbelievable, the bad guy who is attempting to use Meen as a toy boy, and Meen's friend, Que, who play substitute for him, and then, basically is able to kill 6 armed men at the same time with just one pistol... not really believable, he would have been killed after the first shot. HEA. You can see it on GagaOOLala. Heat Level: 5/6 (but just for two scene).

Takara's Treasure (2024)

 Takara's Treasure is a very sweet, sweet romance. Up front, even if the main characters decide around episode 6 to date, there are only 3 sweet, tiny kiss between them; funny things, they sleep together in the same bed a lot, but they never kiss while on the same bed! Anyway, obviously sexy scenes are not at all the reason why I liked this drama. The characters are: I liked both Takara and Taishin, for different reasons. Takara is cool, aloof, but basically a good guy, who, even if at first is a bit distant from Taishin, he never once denies his reassuring presence for Taishin. I think that, even if not explicitly stated, Taishin has some sort of issue interacting with people, he has always this disoriented vibes, like he is living in a parallel world and he is trying to crossover to the other people's reality. Anyway, I really like how Takara helps Taishin without overwhelming him with his own personality. Good couple. HEA. You can see it on GagaOOLala. Heat Level: 3/6.
