A screaming good time! Just in time for Halloween! BOOK GIVEAWAY
I love no holiday more than Halloween! If only it could be all year long. Currently, my house is full of Día de Muertos skeletons, creepy grinning cats, and Vintage Halloween Postcards. I would be perfectly content if it could stay that way. My kitchen is ALWAYS decorated with b-horror movie posters so who would even notice?
My husband. He would notice. He is very observant that way. The bastard!
Anyway, starting in August (okay, more like mid-July but don't tell anyone) I start watching horror movies at work. Not good horror movies, God no. I watch crap! Loads and loads of terrible crap. Films with ten dollar budgets and acting that will make you howl with laughter.
I also start rereading some of my favorite horror classics and go looking for new horror gems I have yet to discover. That is, until this year. This year I thought why not get in on the action! Thus, Buried Desires - a horror double feature was born.
The book includes Deadly Sugar, a twisted tale from the scary talented Ofelia Gränd and Cold Fingers from little old me! It was all kinds of awesome to write. I also learned a great deal, including how to put an umlaut over an A! (On a Mac just old down on the A and you get a popup menu. If you are on a PC, sorry you're on your own! :P) Also, included in Buried Desires are two links to Hidden Chapter short stories. One from me and one from Ofelia!
This is release weekend so I thought it should be...
BOOK GIVEAWAY TIME!
Over the next couple of days, I will be giving away six books on Goodreads, six books on Facebook and six books on Twitter.

Almost But Not Quite - It's FINALLY here!

My contribution to the Goodreads M/M Romance group's yearly anthology has finally been release to group members. And in just a matter of days you will be able to download it for free from mmromancegroup.com here.
For those who prefer to wait, I will be posting it on everyones goto eBook sites. Free of charge, of course. Just be patient with Amazon. They don't allow authors to post stories for free and it can take them a little time to drop their price to match the other guys.
The story is a bit of a twist on the traditional Cinderfella. And, like so many things I write, loosely based on a blending of two real live folks that have agreed not to kick my ass.
I had a good deal of fun writing it and I hope you will give it a go.

Shiny Things - It's FINALLY here!

Shiny Things is now available as an individual eBook!!
While every published work is the result of a whole team of people—beta readers, editors, proof reader—it is still a very personal thing. And it's exciting to see a story that you dreamed up and worked to weave together, finally out there for anyone who wants to read it.
It's also a little scary.
But no matter what reviewers think, Shiny Things is still going to hold a special place in my hearts.
While I adore both my main characters in this story, one in particular is a bit of a favorite. The character of Vincent is loosely based on my tenth-grade biology desk partner and the first openly gay boy I had ever met. He was a lovely person, but a shit assignment partner. We would spent most of class either whispering about my drawing and photography classes or he would be swooning over the gay romance flick he had watch at one of local art house theaters.
We refused to dissect things together—taking C's on the assignments seemed like a fair trade when it meant not having to use a scalpel on some poor dead thing on our desk—and if memory serves, both managed to pull a B in the end.
It was a miracle we did so well! I like to chalk it up to us both being exceedingly clever.
So, if you find yourself reading my dedication and wondering Who's Patrick?, now you know!
Shiny Things is available directly from Beaten Track Publishing HERE, Amazon HERE, Amazon UK HERE and Smashwords HERE.
It is also available as part of Boughs of Evergreen: A Holiday Anthology Volume One or the Combined addition which can be purchase through the publisher HERE, Amazon HERE and Amazon UK HERE.

Boughs of Evergreen: A Holiday Anthology is HERE!
For me it's not always easy to find ways to help support programs I believe in. Financially? On occasion but more often than not I'm too busy trying to figure out how to feed my kids and pay my mortgage at the same time. But with a whole lot of time management, I can normally carve out a little time to give.

Beaten Track Publishing and their Boughs of Evergreen holiday anthology gave me an opportunity to use what I could give, my time, to help The Trevor Project make a difference in the lives of LGBTQ young people.
I wanted to support The Trevor Project for those I knew who are gone, for those I know who are still here, and most especially for a certain young boy I know who is just starting to suffer from the rejection of his biological father for his sexuality. Life is hard enough without loosing the love and support of those who are SUPPOSE to love and support us. The Trevor Project is there to give help and support to those who need it.
You can support The Trevor Project too! All proceeds from the sale of Boughs of Evergreen: A Holiday Anthology will be donated to The Trevor Project. And you'll have more than a thousand pages of reading to help take you through at least some of the holiday season. You can also help by donating here on the Beaten Track Trevor Project Fundraising page.
The anthology can be purchase through the publisher here, Amazon here and Amazon UK here.
This was a massive endeavor for Beaten Track Publishing and I can not express how impressed I am with Debbie McGowan and her dedication to the project and belief in what could be accomplished with this anthology. I am so very proud to have been part of it. And I am proud to be in a collection with so many wonderfully talent authors and with so many amazing stories. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Shiny Things

Well my new short story Shiny Things have been turned into the publisher. I'm sure there will be a ton of revisions needed but I'm happy to see it go. It will take a few weeks to hear back, I'm sure, and by then I'll be happy to see it again. For now, I'm glad of the break.
I'm exited that it will be packages with so many amazing authors. Makes me feel so grownup! And, oh my God, something I didn't realize when I started out, there is actually a small press run. How amazing it that.
I totally ❤ my characters in this one. And I hope a few of you do too. :)

My Newest Story
Shorty on the heels of Watching Elijah Fall I have been given a chance to participate in another, smaller, anthology. This time around it is a anthology for charity and I am so excited.
I only have a short time, but to get inspired, I have read through a handful of my fiction attempts; small beginning for stories that I never took any further. Little burst so potential waiting for someone to think enough of them to try and shape them into what they are meant to be.
I found my start. And I found my inspiration from someone I knew years ago.
Meet you at the finish line.
