Very entertaining and informative. Mr. Delarte has a down-to-earth style and consistently finds ways to engage the reader's interest in the work of Bruckner.

You Can be a Musician: A Defense of Music: The Problems with Music Lessons Today, and How We Can Fix Them

by Hellene Hiner

Ms. Hiner has developed a method of training young people (as young as 2 years of age!) to read music on the keyboard. This is a great achievement and I wish her every success with it. As a description of her method, and how she arrived ...

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ms. Hiner has developed a method of training young people (as young as 2 years of age!) to read music on the keyboard. This is a great achievement and I wish her every success with it. As a description of her method, and how she arrived at it I would rate it 5 stars. Because I was expecting something more general about music education I can only give it 3 stars. I feel that a more accurate description of the book would be very helpful to customers.

Irish Washerwoman

Irish Washerwoman by Peter Inglis, a book in The Whole Guitarist: Beginner Repertoire series.

I've just published a repertoire piece for beginner guitarists: "Irish Washerwoman".

Irish Washerwoman is a famous traditional tune in the Folk Genre. Visit any Irish Pub around the world and you are likely to hear this tune during the evening. This book will guide you through the process of playing tjhis great piece of music.

I recommend you learn at least two other Irish Folk Tunes and play them as a medley. Look at my ebooks for a selection of these great tunes arranged for guitar. There are many great examples of the piece on YouTube. Go to www.youtube.com and do a search for: Andre Rieu, The Dubliners, The Irish Drovers or The Chieftains.

You can preview the book here: www.smashwords.com/books/view/454712.
Here is the book at Amazon.

Free Art book

I've set the price for "Still Life in Tone and Colour" at zero. This is a great intro to my painting books, and will give you a good idea of the format.
Download it here: Still Life in Tone and Colour.

Clash of the titans!

My colleague and friend Ian Cooper had the great fortune recently to perform in San Francisco with classical guitar legend George Sakellariou.

Ian Cooper (violin) and George Sakellariou (guitar).

Here is George playing Bach's organ Toccatta in D minor:

George Sakellariou began playing the guitar at an early age in Athens, Greece. His first teacher was his brother, a talented composer of popular music. Sakellariou received his formal training from the Conservatory of Music in Athens. After graduating with honors, he was invited to further his studies with the renowned guitarist Segovia when the great master heard him play.
