There was no way she was going to admit to anything that sounded like jealousy. Adriana began pulling her hand away as she opened her mouth in protest. Rhys' hand clamped down on top of hers. "I was upset about (a) phone call..." she started.
Rhys grabbed her other hand and held them both in place. He stared at her. "I don't believe you."
... "Look, I don't know what this is," he said, gesturing between them, "But I know it's something more than a casual attraction. I've tried to keep it at bay, but that hasn't worked very well." ... He paused for a long moment and held her gaze. "If I'm wrong, now's the time to tell me."

This Week's Words of Love-COMFORT

Rita Ora's smooth, soprano voice floated through the room. Rhys pulled Adriana closer, fitting her against him. ...she could feel the curves of hard muscle and the warmth his body exuded. It was as if their bodies were made for each other. He leaned back and looked down at her. His brow was furrowed as he examined her face, his concern evident.

"Are you alright? You seem a bit nervous."

... "I'm fine,"...

Rhys tightened his hold around her. "Liar," he whispered softly.

She gave a faint smile... She leaned into him, seeking the comfort and support she wanted right now. He felt so good. His firm, warm body was the solace she needed after the nightmare that was her ex-husband. Her body slowly relaxed.

"That's more like it," he said, gently stroking the area on her back where his hand had been resting.

...in Rhys' arms, things were so different. ... Too soon, the song ended. "I wish the event could end right now...," she thought...

Rhys bent his head to her ear. "Ready to go?"

Shocked by the question, excitement flared up inside her. It was as if he were reading her thoughts. "Yes!" she whispered just loud enough for him to hear.

"Then let's get outta here. They have my car waiting for me outside."

"Adriana glanced down at her phone as she heard three hard knocks at her front door. He was on time. Although she was ready, she had decided to give her long, dark hair a few final brush strokes. She placed her brush down on the bathroom counter and turned to the left and right, giving her body a final inspection. She nodded. Yep, this would do. As she walked across her bedroom, three more quick raps on the front door sounded throughout the apartment. She reached the door and turned the knob. Her breath caught as she took a step back.

Rhys stood just outside the doorway. His...suit was perfectly fitted, emphasizing his broad shoulders, expansive chest and narrow hips. His facial hair, just shy of being a beard, stood out against his bronze skin.... His eyes widened as he stared at her for a few precious seconds before slowly trailing down her body. She watched patiently as they made their journey back to her face. Finally, his eyes met hers.

'You look...beautiful,' he said, his voice soft and husky."
