The Other Side of Eve is growing! Ebook, Self Publishing and IRS

This week is only half way through and as usual I find myself doing 10 tasks at once. Being a self publisher is a HUGE task. All I really want to do it write the next book but time is not on my side.

Tonight I plan to ring the IRS! (I know) and organise a EIN Number so I can sell on Amazon without the 30% withholding tax.

I’m reading and doing a Lynda.com tutorial on ebook formatting and putting to practice ebook creation in inDesign, after little love from scrivener as the software gave me little design options. I still love Scrivener for writing though.

I’m also illustrating a picture every few days for the 80 chapter titles, lucky they are not in colour. So far I’ve done 30 I like so getting there. My studio is plastered with pictures and notes.

Sooner or latter I’ll find time to work on the map again…I guess this post is about how

Lots of TOSOE news! ISBN, Edits, Illustration’s and Map

Hi everyone!

Its been a crazy few months and The Other Side of Eve is looking good!

Nearly 100% edited! ISBN numbers have been bought and barcodes are being set up!

Chapter illustrations are coming along great with 20 of the 60 completed. I will be making a huge poster to give away on launch to the first month of buyers!

The map is looking great and I am building it illustrator. Looks like I need to make three different maps for Kindle and Paper (B&W Version), Colour iPad and colour Print.

All in all I’m quite excited and look forward to the next few months of putting it all together.

Character design and Poster Givaway

Free Character Poster Giveaway on Launch!

Over the last few weeks I’ve been going through my old sketches, during the character development stage.

I’m quite a visual story teller and as an illustrator I found creating even a simple silhouette was enough to portray each individual and leave my words to describe the rest.

I’ve decided to create a poster of all the main characters. This will be available to download and a printable one for those who sign up for the debut ebook opening.

Official Site Opened Today!

So the Eve site is officially launched today!

I’m building it myself so it has taken me fair while…I’m sure there are errors but bare with me and I’ll iron them out over time.

I’ll be adding more posts and illustrations on a regular basis and inform readers when the book will be out.

So far its in editing stage and I’m powering on ahead and making sure the novel is all it can be before we sign off.

Intro Poem

I wrote this poem to begin The Other Side of Eve

-read by a character in the book, the Weatherman.

Intro

There is a place called Mare-Mari,

a place unlike any—as you shall see;

It’s because of the schoolgirl, Evelin Boots,

From the vicious ocean,to the nectarous fruits.

She created the weather, the land and the sky,

—but never shall see it, to the day she die;

A parallel world, conjured up for her child,

To be free, to laugh and dance in the wild.

But as Evelin’s fears take over her mind,

Marie-Mari suffers and all of its kind;

Its princess is cursed, full of fury and rage,

Remaining inside, her castle her cage.

The witch and her creatures are out of control,

Born from the sorrow in Evelin’s soul;

Unless there is change in the young girl’s mind,

Mare-Mari’s doomed and all of its kind.
