The Proof has been Ordered!
Great news the Paperback and Hardcover Proofs have been ordered!
Between you and me I have been sooo nervous about putting the novel together for print. The spec sheets alone are enough to scare any designer, let alone a dabbler.
But with time and persistence I managed to get the manuscript ready in Indesign and it passed (second time lucky!)
Not only did I decide to submit the novel to Create Space but also to Ingram Spark, which I thought was just as clear and precise as CS.
So now we wait aprox 1 week for the proof to arrive and then I can finally hold the book in my hands!
Next Stage: Scan the proof cover to cover and update where I can.
Due Date: Around April 1st

Cover design for TOSOE Paperback
Can’t wait to order the Proof – hopefully start of next month if all goes ahead as planned. But I do have 20 or so chapter illustrations to do by then. I thought I would share the design I’m working on. Matt cover, crisp white pages.Tight.?

Two years ago I printed out my first draft and placed it on my desk
It is still there now. A reminder every day to complete the second draft…and third. Then get it edited, and content edited and proof read. Then finish the 80+ chapter illustrations, design the book cover/ jacket and promotional website. Convert to epub and kindle and then put it on amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble and iBooks as a Pre-Order.

The Other Side of Eve eBook pre-order!
When I started writing the book, the entire concept of an ‘ebook’ didn’t spring to mind … perhaps at the time, they hadn’t even been invented yet?! Subsequently, I ran out and bought myself a Kindle Paperwhite and an iPad – one of the best personal digital technologies that I’ve ever owned, I totally recommend.
After awhile I knew I wanted TOSOE to be an ebook. I also knew it had to be something special and not a churned out, chewed up, converted word doc. So as a conceptual designer, I would have to do it myself. The result is I have designed, crafted and formatted an iPad & Kindle version. Both of which are as strong and wonderful as each other.
As I wrote the book, then re-wrote and read the 1st, 2nd and 3rd drafts—all on computer, it came natively and comfortably to see the words on a dedicated eReader. And it is a delight.
I also love being able to zoom in on the chapter illustrations on the iPad. I really wanted to show off all 80+ illustrations and knew the iPad would not let me down. They are crisp, clear and retina ready.
The Kindle version has it’s own beauty. On my Paperwhite the words feel warm to the eyes and easy to read. Even though you cant zoom in, each and every illustration has a certain look only the Kindle can create. The edges are soft and warm to the otherwise sharp lines of the illustrations.
For those waiting for the print version of the book you’ll have to bare with me until the end of March to order. This price gives you 20% of the book to read today and the other 80% will be available on 23rd March. No more to pay.
