There is no such thing as not meant to be …

Because it’s exactly how it’s meant to be.

Often in hindsight, when I look back on my journey I realise that when something or someone didn’t happen in my life when I really wanted it, it was for the best.

It led me to discover something better and brighter and if not, it gave me the priceless opportunity to learn.

I know it’s easier said than done but patience truly is a virtue even when all you want to do is kick its mother you know what arse to the kerb. But then again, that’s probably just me.

So I spent my entire Easter compiling a meticulously drafted SWOT analysis on the most perfect chocolate egg out there, it took me days to complete.

Seriously, the time and patience I spent on taste testing, analysing, breaking all the eggs on the predefined cracks, I mean Humpty Dumpty would have elected me as his surgeon in a heart beat. If poor Humpty had one.

Then … the worst possible scenario occurred, my spine still tingles at the thought of it – I lost it. My dog ate my homework and I am not lying. Well, my imaginary doggy.

So now I have to start all over again. It’s a tough job but you know, someone’s got to do it

It’s April Fools Day!

Yay! The one day I can be myself and blame the date.

It’s not my fault … I promise :P

What are your Easter plans?

I know, I know. It’s the beginning of the week and we just came out of the weekend but looking forward to something great about to happen can never be wrong, am I right or am I right? I know, right. I’m right. Thanks for the confirmation.

It’s a four day week followed by four days off. Life can rarely get better!

Here’s hoping you all have a wonderful time off and some great stories to tell at the end of it. Oh, and I want details. Have an awesome week everyone!!!

One Person Can Change Your Life …

I spoke to someone yesterday that changed the path I was treading in my writing journey in the complete opposite direction.

I had never spoken to this person before so it is still stumping me slightly, why the words said by this angel in disguise had such a profound effect on me. It’s not like what she says should matter to me anymore than anyone else, especially those around me who mean so much more, but they do.

Not because of her validity due to her profession or her wisdom or even her expertise but just because when she said them I felt an electric shock tingle up and down my spine, you know the type. That elusive feelingthat rarely dots ourpath in life, that Eureka moment when you suddenly glimpse the nostalgicclarity everyone promises will come soon.

I don’t know if the steps I am taking are going to be successful but I am feeling it. That scrumptious excitement that accompanies a first move you have a sneaking suspicion is in the right direction.

I will keep you posted my dearly treasured friends, so if you see me around a little less, just know that I am writing and writing. Oh yes, and writing :)

I’ve been through at least 20 trees over the weekend by way of facial tissues -_-

I am utterly embarrassed and seriously disappointed with my recycling stance over the past forty eight hours but it was either that or my family wading through an ocean of nasal secretion I would rather not get into courtesy the flu.

Now that I have adequately grossed each and everyone of my followers out, I apologise profusely.

See you around guys and have I mentioned I am sorry for the mental picture. Clearly imagination can have it’s bad side as well.

What’s your religion?

There aren’t many questions I think are useless honestly because questions provoke thought,in turn promoting discussion which is the foundation block for discovery that is the cornerstone for innovation, and that is almost always a great thing I think.

Besides I’m Indian, so being nosy is almost a by product.

However the question of “What religion do you belong to” has always got me stumped unless being probed on the train by the sweet old lady sitting next to me who is in fact an in the closet devout catholic that has personally made it her mission to convert all the other innocent “got no other option” public transport “enthusiasts”, or maybe it’s just me. I naturally have one of those faces that scream I’m lost and need to find purpose so please help!

Why does anyone need to know what religion someone belongs to, or even if they do? How is this answer going to dictate how we proceed in our conversation or relationship? Do you feel more connected with me if we follow the same religion? Do belonging to different faiths make us incompatible? If yes, shouldn’t we be worried?

I’d like to think that we all follow the religion of humanity because as far as I can tell, the study of theology reveals one very obvious characteristic when the religions of the world are truly dissected that everyone, and I mean everyone knows deep down – what is right and wrong. According to me, singling out someone to steer clear of solely based on the faith they choose to pursue is definitely wrong. Very wrong.

Agree or disagree?

The Difference between Hearing and Listening?

The former normally results in a Bobble-head inspired nodding epidemic. While listening may end the same way, it usually follows some deep contemplation.

There is an immense sense of contentment in accepting something as being beautiful because it just is.

Rather than searching for the elusive meaning behind why something gives me as much joy as it does, I would sometimes much rather revel in the fact that it just does.

Often discovering the answers can ruin the romance, there is bliss in just is.

And the Most Embarrassing Award goes to!

Everyone pretty much knows that I have been faced with many potential options in this lifetime but I honestly have to confess that confining a single interlude in my life as a token of what I like to eloquently term asashamed bashfulness is in all truth, quite ludicrously impossible.

Now c’mon everyone, we’re all friends right? Considering most of you know about the expeditions that have dotted my wonderfully bizarre journey, I know for a fact, none of you are disagreeing with me at the moment.

If I didn’t know better, I would bet my life on the undeniable fact that the Universe is sending me unfashionably cloaked cryptic messages on Embarrassing being my real middle name instead of Pradip.

Contrary to popular belief, some of my seemingly meaningless ramblings do have a purpose, and so does this one, albeit uncharacteristically. You know you don’t have to agree with everything I say, don’t you?

I have very humbly accepted the Daydreamer Award from the wonderfully talented Pomad, partly because I thought this would seriously have to be the easiest post I have ever completed considering writing what you know always is, but mostly because I have an insanely embarrassing crush on the awesome dudette.

Anyway, I digress. Please don’t block me Miss. Pomad, my love and adoration is restrained and just stops short from the psycho stalko stage … I reluctantly promise.

So here are the rules:

1) Thank the person who gave you the award. THANKS Pomad. Ahem, I love you :)

2) Complete the challenge they set you. I promise to make every possible effort to at least attemptto come up with something resembling sense.

3) Select a blog or blogs that you want to give the award to. (The amount of blogs you select in unlimited!) The wonderfully spectacular Herminia Chow. Seriously, she is so spectacular I think this version of Spiderman was actually inspired by her :)

4) Tell them about it and set them a challenge. Herminia, I hope you’re reading this as well as any of my other amazing fellow bloggers who want todo this!

5) You can link my blog at the bottom (but only if you want to). In case you haven’t got it yet, insane girl crush on this lass ;)

So, deep breath. Here goes. My MOST embarrassing moment, one that I have kept close to my chest for the days, minutes, moments that have hauntingly hunted me down since. I guess I will find out after my follower numbers are dissected into well, oblivion once this is posted if this was a good idea or not.

Picture this, class of one hundred students in a lecture hall for my dreaded Marketing class, day one. Complete with ooh, about 49% of the entire Bondi Beach drop dead gorgeous male population.

Task? Simple enough. Get up in front of the entire class and name your favourite fruit and your reason.

I had the perfect example, a mango because it’s refreshing and sweet rolled into one, just like me. I should have known then. The warning bells were blazing but my youthful exuberance (similar to the one that got me into trouble yesterday at my local caf, but that’s another story) wouldn’t let me heed the dire warning.

Why I would say what I did, till this day, like so much that surrounds my mouth, baffles me.

My answer? Seriously my hands are trembling on the keyboard right now was ..,

“A banana because it fills me up nicely” ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I know, I know. Why? No seriously, why? I mean. Really? Why Dammit WHHHHYYYYYYY!?!?!

Let’s just say, none of those Baywatch inspired models would touch me after that. Even with a stick that had lost it’s shape thanks to the most poisonous Aussie snake venom infused bubble-wrap warped covering immersed in all the Echidna spikes you could find.

I did though, get relentlessly pursued by a few real psycho stalko ardent followers the rest of the semester who vowed that they would show me the way in all their illuminative grandeur -_-

So there you have it. One of the many ridiculously, excruciatingly, mortifying humiliating moments that have mysteriously tripped me along the way.I have finally got it out, for the rest of the world to see.

I hope you still kind of like me and that your “I have to keep reading even though it’s like watching a train crash head first into the Titanic” infused sentiment of my blog is still intact.

Anyway, here is my challenge to Herminia and everyone else.

Hello, are you still there? Crap. Oh well. Here goes:

Write about one profound experience that has changed your life which involves doing something for someone else

Why? After writing this, clearly no one will ever be able to surpass my level of embarrassment again and I feel like reading about someone who has done something good for someone else. I need to feel all warm and fizzy (I think I like this botched upversion of autocorrect on fuzzy because lets face it, who doesn’t want to feel all fizzy internally?) on the inside.

See you around guys.

Please.
