Should You Use Subtitles? | Korean FAQ
Do you use subtitles when you watch Korean content?
When you use subtitles, do you use English or Korean subtitles? Why did you choose that one over the other?
I wanted to explore the issue of using subtitles for learning Korean, so I made another Korean FAQ episode all about subtitles.

길에 "On the Way" | Live Class Abridged
Sunday's live Korean class covered the grammar endings 길에, 길이다, and 도중(에). We talked about how and when to use each of them.
These forms can translate to "on the way" or even "while" depending on the sentence.
We also compared them briefly with other grammar forms meaning "while" such as 면서, 동안, and 다가.

Can You Learn Korean like a Child? | Korean FAQ
I often get asked my opinion about "learning as a child." Can you learn Korean like a child? Should we be doing more immersion, and less studying? Are children the best language students?
I answer these questions, and share some of my research on the topic.

New Beginner Korean Video Course... for Free
Want to learn Korean, but don't know where to start? You first need some sort of curriculum - a textbook or a course will work - so that you can learn things in the right order. How about something completely free?
Here are the first ten episodes to my new free beginner Korean course, taught by me. The first episode covers exactly what the course will teach, how much you'll learn, and how to get the most out of each lesson.

There will be two new episodes in this series posted every week. Here are the first ten episodes.

기에, 길래 "Causes" | Live Class Abridged
기에 and 길래 are often confused for each other, despite working quite differently.
Officially, 길래 is simply a casual version of 기에, but in usage they do have some separate rules.
I talk about how to use both. This is an intermediate (some say advanced) lesson about the two verb endings.

It's important to make mistakes when learning any language. You can't learn how to speak properly without first trying to speak.
But there are some mistakes you don't have to make, and should avoid making - mistakes that can sound rude.
I cover some of the most common rude mistakes that Korean learners make, such as using the 자 form, saying 너 or 당신, and more.

Jeju Dialect 101 (제주 사투리) | Korean Dialect Special
Do you have any friends from Jeju? Jeju is probably the most interesting place in Korea, due to it being isolated from the rest of the peninsula for most of its history.
So let's learn some Jeju Dialect - in fact, it's hard to really call it a "dialect" since over 75% of it doesn't even exist in standard Korean.
Unfortunately the dialect is slowly going away since the mid-1990s, but some groups are still trying to preserve it, and you can hear a lot of it still if you visit there.
