One Man's Garbage Is Another Man's Treasure
"Sharp-eyed garbage man returns lost $12K to a local school."

SEATTLE -- It might not be considered a glamorous job, but Micah Speir loves what he does for a living. "I'm not at a desk," said the Waste Management worker, who has been driving a garbage truck for four years. "It might get repetitive sometimes, but you've always got to pay attention to everything around you. Cars, bikes, pedestrians." And thanks to Speir's attention to detail, a Seattle school will not have to worry about trying to recoup nearly $12,000 dollars in checks that were accidentally dropped near some trash cans. "I noticed there was scattered trash and that's what I was going to pick up," said Speir. "And lo and behold it was something more than scattered trash." Speir carefully picked up all the checks, along with a deposit bag and deposit slip. They were made out to Lawson Elementary School in the Magnolia neighborhood. Speir called principal Dorian Manza. "It was kind of a little bit of a panic, and a frenzy - 'Oh gosh, how many checks did we lost,'" recalled Manza. He and Speir made arrangements to rendezvous somewhere along the garbage hauler's route. When Speir handed over the deposit bag, all of the checks were there, and Manza was grateful. "I told him, 'I know you have a tough job, you went above and beyond. I tried to give him a tip with my own money but he said, 'No sir, I can't do that. I won't do that,'" Manza remembers. Speir said his only thought was to reunite those checks with the school. "It felt really good, but at the same time I was just making sure I did the right thing--getting their funds back to them," Speir said. School officials say a PTA board member accidentally dropped the bag along the garbage truck driver's route. Waste Management supervisors are proud of their driver and say it's just one example of how much employees care about their customers and their community. Collecting trash for a living, he says, can bring surprises at a moment's notice. "It's not dull at all. There's never a dull moment being a garbage man."

Beheading Of A Child
"ISIS-Linked Fighters Behead 3 Women, Child: Afghan Officials" Story by Fazul Rahim, Mushtaq Yusufzai, F. Brinley Bruton and Wajahat S. Khan for NBC News. KABUL — Three women and a child were among seven people beheaded by suspected ISIS-linked militants in southern Afghanistan, officials told NBC News on Monday. Their bodies were taken to a hospital on Sunday after fighters who were holding them fled during an assault by rival militants in Zabul province, Deputy Governor Massoud Bakhtawar told NBC News. It was not known exactly when the victims, all members of the Hazara minority, were killed. "We are not sure who beheaded them, but they were abducted ... by foreign militants loyal to Daesh," Bakhtawar said, using an alternate name for ISIS. The deaths came amid escalating fighting between rival Taliban factions in the province. At least 80 people have died in Zabul over the weekend, both fighters and civilians, according to two Taliban commanders who spoke to NBC News on condition of anonymity.

Did You Wish Upon A Shooying Star Last Night?
"Mystery light freaks out Southern California residents." By Joe Sutton For CNN. Panic and speculation spread Saturday night when a bright white light shot through the night skies in Southern California. Residents posted a flurry of videos on social media, together with theories of aliens or meteors. Others made panicked calls to law enforcement officials. But not to worry, U.S. military officials said. It was a planned missile test. The Navy Strategic Systems Programs held a scheduled missile test flight at sea from USS Kentucky, which is a ballistic missile submarine. The test was conducted off the coast of Southern California, the Pentagon said in a statement. It said the missile was not armed. "The tests were part of a scheduled, ongoing system evaluation test," the statement said. "Launches are conducted on a frequent, recurring basis to ensure the continued reliability of the system. Each test activity provides valuable information about our systems, thus contributing to assurance in our capabilities." Fascinated residents shot video of the light. "At first, it looked like a gold shooting star," witness Matt McKee said. "It went from gold and small, burning for a few minutes and turned into this blue spot light. Like at an event held at night -- not like shooting out at us, but a white bright light," he said. "What was weird, the tail was light and wide and it got bluer and bluer. Then it just burned out and went away." The Los Angeles International Airport issued a statement this week about the military testing. "The military airspace to the west of LAX will be active for one week, creating traffic route limitations and requiring LAX to temporarily deviate from over-ocean operations," it said. depending on the composition of material in the comet,
different hues of color can be seen in the night skies.
If a comet streaks across during daylight hours,
the Sun's brightness blocks this effect.
Some of the eyewitnesses,
including my daughter,
when she thought it was a comet,
reported seeing the missile explode,
breaking up in the upper atmosphere,
then dispersing the large bluish green cloud,
which hovered in the skies for about 10 minutes.

Once again,Big Business,in this case,Schlumberger Limited,which is the world's largest oilfield services company,shows its uncaring hand in dealing with the fluctuation of profits by laying off20,000 employeesbetween Januaryand April of 2015.(Statistics are from The Advertiser.)Schlumberger used to employ approximately 123,000 people representing more than 140 nationalities working in more than 85 countries.Schlumberger has four principal executive offices located inParis,Houston,London,and Hague.They say four principle offices,but the founders of this Company were two brothers living in Paris,and they started their business back in 1926.Where do you think the real decisions are made for this Company Worldwide? living inParis!Their shares still sold higher then five years ago,but their largeBonuseswere in trouble for the end of 2015 if they didn't do something now.(Facts provided by MSN.com/money)

If I new a way to boycott this Company,I would ask everyone to do so.But it's not that kind of Company,where the Consumer can effect their thinking in their Corporate Office by a boycott.As long as theRichare allowed to keep lengthening the disparity betweenThem,the Middle Class,and the Poor,where most of the"Wealth"is controlled by theOne Percent,we will continue to have the crumblingand then the extinction of theMiddle Class in our,not too distance future!It will only then be,the Richand the Poor,living in this World!And do you think thoseBillionaires,who Psychologists say all have the"God Complex,"will be losing any sleep over youand I?

Did It Hear Me?
I never been so frighten in all my life.
Oh,yes.I think it heard me.
My only hope to reach my shelter from it,is the veil of this darkness.
I must follower this wall as long as I can go,until the warmth of my shelter.
My loved one was taken from me yesterday by it.
I don't know how long I can go on without her,but her death cannot fill my mind right now with dread.
I must think,or I too will be like her.
We were better off in the fields.
Why did I let her talk me into coming back into it's shelter?
Why?
These creatures are so tall compared to us.
Intelligent.
Evil.
They horde all the food in one placeand then hunt us down if we take just one morsel.
I must make a break for it now.
I must run.

That Old Gray Matters!
"Mediterranean diet might keep your brain young, science says!"

It’s smart to be wary of big announcements about diets. There are an awful lot of them, after all, and nutritional recommendations seem to change rapidly: One day you’re tossing out the butter because of high cholesterol and the next you’re putting it in your coffee and praising “good fats.” It can be difficult to tell what is real and what’s a steaming platter of BS, like when reporter John Bohannon managed to get an purposely bogus study declaring that chocolate makes you thin published in a scientific journal. So yes, it’s good to be cautious. But today we heard some diet news that we hope is as good as it seems. Researchers at Columbia University studied 674 Manhattan residents with the average age of 80 and found that the brains of those who stuck to a Mediterranean diet — lots of veggies, some fish, and little meat and dairy — had more gray and white matter than their peers. All that extra matter was the equivalent of slowing the aging process by five years. Sadly, this doesn’t mean eating like the Greeks is going to stave off Alzheimer’s.
The Guardian reports: The authors cautioned that their findings, published in the journal Neurology, do not prove conclusively that the Mediterranean diet prevents brain shrinkage and that it is merely an association. However, two British dementia charities said it was further evidence that the Mediterranean diet may improve brain health. “There is an increasing amount of evidence that eating a healthy diet rich in fish, vegetables, legumes, and nuts is good for your brain,” said Dr. James Pickett, the head of research at the Alzheimer’s Society. “This study delves further into the potential benefits that diet could have, but it does not prove that a Mediterranean-style diet can stop your brain from shrinking as you age.” People hoping to reduce their risk of developing dementia should also quit smoking, exercise regularly, and keep their blood pressure low, he said.

Researchers at Columbia University studied 674 Manhattan residents with the average age of 80 and found that the brains of those who stuck to a Mediterranean diet — lots of veggies, some fish, and little meat and dairy — had more gray and white matter than their peers. All that extra matter was the equivalent of slowing the aging process by five years. Sadly, this doesn’t mean eating like the Greeks is going to stave off Alzheimer’s.
The Guardian reports: The authors cautioned that their findings, published in the journal Neurology, do not prove conclusively that the Mediterranean diet prevents brain shrinkage and that it is merely an association. However, two British dementia charities said it was further evidence that the Mediterranean diet may improve brain health. “There is an increasing amount of evidence that eating a healthy diet rich in fish, vegetables, legumes, and nuts is good for your brain,” said Dr. James Pickett, the head of research at the Alzheimer’s Society. “This study delves further into the potential benefits that diet could have, but it does not prove that a Mediterranean-style diet can stop your brain from shrinking as you age.” People hoping to reduce their risk of developing dementia should also quit smoking, exercise regularly, and keep their blood pressure low, he said.

"A Hot Kiss"
"Final kiss of two stars heading for catastrophe!" Posted on October 2015 by Astronomy Now. "The double star system VFTS 352 is located about 160,000 light-years away in the Tarantula Nebula. This remarkable region is the most active nursery of new stars in the nearby universe and new observations from ESO’s Very Large Telescope have revealed that this pair of young stars is among the most extreme and strangest yet found. VFTS 352 is composed of two very hot, bright and massive stars that orbit each other in little more than a day. The centers of the stars are separated by just 12 million kilometers (7.5 million miles). In fact, the stars are so close that their surfaces overlap and a bridge has formed between them. VFTS 352 is not only the most massive known in this tiny class of “over-contact binaries” — it has a combined mass of about 57 times that of the Sun — but it also contains the hottest components — with surface temperatures above 40,000 degrees Celsius."

All day yesterday I was thinking what I would write about today?But once again,the Hacking Group,"Anonymous" surprises me.At least once a month they seem to pull something out of their hat.This time it is going to be one of my all time favorites!

You are abhorrent. Criminal. You are more than extremists. You are more than a hate group. You operate much more like terrorists and you should be recognized as such. I've reached another"Milestone." What A Sugar Rush!
OK,raise your hand if you ate too much candy.Raise your hand if you gained 5 pounds from eating pumpkin pie.Raise your hand if you need to go to the dentist tomorrow.Now,Raise the Roof
if you can't wait for Thanksgiving.We won't be eating candy,but I know we'll all be eating something good.I had to laugh at my Doctor when I went to see her last month.She told me I had to loose at least 40 pounds,but I can't see that happening anytime soon.With Halloween just finishingand with Thanksgivingand Christmas coming.Fat chance!Wait,I'll be the one who is fat after those Holidays.Well,here is me,sitting on the couch,eating candy,watching football,waiting for theGreen Bay PackersandDenver Broncosgame tonight onNBC Sports.I hope you can digest the rest of that candy you picked up last night as you secretly acted like a kidand dressed up in a Halloween costume.And don't think you fooled anyone either.It's just too creepy to point out the fact that you were dressed upand tried to change your voice to sound younger when you said,"Trick or Treat!"
