What A Beautiful Eve
The evening falls, the peach colored sun falling low on the horizon, over trees, humidity lingering on the air, the after scent of rain, the earth not quite quenched.
I inspect the garden, a neglected L-strip of plants, sweet Williams, roses, and tiny wild straw berries, the kind perfect for tiny turtle mouths. Then back down the hill, another glance skyward, the twists of clouds, heavy off to the left where the storm's gone moving on.
Honey suckle and wild rose climb the hills further back, na...

Falling Angels by Jen Winters
What’s worse than losing your job? How about losing your life, your home, and everything familiar? I just wanted to work. What did I get in return? A long fucking fall with a sudden stop.
Stranded on earth with little hope for survival and an eternity of banishment ahead of me, I did the only thing I knew—I worked the jobs I could. Until I realized I’d been replaced. Then I got mad.
Eleven thousand years of fighting for my destiny had me broken, bitter, and ready to just give up. And then my be...

Emergency Snot Stations
Outside a soft breeze is toying through the trees, sunlight dappling dark green with lighter yellow shades. The sky is pale blue, and yes! The toilet paper is beside me! I swear, you can tell an allergy sufferer from all of the little tissue stations set up around the house. The other day went to get something from the washroom and a roll of toilet paper plunked off the washer.

Gladys On My Mind...
How are you all doing tonight?
I'm eating a cookie and working on Gladys. Okay, so right now I'm talking to you and one eye is doing the chameleon to take a sneak peek at the TV, but I've got Gladys on the brain. Can't wait to see where she goes tonight.
I hope you're having a beautiful night!
Love,
Echo

Thank God For Friends And Chocolate
Some days, I think I spend more time thinking about marketing than I should--I mean it's everywhere. It's on the front cover of Writer's Digest, it's on nearly every blog out there--how to reach your reader, whatyou should do and say, or not do and say and--ugh. Just ugh.
I don't know what's trending. I'm an urban fantasy author, that's just what I plan to write. Hopefully it stays popular. I don't know what or how or where to promote, but I'll try as much as I can. Not because it does wonders...

Puppy Paws and Book Blogs
Getting ready to host #BlogTuesday on my page. The puppy's curled up on his bed beside me, wrapped in his blankets, small face sticking out and resting on his paws.
I've been working on Gladys and some promotional things and now it's time to, well, keep on going. :) I'm becoming a bit of a workaholic.
How has your day been?
Have a great night and read good things!
Sincerely,
Echo Shea

Towel Plucking and Page Turning
Happy Mother's Day weekend! How's it been going so far?
Ate a good dinner, got some towels I need to pluck out of the dryer, and I've got Gladys on my mind.
Ooo! I did just finish a good book! It kept me up late, reading into the wee hours of the morning as good books have the habit of doing. It was Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews, the husband and wife team. So good.
It's time to get to writing.
Have a great day and happy reading!
Love,
Echo

Keep The Chocolate Near, My Dear
I'm not the best blogger--as you can totally see. I'm a terrible marketer. I don't know where to start or what to do or what goes where and how. The best advice I can find is be yourself.
I hate to break it to you people, but I'm always me. Even when I'm not me, I'm me. That's just my spammy side or me in an ugly light--I don't have to be proud of that side, but it's still your truly. I type out all of the Tweets for "Light a Candle for the Beast" and the whole idea of blogging is quite near t...

It’s Okay To Be Popular
If you’ve ever watched The Big Bang Theory and heard Sheldon Cooper talk about the geology department then you know how some people judge genres.
Genre fiction is both some of the most popular fiction and also the most looked down upon for being such. How can it be special if even commoners can understand it? *Turns up nose here in a dramatic sniff of derision.*
If you’re a reader (and writer) you’ve most likely already heard comments like these:
Fantasy: I don’t read about vampires/dragons/...
