Next--This October my short story If This Be Madness will be published in Spooktacular Seductions. Another good month ahead.

Now onto the whole, switching blogs thing--...

Prize Planning in the Works

Hello, readers! Have you missed me? I know, I know, but I've been busy, busy, busy and most of that is because of you. Blog tours, promo's, scavenger hunts..."Portals" is being born into the world and we're bringing it in, in style. I've got ARC's to hand out to interested reviewers and more blog stops for our tour to find. Until then I've been working to make things easier for you, dear reader. A new website, a Twitter account. It appears I'm f...

First Draft of "Light..." Complete!

Last night, I sat down at the computer and wrote the end of "Light Among the Trees". Now it's onto the edits to tie up all of the loose ends. I'm excited to do edits, and I'm also excited to have started on the beginning of the next in the series, "Blood of the Earth". All titles are subject to change, but I like this one.

I'm going to do a few edits before I print out the 272 pages worth of manuscript and then I'm going to prepare for the roll...

Closer to the End of "Light..."

Okay, so for a while now, I've been feeling...not right. Almost incomplete, I guess. I was on pause with "Light Among the Trees" and wanting something, but unsure of what. I found myself slightly miserable, eating (apparently for all of the characters on pause in the story, and they all wanted something different, don't you know?), and making my environment conducive to writing. Finally, about two days ago, the flood gates cracked open just a little. Wrote 4+k in a 24-hours...

Edits--Round One

Got first round of edits back from my editor. Yay! Found out what my go-to words are..."that" and "little". It's funny, but even with it marked up in red and purple glory, I can see how much better its grown already. I think the next time I go through an MS on an edit, I'm deleting every "that" and I'll read it through to see if I really need it. Save my editor some ink. :)

"Light..." had a good day yesterday. It took a song with a good beat...

Finding "Light..."

Just finished discussing the blog tour with my publisher, which is something I can't believe I'm even doing. I'm so excited about Portals, I'm just one happy camper, I tell you what.

So far, my story with the working title "Light Among the Trees" is deciding what it wants to do next. In the meantime, I've done a bit of an edit to it, peering into my work-in-progress like one would into the head of a volcano. Got a little drunk and then sick on the f...

Published!

Well, it won't be ready for March, but my short story "Entrance of Lost Souls" is to be published in Portals a fantasy anthology by Roane Publishing. Isn't it marvelous? The cover reveal is happening on April 10, 2014 and the book is set to be published in May. It feels so good when you can keep a promise. I hope you all enjoy it. I'll be keeping you posted on what's going on, but for now, I'm just doing a happy dance.
