This Poem's Got the Mojo

That's the only explanation I can think of for it. Since being accepted to be published, it was almost trashed because of the editor and things that he did that really shouldn't be thought of when thinking of the magazine. So, after getting over that hump and deciding to publish the magazine, well, the editor held things up and wasn't giving over who was accepted and who wasn't, hence why things were taking so long.
Finally they straightened things up th...

Perhaps a Shelter of Daylight?

Okay, so it seems that Shelter of Daylight might be having one last issue. Perhaps. Maybe. If so I'll be in it and I'll know before the year is up. I e-mailed Ms. Badger, so when she gets back to me she'll be able to tell me for certain. The only thing I know is that White Cat Publications is publishing "Daybreak".
Other than that, I've got editing to do and stories to send out. Before I do that, of course, I've go...

No More Shelter of Daylight

Thanks to Beth Powers, another writer to be published in the spring 2013 issue of Shelter of Daylight, I've learned this particular magazine is no longer to be. It sounds like things are pretty hectic, what with the magazine going out of print and all, so I don't know when I'll be able to get some feedback on if and where "Daybreak" will be published. I'm hoping to know soon, but until then, I'll be following it closely.

Beth Powers is a fantasy fiction writer, an...

Spring

I've got the spring bug. No, I'm not cleaning like crazy. Just like everything else about this year, winter's started with spring and left me with the gift of clogged sinuses and coughs. Ick. It figures I would catch it after everyone else. I just have to be special, don't I?
Since spring the temps have dropped and we've had just about as much snow now as we've had all winter. Sooner or later the temps will settle.
I hope.

Sending Them In

I finally got around to sending some poems in. I don't know how they'll be received, but I have a confidence in them that they're good. I haven't quite moved forward with any of my stories yet, but I'm not too frustrated and that's a good sign. Ghost Cliffs is at a point where I'm finding out new things about it, so I'm just going to let it takes it's time. Still, it bugged me not to be writing as much, so I decided to do the note-card trick. I tape note ca...

Thinking

With so many stories going on, I've found that I need a breather, so that's what I've been doing. Minor research on where and what I'm doing with my characters, what to do best as an author, and a few other things that need my attention. I've found my self stuck on a few of my stories and I finally had to stop myself from writing in circles. With the help off note cards and some time off, I've gained some perspective and soon I'll be itching to write again, and act...

Found Treasures

Yesterday, I found the beginning of a story I wrote maybe two or three years ago. It was one I had just left to a sit for a while because I didn't know where I was going with it and just the thought of ruining it made my head hurt. Before I printed it out, I had been thinking about and once I read it, I found I couldn't wait to get to the computer to finish it off. And I did. It was wonderful to finally have it finished. Perhaps it might need one or two more polishings (who knows what...

Thoughts

I'm thinking of all the things I have to do and doing so productively. I'm a worry wart so I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts.
Right now, I have a lot of things to do and some things to think over. In one of my stories, currently titled Ghost Cliffs I have to work in a new character and look over my plot line. I might've hit a bit of a plateau in the story and I need to pick up the pace. I also have to start typing it up. I do most of my writing in long hand and do som...

Winter

All of this winter chill has finally amounted to something, and the snow is falling (and sticking!) to the ground. I can't really see it from my window now that the day has faded, and the moon is peeking full between the clouds. I didn't really think it would stick much, but it's falling in small flakes, touching the ground and turning into ice. It's a good thing they salted the roads.
I'm not too much of a winter person. I mean, I like the change of weather from spring to...
