Just Me and My Fitbit
This week in A Family of Strangers, next summer’s release from Mira Books, I needed a scene with my point of view character, Ryan. Ryan is casual in both dress and manner, and she shops… well, I’ll let her tell you what she says about her clothing choices early in the book.

Sunday Inspiration: Unbecoming
“Maybe the journey isn’t about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so that you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.” -Butterflies and Pebbles

Winners, Renovations and Revisions
Congratulations to Ola Norman, who was chosen by my old buddy random.org to win a copy of Diane Chamberlain’s new book, The Dream Daughter.
Ola was lucky number 13, which just goes to disprove that particular superstition. Diane’s book has gotten great reviews and was chosen as a People magazine book club pick.

Sunday Inspiration: The important thing…
“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” -Albert Einstein
Curiosity is one of the most essential qualities for a good writer. Curiosity is what opens the Pandora’s Box of imagination, ideas and creativity.
If we’re not motivated to investigate the wonders that surround us, to discover the possibilities of existence–even a little–then what new insights do we have to give to the world?

Novelist For Hire
Part of the fun of writing Night Magic, the third book in my New Orleans Nights series? I suddenly had a great excuse to visit New Orleans again. I’ve told you some about the trip, but did I show you this photo?
A Poet for Hire
Isn’t this a cute idea?

What Would You Take?
Learning our route, our children insisted we stay at least one night to take in Sin City and it’s charms, and to cement the deal, a son and daughter-in-law gave us tickets to see Cirque du Soleil’s O at the Bellagio.
