Sunday Inspiration: Work

In honor of what I hope is a permanent return to work for our federal employees, today’s inspirational quote comes from Warren Buffett.

““There comes a time when you ought to start doing what you want. Take a job that you love. You will jump out of bed in the morning.

Words No Author Wants to Hear: It’s Time for a New Website

author's website

This has been one of those weeks when my to-do list has been longer than the neck of a giraffe. And now it includes a new author’s website.

I won’t bore you with details, but I know all of you have had days or weeks when you have so many things to do you dabble in everything and complete very few.

More Cover Reveals: The Sum of Its Parts and A Home for the Holidays

More cover revealsMy wonderful editor contacted me this week to tell me that my publisher will be reissuing another of my older books as an eBook.

While I have the rights to many of my back list novels, my publisher still has rights to a few. The original title of the one she was interested in was A Stranger’s Son, and if you read the book, you’ll know why.

Sunday Inspiration: Rest and Self-Care

rest and self-careRest and self-care are so important.

When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow.

You cannot serve from an empty vessel.” -Eleanor Brownn

Cover Reveal: A Family of Strangers

This has been such a busy couple of months. They’ve gone something like this:

After I finished writing A Family of Strangers (Mira June 2019) I took a glorious three week trip to Europe and Africa.

I came home with bronchitis and took a three week break from doing everything except coughing and eating soup.

Sunday Inspiration: How the Light Comes

the light comesWhile this lovely poem is a blessing meant for Christmas day, I think it’s wonderfully appropriate for the new year, too, and throughout the year. A friend posted it on Facebook and I loved it immediately.

How the Light Comes

A Blessing for Christmas Day

I cannot tell you

how the light comes.

Wish Upon a Star for 2019

I’m at Disney World with my family celebrating our “big” wedding anniversary, as well as all the other end and beginning of the year holidays.

Considering where I am, I’m allowed to be a little corny today. So for 2019, in the words of Jiminy Cricket:

When you wish upon a star

Makes no difference who you are

Anything your heart desires

Will come to you,

If your heart is in your dream

No request is too extreme

When you wish upon a star

As dreamers do

Fate is kind

She brings to those who love

The sweet fulfillment of

Their secret longing

Like a bolt out of the blue

Suddenly, it comes to you

When you wish upon a star

Your dreams come true

My husband (who often does Sunday Inspiration here) and I wish each of you a year filled with many, many good things as well as the courage and wisdom to face whatever else comes your way.

Sunday Inspiration: Mother Teresa

Mother TeresaThe words below are especially important to me since they were found written on the wall in Mother Teresa’s Home for Children, and our daughter Jessie was one of the children in that home when we adopted her exactly forty years ago.

These words also make heartfelt resolutions for the coming year.
