I did something yesterday that I haven't done since I started this writing journey. I spent the day reading a book. Actually, I finished reading one book and started another. Mr. B went fishing and I had a rare day alone. Between my concerns of how the words haven't been coming to me of late and going to GRL next week, I think I needed a day to submerge myself in another world.
Today, I'll withdraw into the writing cave and see if the words flow. Have a great day.

I've been busy getting ready for the GayRomLit convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My daughter, Amy, and I will be flying in next Tuesday. Sorry, Mr. B is passing the event this time.
Amy and I went shopping last week for luggage (my suitcase was damaged on the train to Seattle this summer) and clothes and of course shoes. I'm convinced no one can have enough shoes.
Today, Mr. B is boxing up and shipping out all the swag I'm going to give away. We're busy, busy.
Have a wonderful day.

I've MIA for a bit. Mr. B and I withdrew from society, took solace in the forest, and went on an extended camping trip. We had a great time and I managed to get some writing done. I'm working on multiple projects.
Now we're home and time to catch up on real life. Soon I'll be leaving for GRL convention in Albuquerque. Have a great weekend.

Yesterday was a day of adventure and remembrance. Eightee...
Yesterday was a day of adventure and remembrance. Eighteen years ago the twin towers were disintegrated by terrorists. We lost so many people. I remember the news being interrupted and seeing the planes hitting the towers. I remember listening to updates on the radio at work and looking up at the clear blue sky and noting that there wasn't a cloud in sight. My first thought was that the sky was clear so that the souls of those people could reach heaven easier.
Yesterday, we also received a call from our daughter that she needed a ride home from her adventure of walking a trail that runs across our state. I was so worried about her as the trail runs through some thick forests. Besides bears, we have packs of wolves, and cougars. There are also predatory people out there. The drive, one way, was three hours. We did get a break as her oldest brother lives on that side of the state and took the time to pick her up. I can now breath easier that my children are okay, for now.
Well, time to bake a cake for my daughter as it's her birthday, and get to writing.

Let's start out the week with saving money. Never Too Old to Live Again (Lubiea Mai 1) is not on sale for $.99. You can find it here. https://www.bookstrand.com/never-too-old-to-live-again?fbclid=IwAR0WECcAMsOC9KUtkXwUUCL8GXlVAUJE6b8R5Da6XOPfLlgsafH7G2B0h0M
I'm busy getting ready for GRL convention next month. I'm trying to order postcards with my different series on them. I'm not doing so well. Apparently, the banners my cover artist designed don't have enough pixels or something. I also don't have enough patience. When I hit a problem, I close down the site and do something else. Time is starting to run out and I guess I'll have to soldier through it. Wish me luck.

Today, I'm going through all my fb accounts and twitter. I'm looking at my emails and trying to get back into the swing of things. We spent 4 days camping in a very remote place. There was no internet or cell service. We had no TV reception. It was kind of fascinating just to be in the moment. I do have to say that I'm glad we only go there once a year. The drive is long and this time we had tire trouble on the way home.
Well, time to get going and accomplish something.

For most in the U.S.A. it is a long Labor Day holiday weekend. Most view this weekend as the last hurrah of summer. I have to admit that fall is in the air. Trees are starting to change color. The flowers are looking pretty straggly. I guess we can stop change.
Have a wonderful weekend.

I need the quiet time of my writing cave and the words today. Life constantly evolves and we can't stop it. Dying is inevitable. It's hard saying goodbye and heartbreaking to see the family's grief. It seems so many around me are losing their children, their parents, or fighting the cancer battle.
I am working on two stories. I will work on whichever lets the words flow or switch to the other. One of the stories brings back old friends. I need to revisit them right now. Here is the beginning of the story. (Unedited of course)
His grip tightened on the tongs and lifted the slivers of cooked onion before loosening his hold and settling the bunch of buttery tanginess onto the meaty dog snuggled in the bun’s softness. A squeeze of ever-needed ketchup topped the delicious goodness. With quick, efficient, movements, he wrapped the hotdog in foil and handed it to the young woman.“Thank you.” He smiled and accepted the money before handing back the correct change. “Enjoy and have a great day.”All the while, Lee Sanchez’s gaze never left the tall blond making his way along the edge of the beach where the park’s trees met the sand. Instincts sharpened by years of undercover police work told him that the two men following Reese and the three guys in the woods, flanking his lover’s every move were up to no good. The hair on Lee’s arms rose when the three guys stepped out of the trees and blocked Reese’s way. A knife flashed in the late day sun sending him into action. Reese wouldn’t pull out his weapon unless he felt threatened. Lee grabbed his trusty baseball bat and leaped over the hotdog cart.

Sometimes household chores demand attention above writing. I know that's hard to believe, but it is the sad truth. Today is one of those days. The list is long and needs to be done. So, I'm off to tackle the tasks.
