Exiles: An Outsider Anthology edited by Paul D. Brazill

Really enjoyed the tales in Exiles: An Outsider Anthology edited by Paul D. Brazill. You can pick up at Amazon for .99 cents.

Here's my review:

"Great collection of stories from a vast group of genre writers. They each explore the meaning of what it means to be outside the box. There is a tale of a lonely woman afraid of her shadows until she grows wings and flies away. There is a tale about two lovers torn apart because their gender doesn't match the societal definition of love. Another...

Dark Digital Sky by Carac Allison

Dark Digital Sky is one of the most creative books I've read this year. It's written by Carac Allison, and I'm predicting he's created a new genre with PI Chalk and his adventures. If you read anything this year, read this. Trust me.

Here's my official Pulp Metal Magazine blurb:
"Fresh. Fast. Innovative. A cyberpunk revival of 1950's hardboiled crime."

Now, go read Dark Digital Sky!

Bill Crider on "Supergirls"

"Gritty down to the bone, and surprisingly touching..."

Bill Crider is one of my pulp heroes, so I'm very thrilled he took the time to read and review Supergirls. The rest of the review is HERE.

Huge thanks to Mr. C!

Review: Pulp Modern Issue 7

Pulp Modern #7 is full of it. Full of liars, thieves and down, dirty crimes. I particularly enjoy reading Pulp Modern because I know I will be thoroughly entertained, Cizak never disappoints with his story picks. I thought it would be hard to follow up the JFK issue, but Cizak has hit the ball out of ballpark again. All the stories are great. These are my top four favorites:

~ The Vintage Mark by Tom Barlow
What starts out as a practical joke becomes black mail. You'll never look at a wine conn...

Reviews Are Rolling in For Supergirls!

Paul Brazil Reviews Supergirls:
"Mav Skye‘s brilliant debut,  Supergirls,  is like a high-octane, fluorescent mix of Switchblade Sisters and Wild at Heart. And more!"

Here's what others are saying:
"Two kick-ass sisters spiral into some of the most astonishingly bizarre scenes of violence, sleaze and pulp-weirdness."
Lily Childs, The house of Three

“(It’s) as if Sam Peckinpah or Tarantino had directed the girls from Scooby Doo, who were all grown up and had taken...

Review: Break Free the Night

Figured it was about time to start posting reviews books and short stories again. Without much ado, here's my review of E.M Fitch's Break Free the Night:

E.M. Fitch's intense, suspenseful prose will sing you through a dark world. A world where the undead ravage and feast on the few remaining survivors. A world where innocence is fading fast. Kaylee knows this more than anyone.

Kaylee is one of only six people left on earth. She is content enough to have her father, sister and best friend Andrew...
