Paradise Burns by Marc E Fitch

My book review for Marc E Fitch's latest release, Paradise Burns !
If Milton were to come back today and write Paradise Lost in the spirit of Poe & King with a smidgeon of Steinbeck, then Paradise Burns is what you'd end up with. Only this isn't Poe, King, or Steinbeck. It's Marc E Fitch, knocking the snot out of mythology and horror, with possibly the freshest and most creative voice in the dark fiction today.
The story starts with a dead body and a broken but determined detective. It conti...

Readers' Favorite on Supergirls

SUPER GIRLS has received a lovely 5 star review from Readers' Favorite!  Many thanks to Anne-Marie Reynolds for reading and reviewing.

She says, "Welcome to the madhouse. Supergirls by Mav Skye is only a short story but there’s plenty packed into it. This really isn’t for younger readers or for anyone who may be a little squeamish or faint-hearted. Ms Skye has a real talent for words and clearly has a deep imagination, albeit a strange one! The story had plenty of go in it, righ...

Iris at Pulp Metal Magazine

So, my computer died a week or two back and I wasn't able to post this story (or much of anything else!) here. But, I am happy to say I am back and hummin' with a spanking cool new machine. All my keyboard keys work, and with a screen that isn't cracked I feel like I'm in 7th heaven.

I've been working on cleaning up some story files and have found dozens and dozens of half finished, never published stories. I always forget about them, and occasionally pull one out when something reminds me of...

Paranoia and the Destiny Programme by Richard Godwin

My book review for Richard Godwin's latest:

Dale Helix is a torn character obsessed with sex, propaganda, politics and the true state of reality. Either he is:
A- a “happily married” hit man for a totalitarian sect
B- a softhearted piano player with violent dreams
or
C- a flaming mad paranoid kept within an insane asylum.

Welcome to Richard Godwin’s world of ever flexing realities and truths, and of course, fluttery dark butterflies. If you’ve read Godwin before, you’ll find this his darkest, most...

Loss of Light by EM Fitch

It's been awhile since I've done a book review. Here's one for EM Fitch's zombie sequel Loss of Light:

Fitch carries us into the second novel with her lovely lilting voice and suspenseful style. I'm a zombie fan and what I get excited about is imaginative circumstances and happenings with zombie attacks. EM Fitch delivers. Look for the swamp scene...I promise it will delight your soul to pieces. I have grown rather fond of the characters, and was surprised and sad to see a few of them go. I'm...

Crave in Pulp Modern #8

The theme? Drugs, baby.

I wrote CRAVE long before the sub call. It's one of my most disturbing works to date where I deal with drugs, canabalism and sexuality in a serious, yet whimsical matter. The critique group I am on and off with again were horrified by the story, and one person threatened to write and ask that I be kicked out.
Fortunately, editor Alec Cizak felt differently on the matter.

What's all the fuss about? I could tell you but then I'd have to...never mind. Just go pick it up.

Prin...

Marrow at Cast of Wonders

©Mav SkyeIn a small farming town, a handful of teens discover more tricks than treats in the out skirting cornfields. One must never tempt a tomahawk-wielding scarecrow, especially on All Hallow's Eve.

Marrow was written last Halloween. It is a YA tale, but it's for adults too.

Click Here to listen to the audio version at Cast of Wonders. It's read by my favorite narrator in the whole world, Barry J Northern. What he did with this piece was pure magic. I'm sure you'll agree. Huge, huge thank yo...
