Gateway to the Imagination: Authors Who Have Influenced Me

This is another thing I've never revealed much before, my book influences. I don't know why I don't like to share. Perhaps because these authors and what they create...are so personal to me. I feel like a piece of my soul is tied to many of their works.

Either way, you are welcome to go check out my essay, Gateway to the Imagination: Authors Who Have Influenced Me over at SBM Book Obsession.

"Catching Bubbles" at It's Raining Books, Plus a Fun True/ False Book Giveaway!

I have an essay up today. It's called "Catching Bubbles." It's a tad ridiculous, and mostly fun. I list six true things about myself and one falsity. I'm hoping people will guess which is false. And the first handful of folks who comment will win a digital copy of Supergirls.

Click to read HERE!

Here's a bit of it:
Well, I’m not sure if this would surprise people about me or not, but I am terribly, terribly absent-minded. I’ve left my keys hanging in the car door more times than I can count. I’v...

Review of The House of Three by Lily Childs

"The House of Three" is a chilling tale best read at the midnight hour. When brother and sister, Johnny and Sarah, buy their childhood home and start renovating it, more than just dark memories come back to haunt them.

The story is gripping and compelling. Lily Childs takes us dark, deep and even a tad Poe-ish. I couldn't put my kindle down until I finished. Next time I smell damask roses, I'll be looking over my shoulder. A must read for horror lovers.

Buy The House of Three here.

Interview at Lisa Haselton's

I'm over at Lisa Haselton's today. We talk about about all kinds of stuff. Like this:

"As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?In this order: the first woman president, the first woman astronaut on the moon, and then I’d retire as a rock star. I think that as I’ve aged, I’ve grown more mature. Now I just want to be the first Martian president. I’d deliver my speeches in neon metal telepathy. I’d wear a quicksilver cat suit and moon boots with heels. My only hesitancy in accepting...

I'm interviewed over at Straight from the Library today. We talk about my favorite book when I was young, my bad book reading habits, and whether I prefer print books to e-Readers. There's also a juicy excerpt for Supergirls.

Interview at Deal Sharing Aunt

I'm up at Deal Sharing Aunt today with an interview. I've always ALWAYS felt uncomfortable sharing personal things about myself. Under my OTHER WRITING NAME I probably wouldn't have done these interviews period, but I've learned we need to change, evolve. It's good for the soul. So here is the first of a few interviews. I share how long I've been writing and about my very first novel, Devil's Eye. Click here to read.

Huge thank you to Deal Sharing Aunt.

Pantsing My Prose over at Bunny's Book Review

Outliner or Pantser? Well, you can guess by the post title what I am. If you are curious about this process or just want to give it a whirl yourself, I give a few hints and tips over Bunny's Review. Part of the process of writing involves forgetting. And ironically, while writing this guest post, I forgot to include the section on forgetting. (Sigh) But don't worry, I remembered, eventually.

Blog Tour and Halloween Story Acceptance

Just wanted to let folks know about the Supergirls upcoming blog tour. It'll be ongoing for a few weeks and you'll get to learn everything you ever wanted to know about the book, the plan for the series and uh, me. (Yikes.) The tour is hosted by Goddess Fish.

Making the decision to go Indie wasn't a difficult choice, but it certainly steers in the opposite direction of traditional publishing. I'm trying out different marketing techniques to see what works for my particular genre or brand of bo...
