Quick little vacation before the launch!
Raven's Peak comes out on the 5th of July. This week I'm heading with my wife down to Tennessee for a short vacation before getting into the thick of things with the book launch.
I've got a lot of big launch plans for this novel and I'm really excited about seeing them come to fruition. If you haven't picked up your copy yet, you should head on over to amazon and grab one today!
It'll be here on Monday. If you haven't checked out the trailer for it, you can do that as well:
And thank you all for your support in launching this book! It's set in a good position to be my biggest book launch yet (by a lot) and I'm hoping it takes off to even greater heights!

Second Chances a finalist in the Literary Classics Book Awards
Got the news today that Second Chances is a finalist in the Literary Classics Book Awards. It's following in the footsteps of Ripples Through Time, and with any luck it'll bring home some awards this year. It is in a few different categories, so here's hoping it can perform well in those categories.
They announce the winners on July 1st, so I'll know soon enough how everything turned out. It makes a nice distraction from obsessing over the launch of Raven's Peak, so now I can relax a little bit and let things play out. I've got my launch strategy pretty well figured out, so now I just need a preorder page so people can start leaving reviews and purchasing copies!
On a completely unrelated note, Schism has a new book cover now and looks a lot better. It needed a refresh so it wasn't an eyesore in my catalog in books. next up is a fix to the UAV cover which will make it look a lot nicer as well.

Milestone: 3,000 book sales
I passed 3,000 book sales this weekend. That's across all titles, so it isn't the largest of milestones, but it's still better than nothing. With Raven's Peak coming out, I'm expecting to grow that number exponentially before too long, so here's hoping Raven's Peak takes off and sells really well.
The preorder should be up soon, and everyone should be able to get their free copies and start posting their reviews, so hopefully it'll get a lot of reviews and sell really well.
I'll update as soon as I have an actual date for launch. I've got some big plans in motion for the release. More on that soon (including the trailer!)

Raven's Peak Edits!
Woohoo! I got my edits back this morning from Amazon. There was a little hiccup where they sent two emails, and the second one said the first had the wrong edits. But, when I sent back for clarification they confirmed that only the letter itself they sent was different, so the edits are perfectly fine.
Here's a little bit from the letter:
"The novel is in really strong shape. The concept is inventive, and you’ve found a new way to put a spin on the paranormal. The world building is fascinating. Your language is evocative, and the descriptions transport the reader to another place. You are very skilled at pacing, and the action shots have true suspense."
And I pulled in all of their corrections and made some modifications based on their suggestions, and now it is loaded back to Amazon for final processing! From everything I've heard, 8-10 days to create a pre-order page and then the book is up for preorder for 2 weeks. That means the launch will be between July 1st and July 4th!
I also added a short story called The Ninth Circle as part of my signup benefits, along with UAV, for people who are signed up to my newsletter. Hopefully this will attract new people and help down the line! If you're already signed up, you'll get access to the short story as soon as it is available, and before the book is out!

Next Project!
I'm hoping to get back my edits from Kindle Scout in the next couple of days (Monday at the latest) which is going to push me pretty firmly down the path of launching Raven's Peak. I'm extremely excited about starting that process, but I'm also trying to keep busy with other works while waiting.
For one thing, I've neglected working on my other series. Graveyard of Empires was published almost a year ago, and I still don't have another entry for it ready to go yet. But, I'm hard at work on book two, titled Collision of Worlds, and I'm hoping to have it out in the next few months.
That being said, I'm not planning on waiting as long before getting book three out. My project after Collision of Worlds is going to be the third book in the Graveyard of Empires series. It will be released either thirty or sixty days after Collision.
Right now, Collision is sitting at around 43,000 words, and the untitled sequel is around 70,000, so once I finish writing both I'll be able to push to finish them and have them released hopefully before the year is out.
And then I'll turn my attention back to Raven's Peak and write the second book in that series. I'm not sure if I'm going to try to put it through Kindle Scout too or just publish it on my own, but I'll keep you updated.
Also, I'm putting together a short story to be launched alonside Raven's Peak that tells the story of Arthur before meeting Abigail. It will hopefully clarify some details about him, and it will be exclusive to people who sign up for my newsletter! If anyone is interested in signing up now and getting it as soon as it is available, check out:
and also check out my home page
Because I have a lot of giveaways available to help promote Raven's Peak and generate some new readership!
There's also a Amazon giveaway for fans to win a copy of Ripples Through Time:

Kindle Scout Guide
I am continually updating this webpage as a guide for how to run a kindle scout campaign. If anyone is interested, you should check it out, and I include a lot of resources and other things you might find useful in running your own campaign!
There is a lot of information in there as well from other authors, including videos and blogs that have been consolidated into one location! I've also included stats about the books that have been picked and how many views/nominations various campaigns have received (data which is being continually updated and expanded upon as people deliver new details!

Fifty Reviews on Second Chances!
Little milestones are great to hit, and I'm super excited that Second Chances hit fifty reviews on Amazon!
I can't wait until Raven's Peak launches because I'm sure that it will jump right past all of my other books (combined) and hopefully help drive traffic to my other works. It's exciting waiting for information from Kindle Scout about everything that is coming, and I'm looking forward to starting the process in earnest for the launch.
I was invited to join a 'secret' Facebook group (sort of like the Illuminati) where all of the other Kindle Scout winners congregate. There is a ton of useful information and it's really exciting to see people cheering each other on and offering encouragement. I love being a part of the group and getting a chance to work with the Kindle Scout team!

First Week with Kindle Scout
This week I managed to find out a few things about the early process of Kindle Scout and working with Kindle Press. I had a phone call with one of their representatives where they went over what is going to happen next.
First, I submit the book with any of my changes. Then, once they approve that, they trigger a few processes: sending it off for final edits (which takes about 2-3 weeks to return to me), getting me payment information (not the same as KDP) for handling royalties, and discussing the promotional things that will take place during the launch.
More or less they said once I get my edits and make my changes (all optional) then it's up to me to get it to them and get it published. It takes between 1-2 weeks to start the preorder, and that will run for 2 weeks before the book is published and available. During the preorder phase everyone who nominated the book will get their copy and encouragement to write a review.
I might try to stage a few of my own promotions/giveaways, especially on the hard copy and paperback to hopefully get those to take off as well. I don't know an exact release date just yet, but I'm hoping by the end of June to early July (ideally before the 4th).
It's an extremely exciting process and I'm thrilled to be a part of it. I've met a lot of great people who were already published, and everyone is sort of wrapped in their own little world trying to find things out. I think they said the hope is to start utilizing the translation and audio rights they have (before they expire) which could be cool in the future.
Thanks all of the support, and I'll keep you updated as a find out more and when I have a solid release date!
