Sequel to Raven's Peak Underway!

I'm hard at work on the sequel to Raven's Peak, having jumped from 9,500 words to 28,000 in only a handful of days. I'm hoping to have the first draft finished soon, and then the developmental edits will start and I'll be reaching out to people for beta readers and making sure the book is up to par with expectations!

When I wrote Raven's Peak, I wanted for there to be a lot of action scenes and high intensity in the book. My goal with this book--tentatively titled Raven's Fall--is to top that and make it even more action packed. There is one scene in particular that I'm really trying to make as thrilling as possible.

With any luck I'll have the release date for the book in the next month or so and have a goal to work toward. Nothing like deadlines to force me to get to work!

Blog Features for Lincoln Cole!

I really appreciate all of the blogs who have featured and reviewed Raven's Peak since launch! It's been amazing seeing it listed in so many different places, and I'm sure it will help a lot with it's long term success!

Raven's Peak

Raven's Peak: A horror/thriller/paranormal novel released in 2016. Angels and Demons meets the Dresden Files.

They are all listed on the Raven's Peak page, and they are all excellent and contain very valuable mentions and information. More blogs will be trickling in until the end of the month, and then things will slow back down as Raven's Peak gets into its second month.

So, for all of the listed bloggers who gave mention, I would like to say thanks!

Raven's Peak - Results so far!

Raven's Peak has been out for one week now, and I thought I would give you a quick sense of how it's been doing since being published. I don't know much about the actual numbers because Amazon sees all of the charts and information. Mine is purely guesswork.

I made it up to thirty-three reviews and it has had a generally positive response, even from some of the lower rated reviews. It reached a peak rating on Sunday of 2,245, which is by far the highest rank I've ever gotten with a book on Amazon.com, and it was in the top ten of it's primary category.

I have no way of knowing how many books this equates to, but it looks like it's off to a pretty good start. It's also been featured on a lot of blogs and is in the middle of two blog tours with a third scheduled to start next week. Right now I'm trying to get the book noticed and some traction, and then long term I'm hoping this translates into sales.

In any case, it's been a crazy week and I'm hoping things can just keep climbing up now that it's passed into week two. Things should start slowing down by August, but for now here's hoping there's nowhere to go but up!

Book Review by N.N. Light

I received a book review from N.N. Light yesterday that is currently making the rounds. So far I've gotten quite a few reviews and I'm hoping to keep pushing forward further into the launch as they trickle in.

The launch is going well. I've sold quite a few copies and had Raven's Peak featured on quite a few different blogs and websites. I have no way of knowing if any of it has contributed to sales, but it's still nice getting any feedback at all.

And, on another note, I'm officially into writing the sequel. I made it to 7,000 words so far and I have the rough outline completed, so now its just a matter of finding the time to actually sit down and put the words on paper. I basically know how the story is going to go, so it's actually coming fast. I'm not sure at all when I'll try to get the sequel released or if I'm going to try Kindle Scout again and get this one put on with Kindle Press as well. If I don't go with Kindle Scout I'm going to shoot for three months, but if I go with them it'll probably be farther out.

Anyway, without further ado, here's the link to that review:

BookViral Review Raven's Peak

I just got back a review from BookViral for Raven's Peak, and it was a really nice and positive review!

BookViral

They gave it a nice review and it's entered into their book awards competition for this year (to be decided in February).

Quick Request: If you follow the link and look at the left side of the landing page, there is a scarlet quill you can recommend the book for which will help it gain traction! I would really appreciate anyone who is willing to recommend it to help it get some added publicity.

Thanks, everyone!

Smoky Mountain Fourth of July!

We took a trip to the Smokies for the long weekend and had a really good time. The coolest thing is that Raven's Peak is sort of set there (I intentionally didn't specify beyond 'the mountains' to keep it vague). It was the perfect vacation for the book launch!

Unfortunately, I was sick for most of the time we were there. We ended up going to a wax museum and playing a bunch of games, went to a dinner and show (Hatfields and McCoys) and went to Gatlinburg to walk around and do some shopping. There are some really neat little shops up in the mountains and it was a lot of fun (despite being super hot!)

And now back to the grind, but that's just how it goes!

Literary Classics Book Awards - Second Chances

Second Chances won the Literary Classics Book Award for Cultural Issues in their 2016 competition! That is the second year in a row that my books won something in the competition, so hopefully Raven's Peak can continue that trend next year!

The awards are given out in Vegas in October, so with any luck we'll be able to make another little mini-vacation to go out there and have a little fun. We had a great time at the LA book awards and it would be nice to meet some of the new winners as well, so here's hoping we can make it work.

That puts Second Chances up to 3 Gold medals, 1 silver medal, several honorable mentions, and the finalist spot in multiple competitions. I would say it's done pretty well considering.

And now it's time to settle down and launch Raven's Peak. It comes out Tuesday and will be entirely different than anything I've done before. I actually got a few reviews back between today and yesterday that were incredibly nice and really made me feel good about this launch, so hopefully a lot more people will enjoy reading it once they get a copy.
